- The Mercedes-Benz SLC Final Edition has been out for a little while now, and I thought it would be good to have a look at the last of the SLC's. And as Mercedes-Benz of Poole had an SLC 43 in, I thought why not?

I am going to miss this car. It is one of my favourites, and I really wanted it to live at least to the new generation of Mercedes-Benz, especially now that I see what they are implementing in their new generation, which I love. Sadly, it will not.

We had a 2020 SLC300 at the dealership as a trade in. 1,600 miles. It was only 35k, I should have bought it. Sad story, the guy who did buy it (lasted 2 day's on the lot) was parked a few months later and a woman in an SUV didn't see it and backed into it.

Another excellent video Nick. This car is absolutely stunning. I know SLC has usually been associated with female hairdresser but this edition looks amazing and by the size of the engine, a proper roadster. Such a shame that its going.

Hey Mohamad, no not all Mercedes have them, IWC clocks are usually only found in AMG’s 🤓
@@npoleary Not talking about the iwc actually, talking about the usual watch on all mb cars, cant find it on the c217 edition which is the s class coupe

Was waiting for MB to refresh the interior to be more like other MB's, but they quit making it in 2020. I'll keep my old 2006 SLK350 that I've owned 13 years until I find something I like better. The interior is still dated even in the 2020 model IMO.

Hey Alexander, I was holding out on a C-Class video as there might be an upgrade next year (rumoured not confirmed). And at present there isn’t any talk of an electric C-Class.

I'm gonna be cheeky and ask a question unrelated to this particular video, feel free to ignore it.
I'm wondering how to disable the alarm's vibration and tow-away sensor for when putting the car onto a ferry. You get advised to lock your car without the alarm being on. On my current car (2018 Mercedes E-Class T model) I don't know how to do it. The manual doesn't seem to mention it. I'm perfectly happy to not just have the tow-away sensor disabled but have the entire alarm disabled. On a ferry that's fine.
Hi Vee, no problem
On an E-Class it’s under settings (next to your hazard button) and then under Vehicle Settings.
Tow Away Protection is essentially the exterior alarm and interior motion sensor is the one for the inside.
Both will switch back on automatically when you next turn it on.

@@npoleary Thanks !! I'll check that out next time I'm in the car. I did have a similar description I'd found when googling and failed miserably to find it when in the car. I'm beginning to doubt the car has an alarm now, although it was advertised as having one by the Mercedes dealer.
Oh don’t worry Vee Macks, all Mercedes-Benz have an alarm! They’re very loud!

This is going to be the last SLC bottle are they going to bring back the SLK or any kind of Coupe convertible go in forward or are they just go to shelf the coupes
Not sure to be honest, SLC hasn’t been in production since Dec 2019 so maybe not :(
@@npoleary top-of-the-line luxury bread decides to do this I believe this will send shock waves to the others I love roadsters and I wish they wouldn't make decisions like this but it's beyond our control SLK SLC are beautiful cars they will become classic

The SLC was discontinued by Mercedes around about that time, of course double check with Mercedes for specs etc as they could vary compared to the one in the video 👍🏼
A CD player in 2020~!? wow.. very modern.
Hey Azzad, sadly the SLC has been discontinued now and yes was the last Mercedes to have a CD player. Everything’s all digital now with music played over Bluetooth or USB etc
I always believe the SLK or SLC was made more for women and the SL for men. I take the SL! The only SLK I liked was R172
You could say that about many models like PORSCHE BOXSTER and many others
I think in these modern times anything goes
Still far from a fully specced SLK,no leather dash or leather on top of doors,no magic sky roof no V8 engine,only big change is the front grill since 2011.and Engine and 9 speed Tiptronic auto box,nice car they ran the design for far too long compaired to other Mercs it's age.

How do Mercedes expect this to sell? That 6 pot sounds about as mean as a Toyota Pirus with a small hole in the muffler. Anemic! I own this vehicle with a REAL motor in it. The 5.4L hand built V8. Thats the sound that's puts a smile on my face EVERY TIME! Not this neutered V6 eco-car sound. No surprise to me MB is discontinuing it. MB killed it themselves by what they themselves DID TO IT.

I know, naturally aspirated V8’s sound awesome but I’m sure Mercedes-Benz don’t intentionally do this to cars and make their engines smaller. EU law, emission regulations etc affect what we pay and also what cars and engines actually come out of the factory.
There are rumours I have read online that the new Mercedes-AMG C63 is going to be a 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder hybrid 😥
I’m excited for new models always! But it will be a shame to see the noisy V8’s fade away! All new cars eventually becoming all electric in 2030!
@@npoleary MB still puts 4.0L turbo V8's in many of their cars. They choose not to put a V8 in this model. They did this to themselves.
