My first gun i owned way back 2006 and still have it now. Fun to shoot, reliable, very accurate and built like a tank.
I agree, this pistol is reliable and very accurate.
My first pistol i bought after getting out the military, i don't know why it has a bad reputation but I can't remember ever having a malfunction with it even with all that types of ammo i shoot through it in the past 12 years. The only thing is taking those damn sights was a struggle
I agree, those sights are not easy to replace or take out even with sight removal tools you still have to put muscle into it. I never have any malfunction with this gun and yet the price tag is lower than Glock. Love this gun. Thank you for watching and for the comment.
My duty pistol for a armed security years ago was the XD 45 mil spec service model with the ambidextrous thumb safety, loved it!

Awesome! I have an XD9 4” barrel handgun which has been nothing short of amazing as far as reliability goes. Stock ran perfect. Have owned it 3 years and now have 3.5k rounds through it with no mechanical failures. Price is not bad, paid $500 plus DROS and tax with one mag. Mods to it now are Trijicon HD XR tritium night sights, PRP drop in trigger kit, PRP extended grip safety, rubberized grip tape, and TLR-7A weapon light. Next mod is extended mag release and it’s complete. So far, so good. Keep it clean and lubed. 😎👍🏼

Excellent review of the XD9 Service Model. Is own this pistol and love it. It is my favorite pistol in my gun collection and it is my edc gun. I run it with Springfields OSP slide with an optic and carry it in a Tier 1 Axis Slim appendix sidecar holster.
You can’t go wrong with this pistol.

I have owned like 15 pistols over the years and like buying a single gun from all makers and buy the best of every brand.
I can only afford to buy up to 2 pistols a year but lately have been getting a yearly pistol and decking them out with threaded barrels and suppressors for over getting 2 guns stock.
If your like me and have to choose one gun per year you can’t go wrong with the Xd line,I chose the Xd40 and will choose it over all others if I could only choose one.
I recently got my first glock which is the g43 in 9mm and I see why glock is likened so much it’s a sweet little shooter decked out with a suppressor and I’m not a fan boy for only one brand I like them all but that being said the XD40 runs like a Rolex and I’ll choose it first above all others to trust my life to,great buy for anyone looking for a gun that always goes bang.
The best part about the Xd I didn’t mention is that the Xd 9 and xd 40 are the same exact frame and you can swap out the 9mm barrel for a .40 and swap the clips and can shoot both.
If that was not cool enough you can also get a .357 sig barrel and use the 9mm clips with the .357 sig rounds and it’s a 3 caliber pistol.
Then to make it even better you can buy a mectech ccu conversion and put your Xd pistol into it and it turns it into a carbine rifle which is a lot like the Ar15 and I believe the carbine shoots in 9mm pistol rounds ,it may even come with a .40 cal barrel which would be even cooler making it a 5 caliber pistol in one package after buying the accessories.
Let me tell you,it’s as fun as it gets plinking targets with the mechtech ccu in .9mm .
I would shoot all day every day with the Xd ccu if it didn’t cost so much I mean it’s a hell of a lot of fun .
Just so you know I have seen a bear dropped by a 9mm and it fell dead in its tracks and that was with just a pistol so a carbine ccu in 9mm would be even more power and no joke.
I don’t think even a .22 is a joke,hit led flying is hit led flying and will ruin your day.
This pistol stock is a great pistol I would go grab one before the rest of the world finds out just how great this pistol is,I love this peace and it’s just as good as glock without question and in a lot of ways less cheap feeling in the hand.

I agree same here.. I have been shooting the pistol constantly in the range.. and I never had any problem. I probably put about 1,500 rounds with this pistol.
I have my springfield xd9 and this gun is extremely good in price and quality.

Got night sights, new grip texture, and light on mine. It's a magnificent handgun.
For the $, it’s an amazing gun. I’ve got it and other SA handguns. All have been 100% reliable. I don’t care for the grip safety though. It requires too far of a “push in” to disengage. Especially compared to my 1911.
I agree… a very reliable pistol. Many gun owners doesn’t like pistols with grip safety… that’s why they do not go for 1911. These days most shooters preferred the striker fire pistols. Some shooters are saying that 1911 is outdated.. but I say it’s an awesome gun and I loved it. I have a few 1911’s as well. Thank you.
I bought a xd9 mod2 subcompact grip zone last month for 325 loved it so much went back to pawnshop I buy from today and they had the xd9 full size for 380 but let me get it as well for 300 out the door went straight to rang with 100 rounds of fucchio defense xtp and a 325 round buck of Winchester fmj 115 grain had not a single hiccup. Thinking about retiring my m@p 9 as my carry now. And have alredy added the subcompact to my cc list when not carry my g26 or fn503

Springfield Armory XD’s are great firearm and very reliable. I never had hiccups with my XD pistols. I have the MP Shield 9mm but I like the XD subcompact more. That’s awesome.., you got two pistols for only 625. Thank you for sharing.

XD9 was my first 9
SP-01 was 2nd, but as of today, I still feel the XD9 feels better than my SP-01 and way better than my friend’s G19 gen3
Hopefully roster gets struck down, and I will get a MP9 2.0 metal
I really hope that the roster will be taken out. When it happens... firearm stores in Cali will be flooded with gun enthusiast like me. 🙂.. its time to upgrade.
G19 Gen 3 gets uncomfortable at my middle finger because of the finger groove and trigger guard after 40+ rounds. My brother’s G19 Gen 5 is WAAAAY better. However, I’m in CA and I’m not a cop so I’ll most likely resort having the Springfield XD9.

I love the presentation, I also own a couple Xd's and so far I love them both compact XD gear up 9mm and XD 45mm tactical 5" model. What I don't like is that they don't make a lot of extras for this model. I would like a magwel for the XD .45mm and I have not found one yet.

In Norcal, I think there is one in San Leandro but I don’t think there is a rental.
Hi Kuya, there are 3 9mm pistols I have in mind to be my first firearm here in CA.
1. This. The Springfield XD 9 Service Model. I’ve shot a medium sized group with this in 20 (30 rounds) hitting 2 bullseyes. My most accurate shots. And yes I’m a novice.
2. The Springfield XD 9 Sub-Compact. I’ve never shot one because my local range didn’t have it. I want to shoot one so badly so I know if I can have this or not. This would look perfect for when I get a CCW permit. However, people have been saying it’s snappy.
3. The Glock 19. I’ve shot my brother’s G19 and it’s pretty good. I’ve shot a medium group of 10 rounds near the bullseye but I never shot the bullseye with it yet. I’m considering this because of the aftermarket parts and customizations options for this. Plus it can be concealed carry.
If I have not shot the bullseye w/ the G19 or the XD sub-compact (or any other gun I’ve yet to shoot) by the time I get my permit to own a gun, I’m going to have to make my first gun be the XD Service Model (4 inch barrel).
Iv got the Glock 22 and the subcompact XD 9 and the 5inc 45 ACP XD aswell... honestly bro go with a Glock 19 the triggers on glocks are better and you can get faster follow up shots plus parts are way easier to fix witch wont need to be!!.. and don't make my mistake STICK TO ONE BRAND if u go glock stay glock and train with it hell buy 2 glock 19 and if one ever goes down you got a brand new one and your already good with the gun but the glock 19 or really any 9 mm glock runs for like 100,000 rounds witch you will probably never shoot in your lifetime..... XD are nice but honestly I'm in California too and I'ma go back through the process of getting rid of my xd for 2 glock19 look UP TREX ARMS on UA-cam and the only pistol he trust out the box...and trust me that guy is a beast 😂 he knows his stuff for sure
@@Stingiee102 Thanks. But I have to try all and all that I try must be compatible for my accuracy and comfort before I call them mine. I've shot a Glock 19 and have not shot the bullseye with it yet. Given, I've only shot 10 rounds with it. So I'll practice more (when someone like my brother can go to the range with me).
@@nastymkfan Accuracy is always negotiable reliability isn't and there are small parts that wear on xd sooner than Glocks besides the XD LINE USE TO BE CALLED HS2000 OR sum weird and they were originally priced at 299 or something but then Springfield bought them changed the name to XD AND CHARGED MORE MONEY look it up no bullshit but that being said they are reliable and probably just as good as Glock and i do feel your point aswell because i love the XD sights and can get on target really fast with them but ill just change my Glock sight to XD sights in the future....LOOK UP HS2000
@@nastymkfan But you can see hard evidence everywhere on UA-cam of how spongy the XD trigger is compared to Glock look up rapid fire XD VIDEOS...watch the speed then look up rapid fire of Glock 19...... and watch how much faster you can get shots down range it's almost like the XD triggers are bb gun triggers and there is too much take up almost doubling the time to let fast shots off just my opinion tho honestly and i usually don't even make comments haha anyways bro they both will take out the trash no problem
@@Stingiee102 Oh yes. I’m aware about the politics and I can care less about them. The XD may be slightly more priced than before but still somewhat cheaper than Glocks (at least if I get a Glock since I’d modify my Glock to suit me more than how it is out of the box).
Most likely, I’d have one of each. The G19 would probably be my Gucci 9mm while the XD will be my first. Both excellent guns but again, I will get what I’m most accurate and comfortable with. I’d also love to try the Sig Sauer P365XL. It’s not available in CA though (the state I live in).

The magazine ban sucks, these pistols originally hold 19 rounds some older models hold a few rounds less 13 or 15
Yeah.. the mag capacity limit is sux.. law makers think that 11 rounds or more in a magazine is too much 🤬
@apolakaiarmory ive always said if your limited to 10 just carry a 10mm or 50AE, you want the most boom if your shot count is limited
@apolakaiarmory great video though, i reccomend trying to centre axis relock drills, not the john wick ones but the legit ones done by the ex british special forces soldier

Or course. I have friends who have CCW that carry this pistol. Springfield also have the XD9 subcompact 3 inch barrel.

Semper Fi devil dog. I own an XD-9 Sub compact. Can I get a red-dot optics for my model and if so what model do I need? Can you send me the link for the red-dot optics for the XD-9 that you refereed to in this video?
Imy apologies for the late reply.. I have a red dot on my XD 45.. I installed a dove tail plate and attached a Vortex Venom. I got the red dot from Sportman warehouse website.. it was like on sale when I bought it.
