Switchback VS Cholla Cactus: Demonstration of Removing Cactus and Wound Care

- None of us are perfect at heeding our own advice! I should have known better than to venture out into the cacti in my flip flops, even "just for a minute," and nature quickly reminded me. At least I had the tools to take care of it safely.

OH wow OUCH! Yeah definately wear shoes in the desert!! You are so brave pulling out those needles!
I literally had to put on my ER nurse brain and be like, what would we end up doing? It's just going to get pulled out similarly to this, but it'll have sat there for X number of time first. I knew it would hurt for a sec, but then be better than it was, and thankfully, I was right! But I will DEFINITELY always be carrying a comb handy in the desert now- AND wearing SHOES!!
Ouch! Glad you had what you needed to take care of it.
Me too! Thankfully by the next day it wasn't bothering me.
I think that hurts! I guess going out there on flipflops wasn't the best idea! 😮
I hope you're ok and it healed well ...
Happy Easter! Kaat
Thanks Kaat! Yeah, I knew better when I got out of the car, and should have changed into my shoes! Lesson definitely learned! Happy Easter!
Thanks for the video! Good info for when I go to desert next!
Hopefully information you'll never need! 😂
@@WanderingSwitchback Aint that the truth!
I've got my first pair of Crocs simply because of that sort of thing. I used to just wear flip-flops around camp
Crocs definitely would have been a safer option!
@@WanderingSwitchback I didn't like Crocs thought they were the dumbest looking shoes ever ,,,,But did I gotta pair with dinosaurs and gummy bears for bling lol 🧸 🦕🦖
@@UncleGeorgeTV I love it! I haven't added "charms" onto any of mine yet, but I have several pairs, including ones that have huge rainbows on them! They may be kinda silly looking, but I wear mine a lot!
Everything in the desert stings, sticks, stabs, or bites! Even sneakers don't protect against a lot of it.
So true!
Oh no!!! I’m so sorry!
Not an experience I’d recommend! Thankfully completely healed within a couple of days.
Ouch! That looks painful. I'm a weirdo full hiking boots girl. Now I remember why, LOL.
That would have definitely fared better in this situation!
Ow ow ow ow ow ow!
Yeah, not an experience I recommend!
Everything in the desert is trying to kill you!!! Lol
Pretty much! 😂
OUCH
Definitely!
