Whenever I'm feeling that I need to rush out and get something, I sit down and watch one of your videos. Your thoughtfulness when it comes to wardrobe planning is inspiring. You have inspired me to wear more color. Love your channel. I start transitioning my wardrobe by removing the bulkiest items and substituting them with lighter weight options. When I pull out the light weight items I discover things I had forgotten and I get that new purchase feeling without having to buy. Keep up the good work Daria.
I'm glad to see that you didn't freak out that one outfit wasn't perfect (although as per comment below it may be a matter of taste too!). I really enjoy the videos of you going through the process. It gives a nuance that is often harder to convey with just a set of instructions! And if anyone is considering investing in the WW course - DO IT. I'd been actively looking for help everywhere (online blogs, personal shoppers, image consultants, etc.) for 8 years and this is by far the single best resource I have ever come across. Thank you Daria!
I can’t emphasize enough how much I like your channel. It’s very eye opening and I love the way you explain everything in such a simple way. Keep up the good work! 🙏❤️
Hello, Daria. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge and expertise through your channel. I too feel the pull of shopping for a new season. However, my current wardrobe is enough to carry me through this spring. If I find that I need something, my focus will be to replace old and worn items with higher quality pieces from sustainable brands. I've added a few vintage silk scarves to update my look and keep things fresh.
I also get that panic-obsessed-rush feeling with the change of season. I've learned to recognise the feeling and take a minute to reassess whether I'm getting sucked into advertising, or whether I genuinely need that item. Always good to sleep on it and decide in the morning!
I start by putting cleaning the heaviest sweaters, jackets, wool skirts/trousers, and putting them away, pulling out some lighter sweaters and jackets with all season trousers/skirts. (I live in Canada so cool weather in April-May is likely). I wear black and other neutrals all year 'round but do add lighter & brighter colors in Spring. I use my Cladwell app to help with the visual guide. I like how you have created something with interesting colors & textures out of what you already have.
Where did you buy the brown pants? I love your channel, because it is a colorful capsule wardrobe. All the basic capsules are so boring and I thought if I want to have a capsule wardrobe I need to get rid of my love for colors. I’m so happy I found your channel :)
I was browsing a shopping website when your video came up...It dawned on me that I have enough summer cloth in my storage that I look forward to wearing! No need to shop for more. THX Daria!
Always a pleasure to watch your videos! Your idea to instantly save pictures of new items is genial. Also I understood today that I don't have enough bottoms (I own them but tend to wear always the same two pairs of jeans). That really limits the amount of outfits. I'll have to work on that..
Daria, I stumble to one of your videos by luck and I think you've become one of my favorite chanels. Thank your for sharing your knowledge while keeping humble and with such a nice and cool vibe!!
Amazing Daria! I just Love your style and I feel so inspired after watching your video. This year I added a classic trench and a pair of ballets flats to my spring capsule wardrobe.
Very inspiring. I can't wait to be able to create outfits this easily when I reach the end of the WW class ! What really inspires me during a transition is bringing out my shoes ! My uniform is centered around a few light tee-shirts, high waisted jeans, a black blazer and my beloved loafers (So comfortable !). This year, I will try to make it a little bit more "springy" by adding 1 or 2 dresses and some colour. Thank you.
Same happens to me when a new season is around the corner: I look over all new season catalogues!! After watching your video, I realize I have to check first what I already own, because I think that with no new investments I have enough options to start and get through spring with a renewed and more colourfull wardorbe. You are an inspiration!!
I'm so glad you made this video, Daria! I do get really excited when the seasons change and look forward to my spring wardrobe and new colors. It's a challenge not to buy new things. One way I combat the urge, or at least make sure my decisions are not impulsive, is making a visual guide as you have done here, and along with pieces from my existing wardrobe I add in pictures of a couple pieces to fill in the gaps. I ponder over them for a while (usually waiting for a sale), and if the stars align, I'll get the new item. I imagine as I continue going through this process, my wardrobes will become more cohesive and sustainable. And maybe one day it will only take me 15 minutes, too! :)
Yes, Christina! As we discussed in WW classroom, the transition takes some time. I am sure next year it will take you just 15 minutes ;) I like your strategy of buying piece on sale and after careful consideration! Way to go :)
I have learned so much from you so actually implementing what I have learned is a great feat! I am happy. I did buy 2 new dresses for the spring and summer because I prefer them to pants. I do not need to buy any more though. That is my cap.
In memory of Karl lagarfeld, arte put on youtube the documentary by loic prigent called 'signe chanel' ! There is somewhere ' the day before' (le jour d'avant) about fendi too. Couldn't recomend those enough ! !!
I'm curious about those terracotta/rust/copper colored cotton-linen blend pants. I have some weight to lose before creating my first WW but I've been planning it. I find it difficult to locate warm colors in bottoms.
Do you have any suggestions for what to do if we don't really like the items from last year, they don't fit or they aren't the best quality? Should we try to gift them and rehome them and get new better quality items to replace them. I plan to take my gray wool suit and blazer into spring only without any coat and same with silk shirts. Most summery items in stores at the moment don't look warm or practical enough for april or may where I live.
LOVE your channel! Question: with so much "warm tone" colors in fashion, how should we deal with having skin with a cool undertone? I had a stylist analyse my skin tone last summer, and we did some color tests against my face: Gold, yellow, beige, khaki, olive, brown, ivory, pastels, they all make my face look DEAD in comparison to more saturated colors with blue or purple in the mix (cool tones). I seem to think you are also a cool undertone, no? What is your take on matching this season's colors with what will best bring out a healthy skin tone? Thanks!!
Hi Alison! No, I have a warm skin undertone and fit under an Autumn colour type, that’s why I have only warm colours. But you should do the opposite and wear cool colours that create harmony and make you look healthy and rested ;) I have a chapter in my course called Colour Harmony that explains how to build a colour palette for your wardrobe, how to match colours and create various combinations no matter what type you are. Check it out, if interested in learning more: wonder-wardrobe.com
@@wonderwardrobe Thanks! Your course looks very informative and helpful. I will consider taking it soon! PS-are you ever in Paris working as a stylist?
Yes, but it doesn’t allow me to arrange my outfits this way where I can see exactly how it will look when I wear it. It only shows me a top on one side and the bottom on the other side... It’s hard to understand if that outfit looks good or not.
I feel I am still a baby with all this. I started this winter to put away the spring summer clothes and the clothes that dont fit me anymore, keeping only what i was going to wear in cold months. I will say it was not perfect, i keep finding things in my closet that i take on and off because I dont fell like wearing them. But still was a great thing to do. It was not easy to packed some pieces. Its funny how attached we can be to some items. I will say I already miss my summer clothes, and i dont feel the need of purchasing because 3 months not looking at those clothes, they almost feel like new when I think of them. Thanks for the tips, it helps a lot! *I also like the gold pants and yellow top (?)
Yes, that’s why I’m always saying that there is a big difference between having a lot of outfits and having a lot of outfits you enjoy wearing. It takes some time and special skills to create a wardrobe where you love every single item. I am glad you tried to rotate your clothes seasonally. It’s so simple but it works. I miss my clothes as well and can’t wait to wear them already. Where are you Spring? :)
It finally occurred to me that I could often find a good photo of the "decent quality" clothes I bought before I started my capsule wardrobe because the items I've kept are fairly classic. I can often find them on Poshmark or Ebay, etc. and don't have to struggle to get a good photo. I too keep a folder of pictures of my wardrobe items on my computer. I've trained myself to save a photo of any item I buy online, but I'm so pleased when I find a photo of an older piece so I don't have to do it.
Yes, that’s true! People often think that creating a visual guide is so time-consuming, when in reality it takes 30 minutes to make and than it saves tons of time and hundreds of dollars.
Yeah, I’ve heard. But it doesn’t work for me because i don’t like how they arrange outfits. They put items next to each other and it’s hard to understand if it’s a good outfit or not.
Daria Andronescu ohh but you can rearrange them and style them differently. I love the app in particular because it gives statistics on what you are wearing, how often you were the items and if it really was a good buy (price per wear)
I also find that Vneck flatter me most and have a harder time making outfits look as nice as id like. I’m thinking if the neck was v the out fit would be best. Do you have any insight on neck tops and how to make them look better on you. They just dont do me any favors.
The neckline choice depends mostly on your body type. If you have a round body type, a round neckline is the best. If you have an angular body, than a V-neck is just perfect. You can learn more about body shapes in this video: ua-cam.com/video/aQszl42z4DE/v-deo.html
Daria Andronescu Thank for addressing my comment. I found the video you mentioned helpful to figure out although I am petite 5’’3” 130 lbs 34DD. And at first I could not see if I was angular or curvy. I believe I am curvy and may have made some mistakes in purchasing items that flatter angular body shape. I feel enlightened.
Sorry but I don’t think these piece all go together. Several of the options seem to have color clashes although it is hard to see exactly from the small pictures. I’m sure you get asked all the time, can you model the clothes? I am curious how the oversized blouses actually look with loose pants or wide legged pants.
I already was wearing that outfit with green blouse and wide leg pants during fall season, so I know for sure it looks nice. The blouse is actually not oversized, it has a straight cut and voluminous shoulders. It’s also quite thin (cotton), so it’s easy to wear it tucked in.
Hello, I like your videos very much and have a question: When I create such a visual board, some of the outfits look good, but when I wear them, it's a bit different. Then maybe the skirt isn't high waisted enough, or the cardigan is too long and the outfit looks out of tune on me. But with other combinations the clothes are very good. How do you deal with this imbalance? Or do I make the wrong choices? Thanks for your help!
You always need to make sure that you arrange your items proportionally and realistically. If you take photos from online store always check how it looks on the model, the length, width, waistline. Jessy, I have had to come to terms with the fact that the "black pants" in my capsule are always going to mean 3 different-shaped pairs of black pants. Same for a few other pieces in every capsule I ever make--I need more than one version to make everything else work. I think if you are built so that you can hang any combination of pieces on your bod and it will look good (or if you are so evolved that you don't give a f**k!), you can choose only one pair of black pants. The rest of us have to grant ourselves a little leeway to get the most flattering combination of shapes and proportions.

liked it too
I saw the yellow/gold and thought what a great combination! ... oh hold on it's being X'd out haha
Me too!
I thought she would remove the striped top and gold pants combo.
Personal choice, I guess...
The thing is that I can’t tuck in the yellow top, it’s a little too thick for those pants.

Awesome! Do you have any videos on dressing older women? I'm a young 68-year-old with an hourglass figure - tall, size 10 (US).
