While the video with Joshua Williamson are nice. Nothing beats these Tom King interviews. Dude is such a humble person and his conversations feel so natural and add a lot of insight.
Sal & Tom have the best rapport of any UA-camr/Comic Book media & Comic Creator out there. these interviews only happen like once a year and i wish it was a monthly or even weekly thing.
40:54 Gotham and Gotham girl were great for Batman. You created great characters for that Batman story. I’ll never forget that first read. I thought how the hell is Batman going to get out of this. The crash of the plane going down but then seeing the gotham siblings flying above. BOOM 💥 loved that and her break and even her following Thomas Wayne Does it need to be more than that?
I love having been able to see Sal and Tom's relationship go from two guys in the same industry, not being fans of each others work, to genuine friends who can joke, jab, and criticize each other with smiles and respect; all while singing the others praises. Tom seems like such a genuine dude.
These interviews are great and I love the humour King has about some of his less-acclaimed work. He's still clearly proud of it but he can poke fun at himself over how Sal didn't like his Batman or how Heroes in Crisis will forever be known as his worst book lol
Don't sell yourself short, King! The Help from Killing Time has a lot of potential, I'd love to see him again. Please do Omegamen 2! I want to see Kyle return as a White Lantern and really put the galaxy in a tisy.
If I were to give a name to the group of Jon, Damien, and Trinity, I’d go with “The Triumvirate.” It’s not as snappy as “The Trinity,” but still gives a sense power and dignity. If I were to give them a JOKE name, “The Super Spawn.”
We need a Williamson, King and Sal episode of them talking about whatever comics that they’re digging and working on etc. because both are a joy to see chat with Sal.

itll go over about as well as his batman run did if not worse tom has no idea what wondie is about friend. aka its going to be shit like most of modern dc comics.
TK understands why the Super Sons babysitting Wonder Woman's daughter would be a cool idea but it only works when Jon is a kid and not aged up, otherwise what works about the Super Sons isn't there for the idea of Jon and Damian babysitting to be cool. I'm sure when Tom asked his kids if that was a cool idea or not, they explicitly imagined them as kids like when Tomasi was writing them (and he explicitly mentions) and not aged up Jon. What would work with Trinity is what made the Super Sons so popular with younger readers and it's that they are kids (and not aged up)!
When Damian is eventually aged up, they can kind of fudge around with their ages and keep Jon younger for longer or something stupid. Aging him up was really one of their worst decisions ever.
I mean its true, three or four of king's runs ive bought distinctly from sal's recommend (edit wouldve been more but i got into dc universe infinite and marvel unlimited so i just wait and read them there now)

Well I guess I’m getting 8 copies of issue one now. I’m sick of Wonder Woman being ignored. I appreciate the view Tom King has of Diana being put on a pedestal. She can be complicated and true to character at the same time. Ironically she would be on a pedestal if their was a Grecian statue or vase of her.
Im both a little nervous but very interested to see what Tom King does with this run of mainline Wonder Woman comics. On the one hand, i absolutely adore his mini-series focusing on lesser-known or lesser-explored comic book characters like Mister Miracle, Vision, Adam Strange, and the Human Target. I thought his Supergirl miniserirs was phenomenal and im thrilled James Gunn is using the story as a template for her upcoming DCEU debut. On the other hand, like many others, i do find his mainline story runs on characters like Batman to be polarizing in some areas, including the psych-out Batman and Catwoman wedding, the almost-tasteless "The Gift" 3-parter with Booster Gold, the kinda head-scratching return of Flashpoint Thomas Wayne, and the less said about the now-heavily-retconned Heroes in Crisis event, ths better. That being said, even in those examples i put, i could still see fun and unique ideas like the young Gotham twins trying to emulate their inspiration Batman, the almost cruel joke behind the War of Jokes and Riddles, furthuring the relationship between Bruce and Selina, Batman pushing his morals and making his own Suicide Squad, a touching origin story for freaking KITE MAN of all people! Even when it comes to Heroes in Crisis, the idea of tackling the metal and emotional troubles that come with being a superhero is a fascinating subject to cover and using an event comic as a cover to get more readers is clever, its just that the murder mystery that got us to that point was way too over-complicated, the logistics behind Sactuary were not a good substitute for actual mental health professionals, and a popular mainline superhero is almost completely dragged through the mud in order to promote a message with good intentions but poor execution. Man, i went off there for a bit. The point im trying to make is that I find King does his best work when he has these characters all to himself in one-offs in their own seperate continuities while with stories in the mainline canon, anything you do can become gospel and you have to be a lot more careful with the risks you take because these are the OG characters you are working with and loyal fans will be more adament if you take a more drastic turn with them. As always, this is all just my own opinion on the matter, despite all of this, i will be checking out Tom King's Wonder Woman series when it releases and i am very intrigued to see what new tales he comes up with for the Amazon princess.
I don't want to be unfair with a CIA mindset joke, but it's kind of ironic that the character I have always thought of as being a consummate Themiscyrian diploma from Greg Ruckat, Tom's like "Wolverine go Snikt!". I'm 100% in on his Watership down BOOM book
