Depends on country and locale. Outside of the US, you can get Big Macs for next to nothing. When I was living in the UK you could get a Big Mac and medium fries for £2 ($3.52 USD) including taxes. Over here in Australia it's quite common to see Big Macs for $2 AUD ($1.52 USD) including taxes.

Not even close. Many McDonald's already pay $10-$15/hour in urban areas (where the highest concentration of restaurants exist) and most of the proposed laws requiring a $15 minimum won't go into effect for quite a while, allowing more inflation to occur. So while it will disproportionally effect rural establishments, due to the volume of product moved relative to the number of employees, McDonald's can maintain profits while increasing menu items by a mere 4.3%. This means a Big Mac Extra Value Meal would cost $6.25 instead of $5.99. www.purdue.edu/newsroom/releases/2015/Q3/study-raising-wages-to-15-an-hour-for-limited-service-restaurant-employees-would-raise-prices-4.3-percent.html
He’s talking about if minimum wage is raised to $15, then companies will raise their prices knowing people will spend the money, making raising the minimum wage pointless.
What makes you think he's not exclaiming Jesus in regards to the inflation? Though it's obviously not just that, since the meal is more than $5.76 in most American markets, uses cheaper packaging, and has a smaller serving size.

Also, remember...Back in the 80's; this price of $2.59 for the "value pack" was ONLY in certain states--mainly in the midwest. Then again, $2.99 (California, New York, Florida) wasn't so bad of a price for the value pack.
"That's why I'm Gurtsos, and you're Son." This may be the most memorable and classic McDonald's ad of all time. Absolutely iconic in the advertising world. Hilarious.
I believe these were the first "Combo Meals." Prior to 1985, you had to individually order "a Big Mac, fries, and a Coke" at McDonalds or "a Whopper, fries, and a Pepsi" at Burger King.
Mark Cheetah Yeah, I still remember my dad writing everything down... 1 big mac, 2 cheeseburgers, 2 filet o' fish, 5 small fries, 2 cokes, 2 root beers, 1 sprite... LOL!
Although, that commercial was almost 25 years old, the Micky D's price of $2.59 for the value pack was exaggerated...It was $2.59 ONLY in the midwest...East coast and West coast McDonald's paid $2.99 for the value pack. Still, $3 bucks was a good price to pay for a Big Mac, "Medium" fries, and a soft drink compared to paying almost $6 dollars, these days. Hawaii, the prices are even a bit higher.
2 cheeseburgers super sized fries and a coke was less than $3.00 only 10 years ago. The Big Mac meal was only a little bit more. Now any non basic burger on McDonalds menu by itself cost as much as the value meals when I was in high school.
$2.59 in 1985 would be about $5.30 in 2011 dollars. You also have to take into consideration that portions were Smaller in 1985. A Large order of french fries in 1985 is equivalent to a Medium order of Fries in 2011.
