This year's state of the nation address comes on the back of a myriad of challenges facing the nation. President Cyril Ramaphosa says he will appoint a Minister of Electricity in the Presidency. Ramaphosa says this is to deal effectively and urgently with the power challenges that are facing the country.

No disrespect but Ramaphosa speaks like a real businessman who doesn’t wanna give workers an increase while when they on strike after this I doubt he will make any changes to the struggle of the youth,unemployment, crime, load shedding etc all the issues the country is having are not by mistake but cause of bad leadership and bad infrastructure resulting in floods destroying them as a young South African citizen I’m very disappointed in the party that our mothers and grandma thought was going to give light to the youth

Instead of just pumping money towards people through social grants. How can each of these people contribute atleast an hour of their time per month towards building our communities and economy? Surely these people should possess atleat one talent required towards building our beloved South Africa. One hour each person in exchange for social grant, South Africa can accelerate service delivery and community building.
I like the idea. Not only society or government will benefit. I'll be what I call "on the job skill" One will display his or her passion and skill for that specific field volunteered. Gain experience and so government can employ right the right person for the job.

@@suzygirl1843 bro this is what happens in SA , Government has legislated the policy that set standard minimum wage is R23,29/hr ,,, but businesses don,t want to pay that due to inefficiencies which result to tight profit margins.
Companies/Business opt to go for foreign labour simple bcz they accept R9-15/hr , these foreigners not bcz they are happy with its bcz most of them dont even have ID/Passport to be here so they take anything.
In that way the same policies set by Government is being undermined by that business practice, and as a result you will find a situation where RSA Citizen youth is always remain 2nd option for employement , hence 60% unemployment ,
In short Business deliberately opt for a foreigner bcz they can be exploited without having to face the bridge of law and its administrative consequences ..
Yes i do agree with u foreigner do work in RSA but u must know that the law of SA (minimum wage act) is undermined by Bunisess community together with foreigner,, but u cnt blame Business bcz of high operational cost in SA include issues with load shedding and so many other factors, and u cannot also blame foreigners cz they left their countries bcz or terreble livelihood they subjected to so they jst take whatever and get exploited. you call it work becuase you speak from position of privilege's and its only convenient to u to say that because you from first-world top tier countries.
We have a structural ploblem created by government , our policies were taken from somewhere and they are not in harmony with what happening in reality and no one boader to relook at them, hence unpleasant unemployment condition.
