- Seeing as my hair is very long and manages to grow SUPER fast, today I thought I would share some little tips and tricks that I have picked up along the way to get my hair to the length it is! From 13-17 years old I struggled to experience any REAL growth in my hair due damage (both heat and bleach). I damaged my hair to the point where it snapped off in some areas, causing me to have to get layers cut throughout the top of it to even it out. My shortest layers were at about eye level and if I had to guess it took me just over 3 years to grow my hair to completely to all the same length! So whether you're trying to grow out layers, dye or just generally want to grow your hair, I hope this video is helpful to you! And by the way, I hope you're having a great day xoxoxox

TIPS IN THIS VIDEO:
1) Consider hair, skin and nails vitamins. Consult someone before hand!
2) Wash your hair, just not daily.
3)Get Trims, just not too often, or not often enough. Find the perfect balance for you.
4) Gently brush your hair for a few minutes when you get into bed, this is also a great way to disperse the natural oils through your hair.
5) Reduce the amount of heat you used on your hair by incorporating heat-less hairstyles into your routine, turning down the heat on your tool and trying to make your heat styles last more than just one day.
6) Use a heat protectant when you are using heat.
7) Recommendation - Not a tip :') - Take a before photo so you can track process, it's slow, but trust me, it's growing! :)

Combing is a lot better than brushing, and only when the hair is dry. Avoiding shampoos like Pantene, Aussie, and Pert or Prell is a good tip, too. She means take photos to record progress, I believe.

I am totally the same, I have always thought that way about tv and movie stars, never see them with windswept hair! When I go out in the wind, it's flying in my face, I can't see..... then get home to knots! I don't like to brush too often as it seems to release more grease, which means more washing!

Im pretty sure but I'm not certain but i think the her blue eyes are colored contacts because when she showed the pictures of her when she was younger and had shorter lighter layered hair she had DARK BROWN eyes!

There's a reason for that. When you wash your hair every day your hair is constantly being stripped of oil, so your scalp tries to make up for it by producing even more to try to stop the damage. I spent years washing my hair almost every day, and my hair always liked like shit. it was always oily or bone dry no matter what I did. When I first started washing it twice a week, it stayed oily for about two or three weeks, then my hair adjusted and produced normal amounts of oil. it takes a good 4 to 5 days now before it gets oily. I also don't have as much breakage. It sucks at first, but if you can make it the first few weeks the payoff is worth it.
Roses1645 true I did that because when I go to school I have to strait my hair and then they get greasy so I have to wash it and it happens everyday but yh don't wash ur hair every day or usually cause it's not gonna stop from ur hair gettin greasy😂😇

i have to wash it everyday because i am a swimmer and the chlorine hecka damages it but on days that i don’t have practice or a meet, (when i get in the shower) i just put conditioner in.

OK, so I have really weird hair because it gets all frizzy/tangled up unless I brushed it after a shower which makes it have different types of curls (naturally, usually it does that after it has been wet but if I don't brush it it looks like a bird's nest).
Also I have really thick hair so I don't know what I should do since I've heard (and you said) that we shouldn't brush our hair when it is wet, but it is easier for me to brush, and when it is dry my hair feels more tangled... :(
But then again me and my mom have similar hair and she also brushes it after a shower and her hair looks and feels healthy... Any tips?

I personally think that you should only trim your hair if you have split ends. It'll look better, and in the long run you'll have to cut off less hair

Kimmy R it depends on what you do to your hair and how oily your hair is on it's own. if you condition well and use cool or lukewarm water everyday with oily hair it wont cause much harm but if your hair is normal to dry it needs to be every other day or every third day.

my hair is down towards my shoulders and for the past 2 months or whatever ive been putting coconut oil in my hair and now my hair is growing. I haven't seen how long it is because it's been up in braids or pony tail right now but it's about to get taken out and most importantly if you guys have weeve in your hair and you let it stay in there for a long time, your hair will grow and that's how I hardly found out my hair was really growing and I'm extremely excited about it and you guys should too......
