I have a white 2012 GT/CS just like in the opening of this video. Took delivery in September of 2011 and it’s been well cared for since. It’s a great car to take out for a weekend cruise.
I would think it would make sense to test the Boss on the track, because it was a more track focused car than being a drag strip car! And 0 to 60 is 4.0 or less on 93 octane
The stated "19mpg on regular" gas indicates that this testing didn't use the trackey (red). The red key requires 93 octane. A 0-60 of 3.93 and 12.0 quarter mile has been achieved with the trackey.
I have the 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca. It is rowdy beyond description. You can't even imagine. And the handling is unreal. It is an "experience" to drive it. You are never just going for a casual drive, it is always a mind blowing experience. This is compared to several other high end sports cars that I have costing many times more. It may now be 10 years old and have 9500 miles on it but it is still 10 years ahead of anything I have driven.
It is a special ride ehh! I also have a C6 Z, but my Boss gives completely different thrills! It's a pleasure to drive, sounds incredibly awesome while rowing gears, and feels very planted/ neutral, unless harsh bumps arrive in corners. But I can overlook the solid rear axle for the very very few times it's an issue. Everyone who goes for a rip enjoys the experience. Proof always wins with a smile :-) Cheers from Canada.

After looking between the 2010+ gt500 and Shelby gt350, I made the decision to get a boss instead, currently looking for one, either orange or blue…hopefully I find one soon
I drove one, I didn't powershift but otherwise as fast as I could. I did it 3x a never missed a gear. First time driving. the shifter was good and no complaint other than the shifter rod was too short for me. I don't like one a foot and a half long like in my 73 TA but I think around 5" is reasonable.. relative to the top of the knob. Anything less than 4 at the top of the knob you can keep. I missed a gear in a 350z first time drive powershifting 3rd which is tricky and nailed 4th no prob but this shifter in the boss is much better. It also gave me more confidence than my own hurst shifter in my 4th gen Z28. I like that shifter/trans a lot but is what it is.
@personman8 The Boss 302 losses 10 ft-lbs but the reg 5.0's torque drops off quicker. Yes torque gets things moving from a dig but HP keeps them moving and the Boss 302 is still making power at its 900 RPM higher redline and will put out almost 500 HP with a disabled rev limiter @ 8000 RPM!
No way did they run the 1/4 trapping 124...not unless they forgot to mention a power-adder. Probably 12.4 at 114 like LMBC6Brian mentioned. Still fast for an NA off the showroom floor Mustang
LOL you wonder how much he knows about cars. I don't care what the cue card said---no way in hell would I read "124 mph" cause I know that's just wrong
There’s absolutely no way this car traps over 120. More like low 11x MPH. Mid 120s is where the Shelby’s trap with a few hundred more horsepower. If that car was going 12’s at 120+ that would make the entire 1st/2nd gear nothing but wheelspin which it isn’t, and the power just isn’t there.
alberto acosta this car has different gearing and everything set up for the track. Straight line speed isn’t what this is designed for. Track maneuverability is what it is designed for
@Motorweek.... I think the 124 mph trap is a just a LITTLE BIT HIGH ! Nissan GTR traps 121, Z06 traps 124, Lexus LFA traps 122, Mercedes SLS AMG traps 123.
Must be SOME tailwind since a bone stock 12-13 Boss should be trapping 115 on the high side the 12.4 is spot on so I’m guessing that was a really bad typo
@1vdn992 that's the number GM has been hinting, the supercharger obviously adds weight but GM has removed weight from other areas of the car. GM has said the weight should stay around the current Camaro SS. Best estimates put it around 3900-4000.
