Can't wait for the range footage,I love my Mac9 did the same upgrades as you did except for crowning the barrel..things an absolute beast and probably the best deal for a quality 2011 out there.
I just got mine yesterday and it's everything that's talked about really can't hardly tell a difference between this and a staccato I am very impressed
@@SkipsGunz nice work on the MAC9 brother 🫡 I think Bul Armory is about to shake up the 2011 word with their 4.25” Tac Pro Comp. Basically a Staccato XC with a comp block and a ported barrel. It should be available early next year, probably around shot show but maybe even sooner. I’m also trying to get them to make a 3.9” version with a slim grip that uses Sig Macro magazines and has a butler cut on the front like a Pit Viper, or a Desert Eagle, or a Jericho 941. And the slide serrations from a Kimber KDS9C. I think that would be one hell of a CCW
@SkipsGunz AWESOME video, ive been waiting for your review of the MAC 9 DS. I Know you mentioned you replaced the front short sight with a Prodigy front sight, what did you use to upgrade the rear sight? I want to replace the rear sight on the original base plate and the optic plate. And i cannot find any information on that at all online. And SDS/MAC does not offer taller sights for purchase. Thank you for sharing what you do. Much appreciated 🙏
I bought a Mac 9 a few months ago. The pistol felt way over sprung to me so I put in a 11 pound recoil spring in it with an Atlas toolless guide rod and a 17 pound main spring. I didn't care for the factory grip so I put a Cheely E2 grip on it with their fixed beavertail along with a Red Dirt trigger. I adjusted the main spring and now have a consistent 3 pound trigger pull. I'm running a Holosun Comp green dot on it. Overall I couldn't be happier with the Mac 9 with the changes I've made.
You got my prodigy slide and frame to get copper coated like the BnR tactical one. hoping when I get that gun completely finished with the other parts I have, I can send it back to you for you to feature in a video.
I don’t have staccato but I can stipple the original or I have a purple epoxy filled mjd at more then half off or our aluminum grips or miller precision grips
Great video brother! But, I'm looking at the Mac 9 as a next purchase! And I understand that you can change out and swap mags! That's cool....but I heard that other mags won't allow you to "slide lock"?! Do you have any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!
@@SkipsGunz Also..one more thing brother....What holster do you use that fits in that configuration?? (EDC and Range). Thanks again! I'm about to pull the trigger and order mine today! Lol
Damn 2A-Einstein you have me soooooooooo hesitant and somewhat down. I was waiting for this video but didn't expect this... I was sending my MAC 9 to you but now I think for what? I was expecting Einstein innovation on it. Is it built that good? Talk to me bruh..! 😎
Nice video review. Got a question for you. Do you think the tisas ds carry slide will fit on the Mac ds frame using the bull barrel and recoil system of the Mac?
I knew it was just a matter of time before you got your hands on one. Very good review. I am very pleased with mine. Haven’t done any changes in it yet , except changing to a lighter recoil spring and tool less guide rod system. 👍🏼
@@SkipsGunz i am actually. Does it matter what gen it is? And does the Mac 9 magwell fit the staccato grip? I was considering just stippling the Mac grip but i feel the staccato is a better quality, where can i find your email i don’t have any form of social media. Semper Fi
Hell no it isn't a Staccato... I've handled some, and they were not impressive whatsoever. Looks nice but the quality on the 4 I've handled were horrible not to mention the grip is not grippy lol
I got my hands on a couple myself and I actually think they’re the best bang for your buck, as far as the new cheap 2011’s go. They were all pretty nicely fit and finished. I like the bull barrel and others give you a bushing barrel. I agree the grips aren’t anything to write home about, but those are easily upgraded. I would’ve given it a longer rail section and better slide serrations like KDS9C has on it, but all in all, it’s a home run for 800 bucks, all day long. You can buy 3 of them before you can buy a new Staccato 🤷🏻♂️ and if you have any skill, you can really tune them up and customize them to be super nice guns. But if your idea of fun is spending 280 bucks plus tax and shipping for 4 magazines…..then go ahead and get a Staccato 🫡 personally I think staccato quality has dropped now that they’re just a production gun, no longer handmade and hand fit and finished like they were when it was SVI and STI. You’re just paying for a name and a status symbol now. The XC is the only one worth getting because the island barrel requires it to have tighter tolerances. All the other guns in their line up can be made at home if you have any skills, and that’s a fact.
This review makes it clear that you don’t have to break the bank for quality.

This might be a fun project gun!! I didnt understand though if the internals were good, why you changed them out with egw parts?
Wanted to just super fine tune it so I tossed those in the TWC n used egw for now
When you added the 7mm Atlas base pads to the Tisas mags, did you need to add longer follower springs as well?
I’m sold on this after watching the review. Can’t wait to get
Wish I coulda pulled the trigger sending mine in. Ehh, life. 😅 The modifications look great, very subtle. Is the rear sight still OEM?
Always later.
Yes oem rear site

8 or 9 lbs.

Recoil spring and buffer.
Tooless guiderod keyed reverse plug
