Great days for speedway ,back them lots of top riders everybody new them , poor Jerzy not as good in England as Poland I wish I could turn the clock back. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Remember this meeting well ( I would have been 16ish ) big crowd good cometary all the names came flooding back great times Today possible 95% sport is football that I cant bear to watch🤠🤠
Was a great Wimbledon dons fan in the days... Ronnie Moore... Trevor hedge... Cyril maidment...slim Jim Tebby...was gutted when Tommy jansson died...would have been a world champion...RIP Tommy
@@Kurt_Steiner did you see Tommy race while he was at Dons? I was 10 with my Mum so dont remember him. (I remember Soren Sjosten very well who was racing at this event...just remembering Chris Pusey, Alan Wiko, Paul Tyrer too) then did another stint with my mates at 14. Tommy was already dead by then. Dont remember Collins from when i was 10 either. It was all about Mauger although he moved to Exeter. I remember Wilko breaking his back
Speedway as I remembered it...when GB/England ruled the world and riders just rolled up to the tapes and waited for them to go up (or took a chance at anticipating them). None of this ridiculous two minutes of gardening you get now before every race and so, so many delays for stoppages. Yes, it has become so much more professional over the last 50 years, but it has also lost a lot of its rough and ready charm along the way. That's my view anyway.
Rubbish! Nz ruled the world, mainly riders from Christchurch: Ronnie Moore, Barry Briggs, Mick Holland, Trevor Redmond, Brian McKeown, Laurie Holland, Dick Campbell, etc.
