I was just watching a video for LP Adventure rear differential skid plate, it uses the existing bolts and no need to remove bolts the skid plate lines right up slides over the bolts. It also doesn't sit as low.
Hey ! Hope all is well. I was looking to order these skid plates. Are you happy with them? Did you ever find a transmission plate? Curious because the dealership doesn’t know anything about these plates. Thanks!!
Hi Brian, all is well! thanks for asking and hope you are doing well as well. I am content with my skid plates and works well for my light off-roading trips but if you are planning to go heavy off-roading, I would not recommend them. and No.. I didn't get the transmission skid plates and I don't think I need to but this is where I got both of the plates www.subaruwarehousedirect.com/oem-parts/subaru-transmission-under-guard-e515san100?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwncWvBhD_ARIsAEb2HW_n7o7sUTZkJ56xYwT_YB1PxZoXPU0N1QygRlxckq8DLIdJyRvLNo4aAotgEALw_wcB looks like it's still a special order item.
You did a good job. Just invest in some decent tools. You can keep an eye out on marketplace or Offerup for the Snapon an Matco tools. A good set of torque wrenches will help you also. I noticed you broke loose the bolt for the diff mount with a half inch breaker bar. But you tightened them with the little 3/8 rachet. I'd check the torque spec on that an check it. Having good tools does not mean you need an impact gun. I was happy to see you work by hand !
Hello. Thank you for your comment and really appreciate it. Yes a good set of tools will go long ways. Cry once, buy once. And the half-inch breaker bar you were referring to is my torque wrench. And I did torque them down to the factory specs. But good looking out!! 👌
Hello Logick3, thank you for your comment and so far I am not hitting the diff guard. Bottoming out is also depend on your driving line and skill. So if you know you might bottom out, try taking it at an angle if you can. So far no issues and I am happy with it!
Question on the engine slid plate: why does the plastic plate need to be drilled since the bolts go through w/o modification and the spacer / threaded piece attaches to the frame. Am I not seeing it clearly as to why?
Great job. You’re right, Seems odd the rear differential plate is so much lower. Cheers
Thanks 👍
I was just able to purchase the eng, trans, and gas tank skid plates (OEM) also. 98.00 each. Much cheaper than Primative or the other one.
I've been looking everywhere for the gas tank skids. 😩 that is also a very good price!

Thank you Ross for your comment. Much appreciated!

Ditto.
Anderson Design and Fabrication has the engine skid plate you really wanted. Covers a much larger area and looks to be more robust..
Hello, thank you for your comment and I will definitely look into your recommendation.
What about Rallitek?
@@Daniel-Weaver rallitek is also a nice one!
nice job. any updates on the differential guard hitting more than the rest of the car? that does seem like a concern if it hangs much lower

Hi Chad, the bolt will go through the hole but you need to drill those 4 holes for the spacer. bolts go through the spacers.
IS THIS CAN FIT FOR 2022 WRX? thx

How does it effect oil changes?
Hello Howard, non at all. I haven't done it personally but the dealership didn't say anything.
