    Love and made whips from your show. Here’s a little thing you may or may not want to add, I epoxy thick leather to my Vice grips, I only use it for whips. Have a great year brother!!!!

    Man that is awesome really appreciate the info I have enjoyed making lanyards and different types of those but moving up to the whip making. It’s a nice change of pace and everything kind of translates over so haven’t had much trouble so far definitely going to try this style looks amazing. You’re very crafted at your talent.

    I've been doing this with my turks heads but that sure is a nice accent to the handle as well.

      Cool .ya i just did a turks head like that also by accident. . I was short on the 2nd pass so i had to change strands twice. So i went black ,glow green, and back to black. Looks cool.

    Hi Nick, in your next video could you give some tips on strand lengths? I my whips I have issues with my strands being to short. Are the lengths after the strands are folded in half?

    The nice thing about using three strands as one,you move down the handle a lot faster! I’d really like to see how you finish it once you get your handle covered. Do you just bind it and cut it off with a razor knife? Thanks Nick!

    Hi Nick. Thanks for all your instructional videos. Can you recommend a place where I can get a good quality kangaroo leather hides from to make whips? I reside in Los Angeles, California. Thank you so much!

    I put a couple mirrors where I'm working 1 helps me see what the backside looks like the whole time, and the other provides me with a side view.
    Now I don't go to far before I see a problem and end up needing to redo a lot.

    Nick can you please make a tutorial for a 3 foot snake whip in whip makers cord?

    • @Skinflaps_Meatslapper
      @Skinflaps_Meatslapper 22 дні тому

      I made my own snake whip from his video titled "Current Snake Whip Making Method 2018" a while back using gutted 550 cord. If you follow his method from that tutorial utilizing whipmaker's cord then you'd most likely end up with a nicely proportioned 3ft 16 plait snake whip. I would cut my strands a little longer but follow the strand drops at the recommended measurement just to be sure the difference in paracord width doesn't leave you short on your strands or making a much longer whip than you wanted. Cord is cheap and you can always use the excess for other stuff like heel knots or whatever. One of these days I'll probably revisit that whip and do the same myself. When I made my whip, rather than binding the heel and cutting off the excess, I decided from the start to replace the heel knot with a 1.25" ball bearing instead so there would be some counterweight to the whip. I tied a 56 facet globe knot around the bearing and threaded each strand of the belly and overlay through the bottom strands of the globe knot and plaited as usual. It's a great whip and has a powerful crack for its length, but it's definitely chonky and the ball bearing made a big difference countering all that whip mass (plus, you can flip it around and use the ball bearing like a slungshot if the cracker is having no effect). I've waxed all of my whips except for that one, because it absolutely doesn't need more mass...it's heavy enough. Point being, if you follow that tutorial exactly with 550 cord, you'll probably end up with a snake whip that's thicker and more nose heavy than it really should be, and it doesn't really pack down as well as an ordinary 3ft snake whip either...but it would be a great candidate to replicate in whipmaker's cord.
