  • Car Chronicles: "This Toyota Crown Royal Saloon is a Treasured Family Legacy"
    Presented by Kick-Start Coffee
    Owning and driving a Toyota Crown is a status symbol and a sign of achievement for dignified "older gentlemen" in Japan. Francis Samonte's Toyota Crown not only continues this distinct characteristic in the Philippines, but this unique 1998 Royal Saloon also carries a heartwarming family legacy.

    Love this car not only on how it looks but how it drives. Testament of both Japanese engineering and luxury
    I dream of owning one someday.

    Video served as a reminder to cherish the lessons we learn from our fathers. My dad and I purchased my Royal Saloon and this video struck a chord with me

    My Grand pop used to have one of these when I was a kid. I still remember the smell of the interior! 😊

    I've never seen one with a left hand drive and obviously never seen one in Philippines. Are they super rare?

    • @tprandomvideo
      @tprandomvideo 2 місяці тому

      Its not really "rare" but rather uncommon because these are considered upmarket cars and only the rich can afford one while they were still sold.
      Crowns were both assembled and sold in the Philippines between the 1960s until around 2000 before Lexus entered our market. The most common crowns you'll see in Philippine streets are the 8th gen crowns both the pre-facelift and facelift. There are still a bunch of older generations here as I have seen a 1978 model roaming somewhere in Manila.

      @@tprandomvideo I very much appreciate the detailed reply!
      I've always loved the crown majesta, sadly all crown models that have reached Europe are RHD and not many spots in Europe do conversions so I was obviously very pleasantly surprised to see them naturally existing in LHD!
      I spent significant time living in Philippines on & off and have never seen one out in the wild. Didn't even know about them being assembled in PH!
      Thanks for the story and the eye opening information. Sheesh, I hope I get to purchase one in the future :)
