It’s a Pile of Possibilities. So says I, Cato Sicarius.
Never call it pile of shame is the first and most important rule. It is the pile of oppourtunities ;)
Happy Painting to you!
I remember your instagram post about this, and thought of paraphrasing it here, so it's a great surprise to see you in the comments! 😊
Thank you so much! Yess the glass is half-full ❤ I’m going to check out your videos to gain more painting knowledge and inspiration!
I'd try painting a Custodian. You can add as much detail as you like, and it would be a good way to try some new techniques like dry brushing and washes. I'm sure it'd be satisfying!
Now that you mention it I don’t know how I feel about trying new techniques live on stream 😅 might be super fun or super stressful lol
@@ti8ickdon't worry about trying new techniques and making mistakes. It's the best way to learn, no one starts off an expert. Also you can always remove a mistake with lots of water or even just paint over it.
@@ti8ick well needless to say that's up to you. But if there are any painters present in the chat, they might be able to offer advice. 🤔
The Necron Warriors seem like they were designed for beginners, I've painted many of them. They're great for drybrushing metallics and washing them, which is a LOT of fun, and the wire and joint bits are good for basecoat->contrast paint. Then just pick out the details with a bright color and they're done. Again, a lot of fun to paint and very simple.
Thank you for the tips and encouragement! Even if I end up painting something else on stream, I'll definitely give Necrons a try off-camera because I'm just so curious to give them a try
My friend ended up just priming his with leadbelcher, stuck the Agrax wash over and then picked out the details with another colour. Really basic but they look great on the tabletop ☺️
Very excited to see your mini progress! It’s been cool also starting this hobby recently and joining you on the journey 😊
Thank you so much for following me on my journey and good luck to you on your own one! ❤
Oh my god the reaction to the rip, I didn’t even notice it until the reaction 😂😂
lol I reached for one of the boxes on the side and didn’t notice that the seam popped
Paint any mini you like visually. It will be more motivating and fun for you.
If you are afraid of the Necron Lord Cape, you could try Citadel "Contract Paints" they would do most of the work for you.
Thank you! I have only a couple of contrast paints but haven’t tried them out yet, so his cape might be a perfect practice material ❤
I'm impressed with how big you pile of shame is already, you truly have got a hang of this hobby! (it's more about collecting unbuilt models in boxes) :)
As for what you should paint next, actually, I'd go with whatever you are most excited about. If you go for something else first you'll just be thinking about the thing you want to paint most. Judging by your reactions... hmm... I'm gonna go with the Hospitaller.
The easiest will be the basic marines from the starter set, and the black templars. The custodies and necrons are okay if you are okay painting metallics (much easier if you use a gold/silver spray can). The rest are a little harder, but as you've been painting a Kreig, you are already painting the smaller things, so I think you can manage any of the others.
Very impressed with the mini in the sneak preview, well done!
Thank you so much for your feedback! I’m really excited about releasing the Krieg painting video, doing my best to finish it asap.
As for the next model I definitely want something on the easier side to paint, as doing it live on stream is going to be pretty stressful on its own 😅
So I’m going to use the poll results as a guidance but in the end choose what I’m more comfortable with ❤
@@ti8ick Then I have changed my mind! :) Tbh, I didn't totally appreciate the streaming element. I would really consider doing the Ultramarine or the Ork. The Ultramarine will probably be the easiest, and take the shortest time (which is a consideration on a stream). Also, he is much bigger than some of the others, so it will be easier to film... and finally, he is colourful. I think painting a lot of black or dark parts on a model might be a bit more annoying to show progress during a steam.
So although I voted for a Sister, go for the Ultramarine... or the Ork (for basically the same reasons). Or... paint the space marine, but just paint him in your favorite colour!
Very much looking forward to seeing what you come up with! :)
You should paint the Battle Sisters squad.
She really shouldnt. Its the hardest of the bunch if you try to replicate the ‘Eavy Metal scheme.
And even if you go your own, they still the hardest unless you really do something very out of the box with space marines.
Well looks like the Sisters are currently leading lol
@@ti8ick to be fair, its also the first army I started painting seriously as well! Thats why I recommend not to jajajjaj
My other 40k is the imperial guard 💂🏻
Absolutely awesome to see her considering and possibly painting Raven Guard. Absolutely underrated chapter, plus a really cool scheme, and especially good for newbies in my mind
It’s funny how I know next to nothing about Raven Guard but I saw this mini and had to have it 😂 what better reason to learn about the faction?
Even though different factions and legions have their own colour schemes the beauty of the W40K hobby is that you can very easily create your own. You can always use an existing colour scheme you like the look of and change any parts you like. Its a great way to personalise your own army and make it yours. Also don't worry about making mistakes, we all did at the start. Can't wait for the painting stream! 😀
I love the Hospitaller model, was fun to paint. Overall great choices, the Primaris Crusader Squad is great kit. The Kommando and Kreig box one of the best releases of GW. Organize your bits as you make your stuff, so fun kit bashing.
"Have you tried looking up the lore of the Dark Angel?"
"Paint me like one of your warhammer minis", this meme is going to become real...
Getting the miniatures you like, building, painting, and collecting them is actually a great way to approach the hobby. Playing a game probably comes after, and you have got two killteams, along with the rules for this specific game, so playing kill team may be a nice, small-scaled introduction to the general game dynamics.
I've got an outrageously huge pile of shame myself 😂... been collecting whole armies and sweet single miniatures for years without building or painting any of it... no time and no motivation, but a lot of depression 😔, but I'm slowly getting back to painting. It's so therapeutic 😌...
By the way, I can imagine that you don't need another rabbit hole to fall in, but have you ever checked out Fallout Wasteland Warfare? If not, then just take a look 😁... or not. May save you some money 😂.
the reason why Necrons are easy is because all you need is to spray them with a metallic primer and then add nuln oil. If you want to add the green detail you can do so after the nuln oil and they are basically done at that point, only 3 colours where one is a spray and the other is a wash.
Custodians is also decently easy with the same method as necrons but has a bit more detail and you need to use a more reddish brown wash and not nuln oil unless you want the gold to look very dirty. And ofcourse custodians are great practise for painting faces with the unhelmet ones.
She's gone, guys. She's fallen fully into the rabbit hole. Soon, her room will be filled with unpainted minis.
Now, I highly recommend taking as many sponsors as you could, that'll secure your next batch of minis for the week.
I wish they would make an updated mini of Trazyn, preferably one where he manspreads on a throne xD
you actually have enough models there to have some very tiny/short games with 2-3 people. Which is the best way to get started, that's basically how it originally went with space crusade and space hulk (and 1 person playing the big xeno and traitor chaos menace) XD
Necrons are easy, black base coat, gun metal or any metallic paint you like and then some wash and the model just needs finishing touches.
So, which army will you be collecting?
"Yes."
Lots of very cool stuff to paint! What they mean by the comment about not following the box, is that part of the fun of Warhammer is painting stuff your own way, making your own armies by picking your own colors. But also not getting discouraged if your stuff doesn't look the same as what's there. Have fun while you paint, and don't get stressed out about it!
There's lots of very good channels here that are dedicated to painting. I'm a big fan of Zumikito, especially his video of how he 'ruined' an army and then managed to save it. ua-cam.com/video/YSBVSg2TKL4/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for the recommendation! I would love to be able to develop this “vision” as I get more experience at painting, to just use whatever colors I want and not having to follow tutorials
I will say in my experience that box art is a good foundation for while you're practicing. My plan is to do that for a while, but as I get better, I'll become more stylized and experimental. Although this is my style, there's no "right" way to paint, except just do it
Necrons are the easiest to paint of anything I’ve painted. Spray them with black primer and dry brush with a darkish silver metallic color. Example. Dry brush with citadel Iron Warriors. Then a lighter dry brush with Leadbelcher and a very light dry brush of stormhost silver.
Thanks! I literally wrote down your recipe lol
Newish to wargaming side to WH40K, my Ravenguard including the chapter master Kayvaan Shrike did very well. Finally got a win, after 7 various games. Great fun.
The existence of the Hospitaller impleis the existance of a Hospismaller
You did a great job on your first model, be good to see you tackle something more complex next
Thank you!! I can’t wait to release the first painting vid and see people’s feedback and tips on painting! And also super excited (and scared lol) for the live painting stream 😂❤
If you are lazy, buy a can of the blue armypainter primer and use that as a base coat for the space marine boys. looks pretty nice and saves a lot of time
Paint some Black Templars:D. For Dorn and the Emperor!
Коготок завяз, всей птичке пропасть. 😅
So young a fan and with a pile already? You will go far.
I have him bought from game workshop in over a year because I 3D print my own miniatures. They're exact same from the store. At a penny apiece.
I do really admire you collecting whichever minis you like, and paints, as I recall you saying, tibs! Not to sound too much like a "but" is coming haha, still, to paint a wide variety of minis, you *might* end up buying a lot more paints. That's great too, if you want to go that way!
Alternatively, people who focus on one force might only need a limited palette of colours, or even deliberately challenge themselves to that, hopefully still using some colours they like lol. Of course that's easy to say, but it skips the early learning process of their painting. That's what you're kindly showing, figuring out what you like to paint in the first place. As I've said before, Necrons and Custodes are relatively easy to get looking at least 80% finished or good with a handful of paints and a few techniques. From there it can be a case of diminishing returns, or seem that way, haha; more time on smaller details, and the worry of making mistakes.
Thinking ahead to a third or fourth mini might add some pressure, but I hope it can take some away. Think of what might be fun or good to try next. You might really enjoy metallics after a Necron or Custodian, or want to try painting cloth, leather, scales, fur, skin... In that sense, it can also be good to sometimes look at Warhammer Fantasy/Old World/AoS minis etc just to see if any other shapes or colours inspire you, though that could get expensive! 😅 Sorry for rambling, I haven't really given a firm answer this time, and am glad you might not stick to the poll results haha. I hope you're having a lovely day, tibs! :)
Thank you for your comment adam! I do enjoy trying out different colors and techniques and having variety without being restricted to paint only one army. Every faction is so different when it comes to painting, plus there's fantasy Warhammer too 🙈 So I will have plenty of material to have fun with haha and maybe I will settle down and choose my favorite faction in the process. For now I'm just enjoying trying new things without the pressure of commitment.
These are... many boxes.
If you are only interested in painting and collecting and have no interest in building an army to play I highly recommend looking into Age of Sigmar minis. Things like Mangler Squigs are incredibly fun to build and paint. I would also suggest starting with the necrons even though you think they are spindly and harder to paint they are shockingly simple minis.
I'm planning on starting to check out fantasy Warhammer stuff eventually and with that more minis are probably going to be added to the pile haha
With all the female custodes creeping in to the universe I think its only fair to have male sororitas in the mix lol.
🤣
jesus christ, even roman lappat is hanging around in your comments... now you have it all: the lore masters, the pro painters and the god of warhammer dioramas. this woman is on the way to become youtubes most famous 40k newbie...
While I think of it too, aside from Roman's videos hehe, Vince Venturella had a great video in the last week or so on things he wished he knew when he started painting. If it doesn't overload you with info, it could be helpful and relaxing to hear some of that. Duncan Rhodes had a similar video out a couple of years ago too! You get to see some of their first painted minis in each video too, at least 😊
Thank you for your recommendations! Will watch those by the time I paint my next mini to be fully prepared
Nope, you don't need any help. The system is working as designed.
Chaplain: black, red, bone-white; Raven Guard: black, white; Black Templars: black, white, red; Sisters: black, white, red... I am beginnig to sense a theme here 😜 (No judgement. My Sisters of Battle are black, white and red as well 😅😉)
PS. If you are wondering about easy ways to paint Necrons, look up some videos on drybrushing Necrons.
Hahah yeah that monochrome with red accents seems to be my jam 😂
Just got the classic 1994 ork kommandos set with the "new" kill team kommandos set, would be cool if You would do that kill team, I will not have the time to paint them for months right now.
Necron warriors, paint a couple. Way less detail than any of the loyalist minis 😉
I'm so jealous that you just have a pile of characters to paint 😭😭
And I'm jealous of people who find the time to paint 🤣
@@ti8ick Same lol! I've got drawers of shame
Pretty much all the Adepta Sororitas look cool, it's hard not to with a red/black/white color scheme.
Yep that color scheme seems to be my favorite lol
Do the Necrons first, they're very beginner friendly, then the Space Marines.
As someone who only collects Sororitas, I can tell you they are an absolute bitch to paint, even if you use the helmets in stead of the bare heads.
They basically have Chaos Space Marine levels of detail, but on smaller models and with poses that make painting the robes and armor tricky.
Pile of possibilities hun, no shame here. 😊
Please, take a look on "The last Church"
I will I promise
@@ti8ick Oh great! You are the best, may the Emperor always protect you!
I love that you're just buying the models that you think are cool looking. Screw armies, this is the way to actually get into the hobby, by just building/painting miniatures that you think look dope
Thanks! When I finally give tabletop a try and if I'm hooked I might start looking into collecting an army, but for now I'm just enjoying the variety
2:28 im not building an army... Yet
I would advise against a mini with a mainly black colour.
Getting a solid black is not hard BUT making this black then visually interesting by highlighting it, can be challenging.
So I would wait with stuff like black armoured minis until you have a bit more experience with painting
Thank you for pointing this out because I would have never though that about black color. Makes total sense though
@@ti8ick You are welcome. But while I warned you against it, if YOU really want to paint a e.g., black templar just go for it.
Never let us people on the internet stop you from having fun with this hobby by telling you want to do or not to do.
Yes, the pile of shame just keeps growing. If it makes you feel any better. I have hired a guy to convert up a Necromunda project I have started. The pile of shame currently with him has been given it's own desk! & that is just the pile he has. With me I currently have 4 different piles of shame. 3 for projects & 1 for cool models I like
You need stop to see it as a pile of shame.
It kinda automatically happens when you get into 3d-printing as no one can paint as fast as you can print...
It is a pile of resources to draw from.
I am constantly building a Library of Files I can print and keep about 7 mid-sized ikea boxes full of printed minis.
Its amazing, since although I burn through minis pretty fast (like ~10 Minis a week - I only paint to slightly above tabletop-quality), there is always something to draw from and I never have the feeling that I'd rather paint something else.
And:
No I am not stealing from GW, the minis I paint might be inspired by warhammer but are completly different. I decided never to buy GW Minis again after they killed WH Fantasy which I had ~5k€ in Models for.
I still love their minis, but I absolutely hate the company...
@@player-ye3hk Good Sir/Lady (unsure by name. Please take no offense on me using both), I have been collecting since '89, 2nd edition. So I accepted my pile a LONG time ago. It's more like a pet now 🤣 My biggest problem is my own body. Can't stay in the same place like I used to. Too much hurt to manage.
I won't comment on GW's MANY mistakes. But only cause neither of us need the rage it brings. But I know how you feel. I lost 3 armies when they killed fantasy.
the best moment 4:57
Kayvaan shrike is great. He's been around in various sculpts since 2004, though he was only a captain then, making him the same age as the plastic whirlwind. Love the emo edgelord jump pack assassin.
The primaris chaplain normally looks like that. He's a bit goofy ngl, but all chaplains seem to look like that. My metal jump pack chaplain that I got when I was 14 looks the same
Yes! Emo edgelord jump park assassin I love it 😂😂❤
Горшочек не вари. Тут до конца жизни красить и собирать :)
First of all, you're a pleasure to listen to. Your pronunciation is at an incredibly high level. At first I thought it was just some nice English-speaking girl. But with each new video I heard something familiar and native in your accent.
It's not a Pile Of Shame (POS).
It's a Pile Of Opportunity (POO).
you need to Add a Rainbow warriors chapter and the Lamenters just to support the cadian faction.
I confuse the SIRoritas with the Sororitas all the time :3
Looooooool
Since an army is out (same boat tbh), why not a squad like the kill team(s)?
Go easy on yourself. Paint a Custodian. Their big and mostly simple metalics.
Ignore the box art and create your own color scheme
1) pick an easy to paint miniature from you "grey pile of shame".
2) decide on the color scheme and the base (urban, winter, jungle, etc)
3) find a video tutorial how to paint a miniature like yours
4) watch it and break down the process into simple steps
5) write the steps down for your own color scheme
6) practice painting your steps on a piece of empty GW plastic sprue off camera
7) verify and change the painting process steps if needed
8) paint your miniature on live stream saying "you've never done it before"
9) PROFIT
P.S. For God's sake, stop buying the miniatures on impulse. Pick an army (one) and concentrate on it. If you haven't opened the boxes yet, offer to trade them for your chosen army box sets.
WHICH CHAPTER??
I like how you posted your first 40k video roughly 5months ago (To my knowledge) and already you're stacking shame.
This hobby really is like drugs.......🤦♂
Have you seen joytoy's action figures of Warhammer??
Hi do u do unboxing videos,,u should 🙂
Hi, I will actually be doing those soon!
"колекшн", понятно...
LOL
Paint the Custodes but with the sisters' heads instead of the actual ones
looooool
I hate to tell you, but you will ALWAYS need help with your pile of shame. No matter how much you actually paint, the pile of shame will grow. Such is our burden.
Эта девушка имеет Русские корни?
It looks like she could understand Russian the very least. And I wouldn't call everyone who speaks Russian "Russian".
Wait your also mad about what they did with the custodian codex? Even more reason to like you, and the fact your gorgeous and normal is a great thing
please react to the animated series of warhammer you just react to the trailers wich sucks.
If you are going to react to warhammer lore then react to arch warhammer. He actually loves the lore and goes in depth with every subject. Far more then any other UA-camr who tries to copy his content.
Arch is trash and can go fornicate with a running chainsaw - if I'm watching a 40k lore video, I want 40k lore and *not* the political opinions of the person making the video crammed down my throat at every opportunity. He's not even all that good when it comes to the actual lore, either; better options would be Leutin09, Oculus Imperia or 40k Theories
