I don't refer to mine as a nature garden. I call it charming neglect. The toads, bugs, bees etc seem to enjoy it and the neighbors don't complain. Thanks for the video.
Charming neglect? I love it! 😂 hope you don't mind if I steal that term? It true though, the best thing one can do for a nature garden is to stop gardening 😁 Although I prefer a happy medium where I'm still needed 😅 Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, it was a job that fitted quite well with me. I've been working towards organic gardening and trying to create wildlife/garden spaces. And this guy did it 60 years ago 🤣 I learned a lot from him. Thanks so much for your comment 😊 Martin
So nice to see someone working in an actual garden instead of a soulless stretch of grass. I love the moss on the concrete edging. I want to cry when I see blokes pressure clean it all off.
I totally agree, it's all part of the eco system. I'll only break out the pressure washer for really slippy and dangerous surfaces. But I hardly ever clean walls or ornaments. I've actively grown moss in the past 🤣 it looks wonderful. Moss, flowers, bugs, and birds. I can't get enough ☺️ Hope you enjoyed the video. There will be more on the way. All the best Martin
Oh thanks so much for that lovely comment. It really was a wonderful place. It all felt so wild and adventurous. A little bit of rain to green it up and it'll be even better. I've also sown some wild flowers around the edges below the fence, so I hope they turn out well. Thanks again for the comment Martin
Oh, I'm glad you think so Debbie 🙂 it's not to everyone's taste. But it was beautifully wild. He did it all the work himself as well, 50 years ago 👏 and he'd have been middle aged then 🤣 what a guy.
I love this one, weeding and clean up. And you even swept out his little houses. What a neat little garden, and I am so glad yuou knew what is weed and what was planted for the garden. I very much enjoyed this video!

You cleaned up just what needed done- in my prime I could not do any better! Thank you so much for helping this gentleman... two men after my own heart.

Thanks again for the comment, All the best Martin
Ah Martin, I don't think you are past your prime at all! Yes, heat is rough the older we get. Remember when we could work all day in the heat and hardly feel it? I do miss those days. I am an old lady of 65, and have to severely limit my time in my garden now. An hour is my max now. And I still will feel it the next day. Luckily, I adopted two kids, the youngest of whom is now 16. He is my big helper, doing the walking back and forth while I do the chores that require knowledge. Best to you, too.@@martinthegardenguy
Oh I'm glad you enjoyed it, it was difficult finding a balance.....but thankfully nature had already shown me which bits to leave well alone 😊 and to just do enough so he could enjoy his garden again. Thanks for the comment, it always refreshing to know more and more people are appreciating nature in their gardens, even if its just a pile of twigs and logs in a corner. It all helps 👍😁
Love Pete's garden! Not many people bag and remove clipping, nice work!!!! I think it looks neater! Just found your videos, love them. Keep up the great work!

@@martinthegardenguy Hi martin I’m in Surrey/West Sussex area down south east been very busy I’ve only really been doing the videos 8 months or so but great fun not easy when busy at work but I always try my best to get something up
I love interacting with other gardeners on UA-cam like you I watch a few of the channels on here lol
It’s nice to reply to comments and make new friends along the way
Have a great evening and rest of the week I look forward to your next video I’ve turned on the notification bell too 💚💪🏼
I am 58, my husband 70. Our house covered with all concrete including the garden. No weeds, less work. We use pots😂😂😂😂
What ever works for you 👍 I've seen some truly amazing gardens that were 100% container gardens.
Gardens should be personalized 😁👍

Yes disturbing the grass brings up the mozzies , here in NewZealand we are inundated with midges this season, will calm closer to Winter, not outside so much

What are the real tall long stalks?
Oh, which stalks. Can you send me a time stamp on where in the video you mean, and I'll try and answer 😁
@@martinthegardenguy I found it. 18:47. You squatting, grew square shape plant container and then the long one piece long leaves. Might be near the pic of pond?
Thank you
Oh, I think you may be talking about the Water Iris.
Hopefully, anyway, I watched myself on that time stamp about 6 times 😂
I never realized I look that chunky on camera 😅😁
@@martinthegardenguy that’s probably it. Just wanted to find out what they were! Thanks!
I have a friend of mine that lives in the northeast part of England. I truly enjoy watching the transformations. Awesome job!
Hahaha, no worries. I love a good mystery 😁 always ask, and I'll do my best to answer. It's never a problem.
I'm glad you're liking the content, it means a lot to me. So thank you 😊 🙏
