Last day for this cruise on Holland America's Oosterdam.
Stopping at Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.
Little San Salvador Island, also called Half Moon Cay, is a tiny private island in the Bahamas. Accessible by cruise ship, it's known for the long, crescent-shaped Half Moon Beach. Luxury cabanas dot the beachfront, which gives way to trail-lined country rich in birdlife. Half Moon Lagoon Aqua Park has water slides and playgrounds. Stingray Cove, a lagoon enclosure, is home to tame stingrays.
Port of Half Moon Cay: An Overview. In 1997, Holland America Line purchased Little San Salvador from its previous owners for a cool $6 million. Today, the 2,400-acre island is known as Half Moon Cay and serves as a private retreat for passengers on the line's Caribbean and Panama Canal sailings.
Half Moon Cay also serves as a nature preserve as Holland America takes great strides to maintain the ecosystem of this pristine island as only 45 acres of the 2,500 acre island have been developed. Half Moon Cay mostly is mostly a deserted island when ships are not in port no more than 20 year round caretakers reside on the island.
I'm pretty sure that Carnival Cruise Lines uses it as their private island as well.
Workers from Eleuthera Island come to work at the Fort San Salvador Welcome Center marketplace along with staff members from the cruise ship that work in the cafeteria style food serving area that is not far from the swimming area of beach. Half Moon Cay has been voted the "Best Private Island" by Porthole Magazine for four consecutive years.
Side note ... even though I brought my DJI Mavic Pro drone and did aerial photography and cinematography? I do not suggest or recommend that you do the same. I did get special permission to do so.

Did you have any issue flying a drone in Bahamas? Going in March and planning on bringing my DJI Spark.
I don’t think you’ll have a problem. Especially with the spark.
I just make it a point to fly it (launch / land) away from where people are. Especially where there are people that look like they’ll say no (security guards)
I messed up the first two uploads.
I had to go back and fix the final cut. Twice.
