@@jaysentbanks6172 how is Skyfall a better movie? It turns into home alone and has many plot holes. How does Silva know the train would come at that exact time through the wall? How does he know about the double-0 hearing with M when it was just announced days in advance? Casino Royale (2006) has a tighter script, is directed better and has better action sequences and has one of the best bond girls. How exactly is Skyfall better?

Totally, TOTALLY agree regarding GoldenEye, which is my all-time favorite movie (certainly not the best movie of all time, but it's my favorite and the one I watch most often). It has the perfect balance of action, drama and humor for a Bond movie. It has my all-time favorite movie quote (well, maybe second behind "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."): "She always did enjoy a good squeeze." It has the most interesting villain lineup in the series. It has the most picturesque set of locations of all 24 films (I want to go to these places). It has the most interesting deaths (006's death, Boris' death, the admiral's death, etc.). It has the best Bond performance and personality (the blend of determination, grit, humor, introspection, etc. that Brosnan brings to 007 in this film makes for the best Bond performance, IMHO). It has action that is memorable (e.g., the tank-train collision) instead of being a big, forgettable, shaky-cam blur like in some of the more recent installments. It has, BY FAR, the best M scene. It has the most interesting scene with a CIA agent ("Muffy?"). It has the examination of political correctness. It has "Run, Shoot, and Jump," one of my favorite pieces of music from the movies. It has the most interesting plot element for a Bond gadget (Boris' use/misuse of the exploding pen). It has the best costumes of any Bond movie. It has the original Q (Desmond Llewelyn), and he actually runs (albeit only for a few steps), for crying out loud! I could go on and on!

As a DIE HARD fan of this entire franchise, I respect differing opinions but I urge you to go back and watch the Connery films from Dr No to You Only Live Twice. From Russia With Love is a masterpiece, Goldfinger is iconic and Thunderball is my personal favorite of the entire franchise
Yes, I agree about Quantum of Solace being not only bad, but the worst Bond movie ever. But I also cannot help but feel that this movie was a victim of really bad circumstances. This movie came out during the height of the writer's strike of 2007-2008. As I understand, this movie had a very troubled production. But that does not excuse the godawful 'Jason Bourne' style of action scenes with the quick cutting, and shaky cam which was just migraine inducing.
Go watch Filmspeak on YT , he made a great analysis about QoS. QoS is not the worst James Bond, in fact 007 has never been so deeper, even in Skyfall IMO. Just go watch Filmspeak defending Quantum of Solace

Hey, sorry I’m coming from 2023. my love column is in order everything else is out of order. Love!!! (On her Majesty Secret Service, Skyfall, License to kill, Goldfinger, goldeneye, the spy, who loved me, the living daylights, thunderBall, from Russia with love, no Time to die) Liked (Dr. No, you only live twice, the Man with the Golden gun, tomorrow never dies, Casino Royale) Okay (Octopussy, the world is not enough, quantum of solace, Spectre) Guilty pleasure (Moonraker, A view to a kill) BAD!!! (Diamonds are forever, Live and let die, Die another Day) Forgettable (For your eyes only)
I remember as a kid when my dad set up his home theatre and Die Another Day was the first movie we watched on it. My dad is a huge bond fan We didn't finish the movie lmao
Interestingly Dalton is the only James Bond actor to date to actually read all the original source material before taking on the role. He is the single most accurate version of James Bond to Ian Flemings original character.
Your video was very enjoyable to watch and I love hearing other Bond fan’s opinions. I’m a 40+ year fan, I just did another rewatch of all the films (Last was in 2010). These are my ratings. A Films 1. The Spy who loved me - When I think Bond this movie and the next one come to mind, in fact these are two I recommend new Bond watchers to watch first. 2. From Russia With Love - This is the best Connery film, great pacing, nice locales, this is a solid spy thriller that proves that you don't need tons of action. You really need to rewatch this one it's usually in the top 5 for very good reasons. 3. Skyfall - I think I overate this film because it's sandwiched between the worst films in the franchise QoS and Spectre but it is the only film by Craig (so far) that you can see a bit of "James Bond" rather than a generic super-action hero. 4. License to Kill - Dark, edgy, realistic. 5. Goldeneye - Tank scene, need I say more, ok Sean Bean, need more, a perfectly paced film and one of the coolest opening scenes of the series. 6. A View to a Kill - I get the faults of this film but each time I watch it I enjoy it more and more. This is a classic Bond movie, great opening scene and final scene, nice locales, menacing villain, awesome hench-woman, great pacing and it has two of the most intense scenes of any Bond Film in it. 7. Live and Let Die - This is a classic and being an introduction to Roger Moore it was beautifully crafted. It has one of the best boat chases ever filmed. B Films 8. Thunderball - I think this Connery’s best acted film and the groundbreaking underwater sequences are awesome, plus the Vargas kill scene is the most classic kill in the franchise. 9. The world is Not Enough - This has some of the best action sequences in it, very well paced and has Brosnan's best acting. Never understood the hate for this film. 10. Dr. No 11. Die Another Day - This first half of this film is the best of any Bond films and then it goes off the rails but it doesn’t deserve last place as most people put it. The CGI is limited and not really that bad for that era and if you accept the sci-fi concept it is a very fun film to watch. Plus it has Jinx, one of the best Bond girls ever and the super hot Miranda Frost. NOTE: I think it was Popular Mechanics but a magazine came out with adaptive camouflage that the military was working on, including the ability to make tanks blend into the background. It really was not that far fetched. Bond has always been ahead of it's time - pagers and cell phones before they were invented for example. 12. Octopussy - Is also a fun film, campy but it hits all the right plot points. I find that people who put it near the bottom usually say they are confused by the plot. 13. For Your Eyes Only - Used to be my favorite Moore film but over the years it has dropped, still very enjoyable and that song, wow. 14. Diamonds are Forever - This filmed nailed 1970’s Vegas and how over the top Vegas actually was back then. I also love the fact that Connery is just having a fun time (some claim he looks bored, no that would be YOLT) Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd were great henchmen. 15. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service - Lazenby's wooden acting and constant over-dubbing of his voice shows he was not a good actor, slow in the middle, poor rear projection work. However the story was awesome and the cinematography was top notch for that era. 16. The Living Daylights - This film has two distinct parts to it and it seems disjointed but the fight on the cargo net was one of the best fight scenes in any Bond film. 17. Goldfinger - I used to rate this higher but each rewatch it drops, It’s slow paced (golf isn’t exactly exciting). And the constant use of Connery acting on a set in London then cut to the other actors he is conversing with at the actual locales really bugs me. It also suffers that it is sandwiched between FRWL (Connery’s best film) and TB (Connery’s best acting) C Films 18. Casino Royale - This is a decent action/super-hero movie, highly predictable, but it’s not bond, in fact it comes off as a anti-Bond film. Craig is a dumbed-down brutish Jason Borne/superhero action star with mental stability issues. He would never be able to pass the tests to be a 00 (I know they tried to gloss over this later). Just like Goldfinger's golf, poker for 30 minutes isn’t exactly exciting so let’s drug him (everyone saw that coming but it makes no sense). Don’t get me going on the stupid torture scene. I didn’t find much chemistry between Bond and Vesper and her death was comically unrealistic. 19. Tomorrow Never Dies - 2nd worst villain in the franchise, overly long superhero action sequences that are not very bondesque (NOTE: helicopters don't fly like that). The plot, which was full of holes already, has aged terribly, no chemistry between Wai Lin and Bond, the stupid side plot of Paris and a dull ending. The only reason it is this high is that the acting in the film from everyone was stellar. 20. You only live twice - I find this Connery’s worst, the plot was stupid, the scenes seemed hodge-podged together, the action was choppy. Little Nellie was unbelievable back then and even worse now. And the volcano lair - sheesh, this movie has not aged well. And it was just made to appease the huge Japanese fan base, hence why it spent so much time explaining Japan - a boring sellout. 21. The Man with the Golden Gun - The worlds greatest assassin lures other tops assassins' to his carnival fun house with his midget henchman. Top that with the worst Bond girl, Mary Goodnight and this film fails. Christopher Lee was great and the locale was awesome. D Films 22. Moonraker - Has the best acted scene by Roger Moore - the centrifuge scene. Other than that it is a stinker. 23. Spectre - Dull car chase, Blofeld is reincarnated but he is boring as hell and the plot twist was ridiculous. Highly unrealistic action sequences. Craig acted just like he did in CR and QoS but that is very different than his character acted in SF so there is absolutely no continuity here, as if M never died. Big Fat "F" Film 24. Quantum of Solace - This is the only “F” Bond film, I actually walked out of the theater half-way through it. Worst villain, horrible editing, goofs galore, boring and utterly untenable plot, unrealistic action sequences, schizophrenic bond girl.
Thanks for the great video. I loved hearing you talk about them as you dragged them onto the ranking - very satisfying. I too absolutely LOVE Pierce Brosnan; I almost cheered when you said that his was your favourite era. Mine too. Tomorrow Never Dies would be my favourite, but I completely understand your enthusiasm for GoldenEye. My reaction to Die Another Day is similar to yours to A View To A Kill - I love the camp action, and the car chase you were referring to is one of my favourites too. Your reaction to Quantum of Solace made me laugh a lot: “the opening song is BAD.” I agree that lots of Sean Connery’s ones were either okay or forgettable, even though he himself was very memorable. My Top 10: 1) Casino Royale 2) Moonraker 3) Tomorrow Never Dies 4) The Spy Who Loved Me 5) Goldfinger 6) The World is Not Enough 7) For Your Eyes Only 8) Die Another Day 9) GoldenEye 10) On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
Dude! From Russia with Love and Goldfinger have to be top tier. Best films of the Franchise. Honoruable mentions for Connery's Bond are You Only Live twice and Thunderball Live and Let Die and the Spy who loved me are the best Roger Moore ones. The Living Daylights and Goldeneye are the best of the Modern Era, though I also think The World is Not Enough is a good watch. And yeah the DC era Casino Royale and Skyfall are the top. Really liked No Time to Die though..!
On each tier, they are listed in chronological order, not in order of preference. I don't find any of them truly forgettable (though Tomorrow Never Dies and Quantum of Solace come close), so I'll drop that category. Loved: Dr. No, From Russia with Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, For Your Eyes Only, The Living Daylights, Licence to Kill, Goldeneye, Casino Royale (2006) Liked: Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die, Moonraker, Octopussy, Skyfall Okay: The Spy Who Loved Me, Never Say Never Again, The World Is Not Enough, Spectre, No Time to Die Guilty Pleasure: Casino Royale (1967), A View to a Kill, Die Another Day Bad: Diamonds Are Forever, The Man with the Golden Gun, Tomorrow Never Dies, Quantum of Solace
I am gonna say something that nobody ever says but after I say this people tend to agree with my statement. Take Timothy Dalton and put him in A View ToA Kill and it's a way better film. Young crazy and physical Mayday and Zorin vs Dalton would've been awesome to see them fight honestly. I still enjoy it cause I loved the theme song and feel Grace Jones and Christopher Walken were great villains.
My man put ohmss as forgettable the best film in the series the most beautiful film in the series the most tragic film in the series with the greatest score AND FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE smh
you do realize the craig film spectre is a continuation film so it will connect to no time to die when it gets released and what was wrong with the ending with Spectre
I enjoyed this video. I liked From Russia w/Love, Octopussy & For Your Eyes Only. Thunderball is ok - loved the jet pack but the pacing is a little slow. I thought Die Another Day was bad mainly because of the fx and some cheesy one liners. Everything else is spot on for me. My favorite of all time is The Spy Who Loved Me.
Yes Spy Who Loved Me is without a doubt top 3 best Bond movies easily. It's that and Golden Eye and probably From Russia With Love for me if I had to pick.
Awesome list! Although I've seen all of the "Bond" films, its hard to rank them. But my all time favorite video game "GoldenEye 007" on the "N64" is based on one of the movies.
if u like Miami vice, Licence to kill is a perfect sequals to that 80s tv series. very good film. Brosnan is also my bond, two of my fav gc/ps2/xbox games are 007 Nightfire and 007 everything or nothing
I never understood why Goldfiner was deemed the "gold standard" over Russia. And nothing personal, aa im known for unconvetional Bond opinions. In singing off after putting Russia in the forgettable tier. I cant phathom a reasonable argument for that one.
Shame that you thought You Only Live Twice was forgettable. Granted, I didn't like everything that movie had to offer. I really disliked the "Japanese" disguise that Bond put on, that was just pure cringe, and some of the stereotypes and depictions of Japan are painfully dated. However, on the flip side, this movie has hands down the one of the greatest and most exciting climaxes I've ever seen in a Bond film. That volcano/launch site battle with the ninjas is freakin awesome. And also the helicopter battle too.
@@SuperTiaanBro Same here. And yes indeed. If you cut out the yellowface scene alone, the rest of the movie is actually watchable. And some of the dubbing on the Tiger Tanaka character was a little awkward.
@@DScott-nk1lo Sure thing. The Bond also in the original Ian Fleming novels was also a much darker, borderline villainous character which makes the movie versions much more tame in comparison.
yeah Craig, Connery and Brosnan are my fav actors, but i disnt like the way story is just cut when old m is replaced with other actor and the old one is acting different character, and the swap for woman m was wierd too but overall i liked Dr No the best and From Russia with love second and Skyfall third.

From Russia With Love is the best Connery one, man. You need to rewatch that ASAP
Agreed. It is the most spy thriller Bond movie in the series.
It's Connery's worst
@@westube3493 you know Diamonds are Forever and Never Say Never Again exist right?
@@ScrupulousProd Diamonds are Forever is a much better movie and I don't consider Never Say Never Again and actual James Bond movie
I need to rewatch that one too, didn’t like it so much
Totally, TOTALLY agree regarding GoldenEye, which is my all-time favorite movie (certainly not the best movie of all time, but it's my favorite and the one I watch most often).
Watch For Your Eyes Only again. You will like it.

It's one of the most iconic bond films ever
I get personal preference and I grew up with Peirce Brosnan but Sean Connery is easily my second fav Bond

EXACTLY!!!
Go watch Filmspeak on YT , he made a great analysis about QoS. QoS is not the worst James Bond, in fact 007 has never been so deeper, even in Skyfall IMO. Just go watch Filmspeak defending Quantum of Solace
Rewatch “From Russia With Love”
Also the only good thing in Die Another Day is Halle Berry in a bikini. This movie is trash.

Dramatic start to the coment
Then lol end
Diomands for ever is underrated,
I can see why people don’t like it though
But honestly I liked it 7/10
Also I feel bad for pierce because HE was good but half the movies were bad(okay)
Don't understand why everyone always thinks Skyfall is better than Casino Royale
i also prefer casino royale but i get why some prefer skyfall i think there both very good movies.
A Films
B Films
10. Dr. No
It also suffers that it is sandwiched between FRWL (Connery’s best film) and TB (Connery’s best acting)
C Films
D Films
Big Fat "F" Film
24. Quantum of Solace - This is the only “F” Bond film, I actually walked out of the theater half-way through it. Worst villain, horrible editing, goofs galore, boring and utterly untenable plot, unrealistic action sequences, schizophrenic bond girl.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
Never understood why people dislike Quantum of Solace that much. Overall i agree with this list except about from russia with love
Casino royale should be 1
Thanks for the great video.
My Top 10:
1) Casino Royale
2) Moonraker
3) Tomorrow Never Dies
4) The Spy Who Loved Me
5) Goldfinger
6) The World is Not Enough
7) For Your Eyes Only
8) Die Another Day
9) GoldenEye
10) On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
Fun fact the octopussy book is completely different from the movie also its really good.
Love seeing Moonraker get the love it deserves!!
Where is never say never again? Connery’s last bond film
Never say Never Again was never an official Bond film as it was not made by Ian Productions.
Dude!
From Russia with Love and Goldfinger have to be top tier. Best films of the Franchise.
Honoruable mentions for Connery's Bond are You Only Live twice and Thunderball
Live and Let Die and the Spy who loved me are the best Roger Moore ones.
The Living Daylights and Goldeneye are the best of the Modern Era, though I also think The World is Not Enough is a good watch.
And yeah the DC era Casino Royale and Skyfall are the top.
Really liked No Time to Die though..!
Would like to see you revisit this list once you've re-seen the ones you forgot.
I've seen them all some are just forgettable and I have no interest in seeing the latest one. So I think the list as it is right now still stands.
@@3TopicsReviewer thats why i said RE-seen. unless you mean you wont ever do that. also, can I ask why you don't want to see the new one?
@@crobeastness Hate the ending you don't do that to bond EVER. Some people are ok with it but others are not and I'm one of them.
“Goldeneye is a classic, Skyfall is a masterpiece.” 3topicsgamer 2020
On each tier, they are listed in chronological order, not in order of preference. I don't find any of them truly forgettable (though Tomorrow Never Dies and Quantum of Solace come close), so I'll drop that category.
Loved: Dr. No, From Russia with Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, For Your Eyes Only, The Living Daylights, Licence to Kill, Goldeneye, Casino Royale (2006)
Liked: Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die, Moonraker, Octopussy, Skyfall
Okay: The Spy Who Loved Me, Never Say Never Again, The World Is Not Enough, Spectre, No Time to Die
Guilty Pleasure: Casino Royale (1967), A View to a Kill, Die Another Day
Bad: Diamonds Are Forever, The Man with the Golden Gun, Tomorrow Never Dies, Quantum of Solace
I just recently watched Spectre, and I have a question. What part of the ending did you not like about it?
the entire movie was average
I am gonna say something that nobody ever says but after I say this people tend to agree with my statement. Take Timothy Dalton and put him in A View ToA Kill and it's a way better film. Young crazy and physical Mayday and Zorin vs Dalton would've been awesome to see them fight honestly. I still enjoy it cause I loved the theme song and feel Grace Jones and Christopher Walken were great villains.
I mostly agree myself with these, great tier list!
I Think YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE Should have been put higher
My man put ohmss as forgettable the best film in the series the most beautiful film in the series the most tragic film in the series with the greatest score AND FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE smh
What is the name of that programm/website with the categories?
You put dimonds are forever over you only live twice from Russia with love and on her majesty’s secret service 😂😂
I agree with him
It's soo wrong...
Golden Eye is my fav too
you do realize the craig film spectre is a continuation film so it will connect to no time to die when it gets released and what was wrong with the ending with Spectre
It's that and Golden Eye and probably From Russia With Love for me if I had to pick.
you have the same top 2 as me!!
to the point that i dont know which one i prefer
Awesome list!
Although I've seen all of the "Bond" films, its hard to rank them.
But my all time favorite video game "GoldenEye 007" on the "N64" is based on one of the movies.
Lol not even 4 minutes in and two of the best movies are in "Forgettable"
Do you only live twice before on her majesty’s secret service
i agree that moonraker is good
if u like Miami vice, Licence to kill is a perfect sequals to that 80s tv series. very good film.
I agree man, the stereotypes made me upset considering i'm Asian, otherwise the movie is great.
@@SuperTiaanBro Same here. And yes indeed. If you cut out the yellowface scene alone, the rest of the movie is actually watchable. And some of the dubbing on the Tiger Tanaka character was a little awkward.
The disguise was in the book, which was way better than the movie. Not defending it, but that's where it came from
@@DScott-nk1lo Sure thing. The Bond also in the original Ian Fleming novels was also a much darker, borderline villainous character which makes the movie versions much more tame in comparison.
I love your love for GoldenEye and love your hate for Quantum of Solace.
I snapped my finger and pointed a dozen times at the screen when you called Skyfall the best one. Compleley agree man!
From Russia with Love is the best James Bond film of all time.
I agree, though it is definitely not for everyone. Most people want crazy action set pieces in Bond, From Russia with love is more of a spy thriller.

Goldfinger

yeah Craig, Connery and Brosnan are my fav actors, but i disnt like the way story is just cut when old m is replaced with other actor and the old one is acting different character, and the swap for woman m was wierd too but overall i liked Dr No the best and From Russia with love second and Skyfall third.

the bottom 3 are the only ones i hate. all 3 fake bond films however (Casino Royale (1954), Casino Royale (1967), and Never Say Never Again) are the even worse than that though. I have not yet seen No Time To Die.
1. Timothy Dalton
2. Pierce Brosnan
3. Sean Connery
4. Daniel Craig
5. George Lazenby
6. Roger Moore
the top 4 are really close, but i still like the bottom 2 too.
Haha, the Quantum game was better than that terrible movie but most of the game was based on Casino Royale which is miles better than Quantum so that may have had something to do with it...
