  • None of us are perfect at heeding our own advice! I should have known better than to venture out into the cacti in my flip flops, even "just for a minute," and nature quickly reminded me. At least I had the tools to take care of it safely.

I literally had to put on my ER nurse brain and be like, what would we end up doing? It's just going to get pulled out similarly to this, but it'll have sat there for X number of time first. I knew it would hurt for a sec, but then be better than it was, and thankfully, I was right! But I will DEFINITELY always be carrying a comb handy in the desert now- AND wearing SHOES!!

I think that hurts! I guess going out there on flipflops wasn't the best idea! 😮
I hope you're ok and it healed well ...

Thanks Kaat! Yeah, I knew better when I got out of the car, and should have changed into my shoes! Lesson definitely learned! Happy Easter!

I've got my first pair of Crocs simply because of that sort of thing. I used to just wear flip-flops around camp

Crocs definitely would have been a safer option!

@@UncleGeorgeTV I love it! I haven't added "charms" onto any of mine yet, but I have several pairs, including ones that have huge rainbows on them! They may be kinda silly looking, but I wear mine a lot!

Everything in the desert stings, sticks, stabs, or bites! Even sneakers don't protect against a lot of it.
