Absolutely agree. I think they nailed the styling with the 05-09. Looking for a convertible In a couple years, I'll be looking for a GT coupe myself. I wish I could find an '08 Bullitt.
Who cares? These weren't luxury cars. I've had mine for almost 10 years, put over 160k miles on it, and it's been almost problem free, despite my heavy foot and mods. If it were a BMW, I would have already payed sticker just to keep the damn thing on the road.
@@blacksunshine1089 agreed. Don't know if you still have yours, but I still have my 2008 GT with 132K miles, driven hard and tracked, and its still running strong! Good cars. Not the fastest, but fun.
In MotorWeek testing, this awesome S197 Mustang GT ran almost identical times as the 2014 Infiniti Q50 3.7 RWD. I still own my 2015 Q50 3.7 Premium RWD. Both cars did 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. But the Q50 ran 13.6 @ 103 mph versus 13.8 @ 103 mph for the GT. Both cars are pretty quick for stock when they were tested here 👍
How many years were those premium GT wheels offered? Bought my used '05 GT premium in 2011 with 6k miles; now has 24k miles. Had ALL of the stereotypical 'issues' of the early models - still puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it!
i had one of these....loved it was too big though, felt like a challenger compared to the foxbody & sn-95 cars i was used to driving, still got rear ended on the highway and they toataled it out like they do, she coulda easily got fixed, she had low miles and clean interior, clean body too made decent power, didnt rev as high as a 4v or sound as good but they made good torque and took to bolt ons
When I was younger my aunt had one of these mustangs and when I had the opportunity to ride in it I fell in love with it. The S197 Mustang GTs were underpowered with only 300hp. I owned a 2007 mustang gt and didn't care for it, though it was reliable as hell and i powershifted the shit out of it. My 1996 mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 was much faster than the mustang in a straight line. I also owned a 93 300zx tt 5 speed, and that was about as fast as the mustang as far as acceleration, but way more fun to drive.
Gold Standard Grooms I don’t know, the Mitsubishi only had 20 more hp, but also had less torque and weighed a couple hundred pounds more. It was 2/10ths of a second faster but that owes more to it’s all wheel drive system then it does power. Plus that and the twin turbo 300zx (which is slower) were built to much different price points.
These cars were underated you can find 35 hp with a retune and removing the air filter alone . And there is much more on hand . And there must have been a issue with yours because those other cars you listed I've spanked huge !!!

Look at the 2013 they look much better people who brought the 2010-2012 must regret it now. I'd hate to own a 2010 it has nothing going for it. 2011-2012 good powertrains. 2013 looks much cleaner its the facelift.
I like the 10-12 look better in my opinion.. as for the 2010 drivetrain I remember talking to a guy at a car show years ago when they just reintroduced the 5.0 and the guy just bought a 2010 with a 4.6 I said you must be mad he said at first he was then he popped the hood and says pointing to the engine "so I had to call Whipple and get this" lol
BimmerM5e39 I don't know I really like the 2005 to 2009 look. It's the one that started the modern muscle wars. It's the one that brought back the camaro out of retirement and help give birth to charger n challenger.
my 5.0 trans am put only 150 hp , smoke regulation kill big engine but with technolgie evolved they make more and more power wih each generation , and keep in the regulation range and yes a 4.6 is a big engine , most car in europe are 1.6 to 3 liter engine .Gaz here are 10 $ a gallon and ecotaxe are approx 10000$ if you purchase a V8

this video looks like it was filmed in 1970's

Nah, it looks very 1980s 😁
I like that about it.
That roof is the next best thing to the convertible.

someone find me a single one of these cars with the glass roof for sale anywhere in the country???????!!
It's a shame that ford didn't offer a glass roof option on the shelby GT500.
I think they offered the glass roof in 2011/2012 .I remember seeing a gt500 on the showroom floor.

anyone else find it weird that the drag times has been the same on a gt model since 2005? and the camaro could achieve those times in 1998.
no because the camaro had a 5.7 then

glass roof?!
