Hi i’ve watched your video and I liked what I have been watching but does heart Failure also cover if you’re already having tachycardia and bradycardia with afibrillation got a pacemaker in does that also come under heart failure to
I was diagnosed with hf 9 years ago. Started smoking 3 years after diagnosis but gave up smoke November 7, 2023.Gave up medication (enalapril)in 2019 until 2022 and started again with furosemide and spanK. Ive lived over 9 years now with ankle edema, ascites, SOB but I think I might have been diagnosed incorrectly. I kind of am trying to give up all medication 3 days before this post. Furosemide and Spanks kind of gave me shocking pain to my left chest. On the first dose, peed 12 times and realized my two legs become so skinny and company with shocking chest pain i gave up. ANY ADVICE ON THIS?
Sounds like Russian roulette and not like something you should be consulting UA-cam comment sections about if you're at all serious about not exiting this world.
Hi! Just wanted to clarify. 15:23 you mention beta blockers causing vasoconstriction and how this lowers SVR. Wouldn't SVR actually be increased since the vessels are clamping down? And wouldn't that be counter-productive to the reason we're giving the beta blocker in the first place?
Hey Cynthia. Sorry for the confusion and listening to that part I certainly could have stated things a bit better. So while I started off mentioning about beta blockers, I then talked about what the activation of the beta receptors (15:16) by the sympathetic nervous system would lead to, including increased HR, contractility and vasoconstriction (which yes would be increased SVR). I then go on to talking about how by blocking the activation of these receptors (15:28) that we would see decreased HR, decreased workload of the heart, and vasodilation (decreased resistance to beat against). Hopefully that makes sense and again sorry I wasn't a bit more clear with that.

What an amazing video! I’m curious, would it be normal to see elevated troponins in HF or fluid overload due to the chronic strain?

Enjoyed the series. As a suggestion, maybe mention the commonly used drug names along with their classification. Thank you for simplifying HF.

You bet!
I was recently diagnosed with heart failure and prescribed a statin, atorvastatin teva. I see you don't mention this drug?
Thank you. Excellent presentation.
Thank you Lee!
You’re amazing!!! This is awesome
Thank you!
Great video! So even after heart transplant , HF cannot be cured but only can improve quality life of the patient.
After heart transplant would be a different story as you'd have a new heart. You just can't cure HF in the current heart.
Good videos on heart failure . Is there anything I can do nutritionally for my heart ?
Look up the book "How Not to Die" it talks vastly about nutrition, specifically related to heart diseases and heart failure. Very informative!
Hi! Just wanted to clarify. 15:23 you mention beta blockers causing vasoconstriction and how this lowers SVR. Wouldn't SVR actually be increased since the vessels are clamping down? And wouldn't that be counter-productive to the reason we're giving the beta blocker in the first place?

Hopefully that makes sense and again sorry I wasn't a bit more clear with that.
Makes a ton of sense! On second listen I must have just misheard that bit. Thanks for all you do and happy holidays :)
Can you do a video on left and right bundle branch blocks! My cardiologist isn't telling me much --Bonnie Robinson
I do talk about them a little bit in my ECG/EKG Interpretation series, but I will add to the todo list for the future. Thanks for the suggestion.
AMAZING CLASSES!!!!
Thank you so much Samuel!
