Thank you, again. I'm not worried about Lauri not attacking the rim. Obviously he was protecting himself from an injury. No dunks, not that many rebounds AND ONE! (1) personal faul in 5 games! Thanks again. Long season ahead. Jonny
Yes indeed a daunting schedule that won’t be forgiving for sure
@@wraithhoops Hate to say i told you so....
@@JonniLeponiemi no hate needed. Gotta love 35pts on just 15 shot attempts. If that’s not peak efficiency then idk what is🫡
Thanks wraith! You should be lauris personal coach👍
I wish I was knowledgeable enough for that😭
rocky ride ahead...
I’m surprised we won more than 1 game tbh. I was having a heart attack after the first 7 minutes of the rockets game
Definitely an interesting ride to say the least
1 bad game, but still better than was expecting. Will see how many flop games like the last preseason games we will have. As there will be some where we are just bad.
Ya definitely aren’t wrong in the slightest
My hot take is that this whole concept that Lauri need to iso or get more ast, is totally overblown.
I love the sets that Will runs for Lauri. Afterall Dirk only avg 2.5 ast for his career.
Now bear with me, this might sound like crazy homer take, but i truly believe that Lauri is the second most athletic forward only behind Giannis and i believe that he just might be even little faster, he is already great at just putting his head down and going through people on transition against unset defences, but if he can start doing it in those late shot clock situations, against set defences, maybe with little bit of Embiid rip-thru? Maybe he will be called for offensive foul at first, but if he keeps doing it, he will be at the line around ten times a game like Embiid, SGA and Giannis and in the MVP conversation like them.
TL;DR free throws > assists
Ngl, I like what you’re cooking up here😏
@@wraithhoops I went back and looked at some numbers, just to drive my point home little more, by now almost everybody know that Lauri is The Marksman,
as he is in top 50 in 3pm among active players and 150 all time with a chance to crack top 100 this season (if he shoots at the same level as he did the two previous seasons and plays around 65 games, which i believe he will play to qualify for All NBA) and he is top 20 in 3pm per game.
So like everybody i would like for him to get even as high as ten attempts per game, despite the fact that it might mean, he is taking couple of crazy stepback threes to get there.
But i don't think many people are considering how elite Markkanen is at the charity stripe. His just about around top 50 all time in FT% among people that have attempted 500+ and in top 20 among active players.
In the 22-23 he proved that he is capable of getting to the line, finishing the season nro. 20 in free throw makes.
My final point, i'm sure you are aware of David Locke's points gained metric, which tells us that only Sexton and Markkanen are using their possessions highly efficiently, so i would like both of them take closer to 20 then 15 attempts per game just to see how far they can take it. I know this would hurt the tank and make the Jazz fans that want to lose every game very mad, plus it would take some oportunity away from the young guys, but, i believe that as much as we need to find out what we have in the young guys, we also need to see what Lauri and Collin can do when really pushed.
If i may give some constructive criticism, you clearly have a little bit of a hard time reading, especially when reading long list of stats and i can definitely relate with those struggles, specially in front of camera.
So my advice would be to maybe pick just the most important ones, or better yet make a little graphics. That way you won't need to be on camera when reading, plus really try and take your time with it, it might feel little funny, but that way you are less likely to flub a line and even if you do, you can just go for take number two because you will only need to edit the audio. The audience also has easier time digesting the info, when the stats are on the screen and you are going slower.
But at the end of the day, only practice make perfect, so keep up the good work and i'm sure you will become better over time.
This team won’t be good until they realize Lauri is not a first Option and that George is not a pg. I think a hierarchy needs to be established . Sexton is most definitely the leader of this team, you can see how the team responds to him and how the team operates. I think it’s very clear on the court. It’s up to the Jazz for how long they wanna suffer through this or just make the game easier and follow the natural hierarchy. Lauri is an elite catch and shoot guy, that’s not a guy who should be your best player
But Lauri is Jazz numero Uno💯
