I've been comparing IK Multimedia 1176, LA2A and Fairchild to the UAD counterparts....and for me, I was pleasantly suprised that IK versions held their own and sounded like they added something extra to the sound whereas UAD sounded allot more heavy handed and vanilla sounding. That's my personal opinion
I always felt there's little love for IK multimedia, probably because they look quite "corporate" and not cool and hip, but I've never had any problem and their stuff works perfectly. Glad to see people I respect using their tools as well. T-racks (Classic) was the first plugin pack I bought. I own pretty much all of them now, use them constantly. Great company, great products, great sound. My most-used top 5 would be: - Stealth limiter (It has swept away every other limiter for "mastering" purposes. It is that good) - Amplitube 4 (You can even disable the cab section and work with IRs) - Bus compressor (Can't compare to other products that emulate the same, but for me it works almost every time) - British Channel (I only regret having bought it separately and not having the White channel as well) - CSR Reverbs, especially the Inverse. (Probably not the best sounding reverbs ever, but very very handy) That's just 5, but there are gems like the classic compressor, and other plugins that should be great but I struggle to use like the precision comp/limiter, the vintage 670 and the clipper. The LA2A and 1176 emulations are pretty good but not outstanding in comparison with other options. Still great to have in your arsenal. Maybe the weakest, or most disappointing to me are the quad series. I still use the Quad Image all the time, and for good reason, but every time I use any of the other 3 I feel I'm doing more harm than good, especially compared to other options.
Some T-Racks plugins came free with M-Box and Pro Tools Le way back in the early 2000's and I've always had a soft spot for them ever since. Though I now use Studio One I have about a dozen T-Racks plugins and other than the Stealth Limiter I have all of these and they are superb! 😎
Love Ik multimedia, and hearing how Dave uses it is such awesome insight into what it can be used for... If Dave gets paid for this then even better, I mean we get a free lesson and the option of buying the software win win all round... I hope Dave is one of the richest people around because he has gone so far out his way to bring us into his world...
0:48 - Master EQ 432
2:38 - Amplitube 4
4:00 - T-Racks classic compressor
5:04 - Classic soft clipper
6:45 - Stealth Limiter

Got turned onto the T-Rex classic clipper earlier in 2018. It's an absolute must for all my projects. Gonna have to check out Classic comp.
Hey guys, it seems a bit difficult to demonstrate Mastering processing when the video is broadcasted in mono.
whoops...
T-Rex Classic Comp is brilliant... one of my favourites

I like their linear phase eq quite often for mastering.
That laugh at 3:20 is so beautiful

Eeeek
What was this track he was working on ? Did it get a release ?
ik multimedia's brickwall limiter 😉👍🏾
So if Dave only had IK plugs to master with, is this the only things he would use for the master? Or just the favorites of IK in general?
12k sounds nice!
использую amplitube & compressor
Dave Pensado - this HEAD!
Dave gave away my secret weapon. Lolol

The million dollar question is, can he listen beyond 12k at his age ! Love his work though :-)

Yeah Dave loves him a solid free bundle for 9 minutes of gibberish...
ok adios !!! jajaj
I don’t know why he wouldn’t use UAD for everything, they’re by far the best
Have you found any Plugins that would compare to UAD so far ? Any Plugins that come to mind that are on Par with quality like UAD ?
