[Pt. 2] Bridge to the Turnabout (But Larry Isn't The Worst) || Objection.lol

- Sequel to the last video-- and basically where we get to have a proper hospital scene "in-game".
I guess at this point I feel a bit more obligated to make another video after this, haha. Rewriting some of the characters and their expressed motivations would have a lot more of an effect on the court case and investigations.
___
This video wasn't as background heavy (we stay in one room for like the whole video), so the good news is that I didn't have to edit and draw over any backgrounds too much other than Phoenix in the hospital bed.
I still had to make an entire new background by scratch though, and honestly I just hope it doesn't look TOO out of place, considering it's the backdrop for practically 90% of the video.
___
Ace Attorney characters actually talk about their feelings?? It's more likely than you think.
The only reason Phoenix can't leave is because all the bruises have taken away his fast travel ability
Yeah, didn't you hear? He's stuck. His powers are inactive 😌
@@TheTrueTurtlegirl If he could still use fast travel, he'd fast travel with the hospital cot with him still.
(So he'd still need Edgeworth to find clues)
@@BottleofJarritos LMAO
@@BottleofJarritos If Maya wasn't stuck on the other side of the bridge, she'd help push his gurney
@@TheTrueTurtlegirlOr Pearls slapping him back to health.
"Try to avoid doing something so reckless in the future."
Phoenix Wright in the future: *Got hit by a car, sent I don't remember how many feet through the air and hit a telephone pole. Walked away with a sprained ankle????*
Phoenix is sorta reckless by nature-- fortunately he's kinda indestructible
@@TheTrueTurtlegirl Cue Rite of Turnabout, in which that same "indestructible" fellow gets his ass knocked out by poor position and pure back pain. _For a day and a half straight!_
@@shadowstar8619 Age does that to a fella-- though his resilience to severe injury is still concerning PFPFFF
In phoenix’s defense, he didn’t willingly jump in front of the car, he was just walking home and some jerk decided it was a good idea to go speeding at night in a residential area.
Don't forget he got hit by a fire extinguisher!
13:12 "yeah right! you kinda suck. seriously, you suck. but i know you can do this! and then, later, we can maybe hang out a little bit. like maybe... date, or something."
HAHAHA YES that blooper is iconic!
Wait until Edgeworth hears about the fact that he got his head nearly caved in by one of the fire extinguishers...
Or *GOD* forbid the time where Von Karma had a stun gun _so_ powerful that hours later Maya STILL had electrical charges from the gun still running through her body that'd shock anyone she touched.
Honestly if Miles thought the fact that some wack tomato-skinned mobster that managed to disguise as Phoenix and fool _everyone_ was crazy, he'd have a full blown breakdown knowing all of the weird shit Phoenix had to deal with :skull:
Honestly I might end up just making a short objection.lol of Phoenix just detailing all of these incidents while Miles loses his mind
7:21 Phoenix: "Oh yeah, I actually plowed my way through an entire trial with a moderate concussion that gave me temporary retrograde amnesia! No biggie, honest!"
Miles: "...I'm sorry, YOU DID WHAAAT?!"
Yeah, not his finest hour while you were off on your "Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth chooses death" vacation, but you can get back to the twat who tried to bash his skull in with the courthouse fire extinguisher another time.
14:08 Phoenix: "Trust me, they won't suspect anything. A mob boss managed to fool an entire courtroom, the news, and several people who know us all too well, with nothing more than my haircut, a paper badge, all the attitude and grace of a kodiak bear, and the complexion of a tomato plus a scar."
Miles: "Wait... HOW TF DID _THAT_ SLIDE?!?"
I don't think anyone really knows how Tigre got away with that stunt just to get poor Maggey canned. It was objectively the worst Phoenix Wright impression you'll ever see, and so out of touch with reality that the former Rookie Killer himself mopped the floor with him.
I should make an alternate version of this where Phoenix just recounts all of the stupid stuff he did and the stupid stuff he dealt with, with Miles just having a heart attack on the floor /j
@@TheTrueTurtlegirl And that's not even counting incidents like Dahlia wanting to poison his cold meds while trying to pin him for murder, getting slugged by Redd White after he killed his mentor, or him and Maya being tased by von Karma over evidence. Either way, Miles would either have a heart attack or be EXTREMELY tempted to strangle the people responsible for the hell they put Phoenix through.
@@TheTrueTurtlegirl No /j do it. I really want to see that.
@@TheTrueTurtlegirlThat would be highly entertaining, we'd love to see it!
@@larissac9598 Later on, maybe Edgeworth could also recount all the shit he got up to in the Investigations games, from the roller coaster of solving several murders in the span of a couple of days to getting kidnapped and saved by a teenager, finding an escaped murderer thanks to the victim's daughter, exposing an ambassador for leading a smuggling ring, almost starting an international incident, giving up his badge, protecting an amnesiac from the law, getting himself arrested, deposing the Chief Prosecutor himself, and needing two assassins to catch a clown before finally getting his badge back. Oh, and unofficially adopting the teenager/victim's daughter/amnesiac along with the former Chief Prosecutor's abused son.
It's amusing to see Edgeworth this upset because Phoenix crossed the burning Dusky Bridge and he might have died.
He acted similar as Phoenix in Justice for all, where he was upset over the message Edgeworth left behind.
But it shows how much Edgeworth worried about Phoenix.
And like I said before, I also like the conversations between Larry and Edgeworth. It has a nice dynamic.
I wish this hospital scenery was in the game, it could be like you described it, because... well i don't think Edgeworth wouldn't figure out what Phoenix meant when he gave him his Attorneys Badge and the Magatama.
I like that Edgeworth was insecure about Phoenix' request... but like he said... no one can do better than Edgeworth himself.
And the last moment between the two... you can sense that there ist more between them. I love it.
Thank u for this great work!
I'm very happy that you're enjoying the series! :D "Something more" indeed, pfpff
I truly like this concept of Larry, his two most close childhood friends, get into this awful situation, aleast feels human that he's worried about Phoenix, instead, we get simp jerk Larry in the third game
Human characters should feel human :>
@TheTrueTurtlegirl it just feels unfair that all the characters in that game get to learn about themselves in this chapter, but Larry somehow get even worse
The thing is that this isn't feeling like "I created a better version of Larry" but a Larry more empathy and reflexive toward others, acting worried toward you childhood friend. He has emotions and feelings of being worried for the ones he knows around and also reflexive about his actions.
He still keeps his goofy attitude, still feels like Larry, just that he acknowledged that things had getting very mess up
It feels so canon, somehow it does give the anime vibes.
I loved the hospital scene in the anime, there definitely could have been something like that in the game!
@@TheTrueTurtlegirl I think they didn't do because it was originally released it on the GBA in Japan and remained untouched and only localized it on the DS back in the day.
The little *Bwowo* when he said Edgeworths first name 😭😭😭
AWWWWW HE CALLS HIM MILES AT THE END
this is so well made, it genunely feels like the real game. all the characters are SO on point i have to remind myself this isnt a real case
@@femalejeremy Thank you! It makes me so happy to hear people say that the writing feels authentic :>

oh the gay is extremely strong in this one
Correct again!
I could feel it in every line of dialogue

Aw, really heartwarming. I like how this scene is extended from the game.
As far as im concerned this series is the real BTTT

:D!!
7:23 i complete forgot the who am i scene😭
i wouldve thought that i was in hell if i woke up to that
Fortunately Phoenix was able to deduce he wasn't dead, but incessant droning beeping in pitch darkness does seem like some part of hell
Petition to make this a Phoenix x Edgeworth fanfiction (If this is not one already 💀)
This series practically is one, though I have considered putting it in an AO3 fanfiction format to make it kinda more easily digestible for those who prefer to read it in that way :>

Song that played during edgeworth and wrights conversation??
I'm not sure which one you're referring to, but I'll try to list all of the songs:
0:13 - Never-Ending Overture (added this as custom music, as it's not in the presets of objection.lol)
1:23 - Great Revival (listed on objection.lol as just "Miles Edgeworth")
4:21 - When Something Smells, It's Usually Me
6:08 - Pursuit ~ Cornered (listed on objection.lol as "Pursuit 2002")
8:46 - Reminiscences2004 ~ View from Dusky Bridge
12:37 - Pursuit ~ Cornered (listed on objection.lol as "Pursuit 2002 ~ Variation")
16:32 - Steel Samurai's Ballad
Hope this helps pfpff :>
