Robert Hart i get much watching dwan play. this one works with players you have played against. online people go ufc and go all in. but i like that line bluffing from the beginning.
That's my problem with Doug. He won't recognize that Tom would make crazy floats and calls against certain players that he knew he could out play. No one can be critical of him on this show, he made tons of money. Sometimes your cards don't matter if you are better. Math guys just don't understand. Dwan is both, math guy and soul reader
My dad has known Eli for 24 years, heart of Gold, great businessman my dad's company did a ton of roofing work for him over the years & one thing I know is unfortunately he is down in cash games millions of dollars over the last decade alone.
Hey Doug could you analyze the hand from PCA 2013 100k where Doc Sands jams on Phil Ivey's 52s pair + combo draw? Thanks for your videos so far, great content!
you mentioned checking on the turn to get an idea of what dwan was playing with which would help you not get pushed around is there any other moves/strategies that would help you not get pushed around?
Hey Doug. If Eli did in fact have the top of his range here, AK, KQs for example, would you fire off three, or would you check the turn? On the one hand, this board makes it particularly difficult for Dwan to have value hands that are going to call down 3 streets. There's not many 3s in his range (although the 104s call might suggest otherwise) and if you have KQ, AQ you block Dwan from having a Qx hand. This means Dwan will probably have a tonne of 78-JTcc type hands, perhaps JJ-88 type hands and floats. If they have floats or flush draws, you can c/c two streets and get max value. If they have JJ-88 they will probably check turn back and you can go for value otr. On the other hand, if you're checking turn here with AQ, KQ, it means you're checking turn 100% of the time. This is a bit problematic because if you get to the turn with a bluff then you're in a bit of a bad spot. You can't really c/r with any of your value range here so you don't have any credible c/r bluffs. Additionally, checking turn and then bluffing otr when they check back turn is a pretty strange line and bluffs would probably be pretty heavily discounted. This makes it pretty easy to check back JJ-88 ott (which is a huge bulk of Dwan's range here imo) and fold to riv bet because your opponent is so unbalanced. Do you solve this by perhaps checking AK, KJs, JTs type hands (which block Qx combinations) ott and firing them otr? Thanks :)
Since you like trolling a lot, I thought maybe you could an analysis of the $500k blind poker pot ( one where they all put $100k pre flop without looking at their cards on PAD) and like really go in depth about it like you do with your other analysis. Think that might be pretty funny. Anyways doug keep up the good content!
Cool tips - thanks for sharing games and info! Especially cool point about considering a 4B here pre. Good luck, all - find those spots - never give up - have fun!
I love your commentary. I want to see you do some videos on Mckeehan or hellmuth. Two very unorthodox players. Tom dwan has to be one of my favorite players
Hey doug, Loved the video. Can you explain your comment on the river where you said, (in regards to elezra) "He would have to check the river bet the turn and bet the flop." You were describing the chances of him having a queen in that spot. I understand what you're saying, but I am not 100% sure on kind of your thoughts behind it. Thanks!
If Eli bets the turn, and Tom calls, Tom is now more likely to have a queen, which is bad for his hand. If he checks, Tom has his range of hands that calls the flop, not flop+turn, so Tom is more likely to be bluffing/have air
@@DougPolkPoker not so sure buddy. what is ELI is targeting KK or AA , that just called in position - then the TURN bet makes total sense. river non-call is dumb , but we are talking about the turn bet here.
Absolute train-wreck hand from Eli. I like the way he played it until the river. Now Tom has to bet his entire bluff range as well as Qs or 3s. Since it's Dwan he has far more bluffs than boats hence insta-call.
Yes I agree with the board two pair, the possible flush draw and Dwan’s loose play, when Eli checks the river, a river bet from Dwan like that is more likely a bluff, so has to be a call
Lots of comments on Eli's turn bet, which seems to have lost him control of the hand. I'm interested in understanding what would be the play if Eli checked the turn and Tom then bet $30k into him?
Doug could you make a video about staples puting out clickbait titles just to stay afloat and be able to to continute losing money in online/live poker. Why people donate money to this guy? +Doug Polk Poker
too small of a bet from dwan getting too good odds to call specially agains Tom. Would like to see his play now and how itnchangesd over past years :) and i believe u 2 Doug :)
Dwan doesn't doesn't represent too may value hands on the river so if he is going to bluff with all missed club draws and some missed heart draws then he's probably way too unbalanced on the river. If he were to overjam, then using T4 would make more sense no?
In general against a loose player or someone who considers themselves the so called table captain, I am calling here mainly to show the rest of the table that I won't be bluffed out (in a cash game). I think Eli folds here either because he thought he picked up something with Tom's bet sizing, or he was under-rolled and didn't want to walk away stuck.
it's seems petty to cut up the plays these guys make. I like your analysis. keep it concise with less digs at the player. keep it positive. keep the cursing on high. I love that shit. next episode. swearing lile a sailor while doing the disection. ps I love you
Howard I totally agree. BUT, that's also why Dwan is/was one of the absolute best high stakes cash players....He's SO good at mixing his range. Eli had 0 idea where he was in the hand, what other hand would flat the flop AND turn just to bet the river? Answer: one with a Q in it and ONLY a Q. Tom KNEW 100% Eli didn't have a Q once he checked the river, and like Doug said, there was only a slim chance Eli 3-bet preflop with a Q in his hand anyway... Tom knew that and played it perfectly when his flushdraw missed.
Exactly. It is absolutely inconsequential to fire for thin value on the turn here, just to give it away because you realize you lost control over the pot on the river. Especially as Eli should know that he has a Q only rarely in this spot.
Doug Polk. Do you naturally talk like that? Just wondering. Not saying its bad but its interesting how you go high low low high high low low high in 1 word. Jk lol
How can anyone dislike Tom Dwan? Man, I miss watching him play Poker.

agreed. oh and also, agreed.
you think dwan is better than ivey or doyal or danny negrurno?
@@royalflush8173 definitely better than danny negrurno since he doesnt exist
Thanks for your break down Doug, your break down has help take my game to the next level, thanks Doug !!!

Nothin' like a Doug Polk channel add before a Doug Polk video :3
You are probably not logged in on your subbed account, or youtube was like "ok lets fuck this guy up".
Greetings Finland Doug! :). 5/5 videos! :)
Welcome to the channel! Thanks :D
Thx! :D
I do videos too, but mainly food videos :)

Loving these daily uploads Doug. Living in Australia it's what I wake up to every day with the morning coffee.

Dwan just casually talking about being stuck 100 and something thousand like its nothing.
SlickRex gave you a big shout when you left, you are aweome dude!
Really enjoying your videos. Many reputations are not deserved, yours is
You should pay Tom a fee for starring in most of your videos :)
I love your commentary. I want to see you do some videos on Mckeehan or hellmuth. Two very unorthodox players. Tom dwan has to be one of my favorite players
Was hoping for an analysis of how much Dean should bet on the river for an effective bluff. Kinda sad he skipped over the bluff size.
Dom Twan puts pot huge spot Elezra. Poker.
polker after doug?
falafel rollo lame?
I live for this shit

yo doug, have you thought of naming the video "Tom Dwan Puts Eli Elezra In A Tough Spot For A Huge Polker Pot"
That was pretty "Whitty"
Where'd you get the shirt?
Absolute train-wreck hand from Eli. I like the way he played it until the river. Now Tom has to bet his entire bluff range as well as Qs or 3s. Since it's Dwan he has far more bluffs than boats hence insta-call.

Tom Dwan - pure inspiration ...
Great work as usual Doug
Playing poker for this much money just blows my mind that's a fucking house in 1 hand

Just doing what weaksauce1234 does. Showing support! Keep them coming!
that preflop action
what season is this
Lots of comments on Eli's turn bet, which seems to have lost him control of the hand. I'm interested in understanding what would be the play if Eli checked the turn and Tom then bet $30k into him?
At HSP Elezra seemed to get enough of Dwan at some point, I think he'd call river on that show
I see Tom Dwan is still trying to grow that mustache (9:04), how long's it been now, three months or so?
He works on it in his sleep.
its cool that a high stakes balla isnt all full on nerd and is also a really handsome chap
im talking about you Doug
If Elezra checks turn, you think Dwan will check turn?
Dwan using his super powers again
Per usual
I remember this hand well !! .. was Tom abducted by aliens??
lol omg I got this joke
which two?
Eli re raised to 16k because it was Tom Dwan, He expected him to fold as well as kaplan . Im surprised Dwan called that.
word on the street is that Likes on videos are more significant to YT than ever before...
Yeah, I think that is happening.
Tom Dwan must be ballsiest player ever. I've lost count of the times he's pulled off huge bluffs. Was it one bluff too many though?
Doug could you make a video about staples puting out clickbait titles just to stay afloat and be able to to continute losing money in online/live poker.
Why people donate money to this guy? +Doug Polk Poker
looool
Well Doug mentioned he has to do clickbait himself to make his channel grow, so it would be a bit hypocritical to talk about Jamie doing the same...
***** +1 doug doesnt include flase information in his titles
***** Yeah I guess that's a good point, no argument.

Totally agree Adam, sometimes you gotta put your foot down
Who the fuck is breathing so heavy.
Eli really loves to lose. I think he gets off on it
fold and live to fold again-stu ungar
I thought the stu ungar quote was
"call me once shame on you, but call me twice, lets go do some lines"
didnt know that 1
I Love Tom !

Insightful and hilarious as always!
How's your twin brother Rudolph doing?
xxxViceroyxxx I'm sorry for the brain damage you're suffering.
xxxViceroyxxx what's bad? I don't know what you're talking about, hence the original reply. String together coherent sentences, it's not that hard.
he was humouring you trolling him about having brain damage, guy.
Poor play by Elezra. Either check on the turn or call on the river.
JMHO
Howard
I totally agree.
