I don't want shorter video's, I love listening to you chat
Thank you!
I actually like the length of your videos and hearing you talk about the books you've bought or you're reading at the moment. And I usually end up adding something to my tbr ☺
That's good to hear. I'm definitely not planning to alter the length of my videos anytime soon.
Interesting how there are so many videos over an hour with lots of silences, but your "long" videos are less time and full of sharing. Either way I have you telling me about books while I work with yarn. Keep being you, that's why we are here 🧡
I appreciate that!
@@SupposedlyFun And I really appreciate you! I stopped working in a library three years ago and feel out of the loop. You give me interesting titles to check out 🧡
I loved The Dutch House. There's a cool story about the cover painting in These Precious Days. Talk on, Greg, the videos are not too long.
These Precious Days is another one of her books I'm looking out for. Thanks for the support!
I love your long videos. I’d watch you for even longer! You take me to my happy place.
That means a lot--thanks.
I enjoy the length of your videos 📖🪱💚
Thank you! I won't be making any changes anytime soon.
❤ love the videos, longer the better. Your chats are informative and easy to listen to (good convo)! ❤
That's really good to hear! Thanks.
I enjoy any video that you put out. You keep adding books to my pile of possibilities.
Thank you so much!
Attention people who want Greg's videos shorter: speed up the playback and hurry back to whatever you'd rather be doing. The rest of us will just be hanging with Greg in real time. It's supposedly fun!
You just keep talking as much as you want, Greg. The vast majority of your subscribers approve, I’m sure.
The Andrew Holleran book sounds pretty fascinating. My library has a copy and I put it on my list to borrow in the future.
I look forward to your thoughts on the Holleran if you get to it before I do! And thank you. I appreciate that.
Adding to what everyone else is saying - i like the longer videos!
I love your long videos, I find them entertaining and enjoyable ..
Same!
Thank you for letting me know! I'm not planning to make any changes right now, so I'm glad you enjoy them.
📚 🥂
Thanks, Greg!🌷I found your channel only last year and have been enjoying your videos very much ever since. I’m not sure what the problem is about long videos, since there’s a very simple solution to that: hit the pause button and continue watching when you have time😂
I am new to your channel. In general, I like longer videos.
That's good to know--thanks!
I’m always on board for a long “Supposedly Fun” video. I remember the glee of seeing that your recent “Pulitzer Prize Predictions for Fiction 2024” was an hour long! I made a pot of tea 🫖and got settled in for that one, as I do with all your videos.😀
I did the same thing! Except it took twice as long to watch, because I kept pausing to jot down titles. 🫖 🍵 🍵 🍵 We’re here for all your book chats, Greg, long or short! 📚
@MJ-in-Canada I was hoping that's what people would do!
I love that! I hope you enjoy any of the books you pick up.
@@peaseblossom4252 Yes, there is much pausing for title-jotting. Sometimes, if I don't want to pause, I take a screenshot of Greg holding up a book of interest. 😀
@@SupposedlyFun A Greg video is an event to be savoured. Thanks for all your great content!
Make the videos you want to make! We are here to listen to you. ❤
Thank you. ❤️
State of Wonder is such a strange story, but I loved it. I’ve read a lot of her books also. You do you, Greg. I like the chat, not watching the clock.
I love listening while I cook or do anything other then read, so keep as is in my opinion! (Right now I listen while eating nachos….I can’t hold my book and eat nachos and am a slow eater so thank you)
Now I'm hungry for nachos 😂
Thanks for the feedback.
Tom Lake was wonderful. State of Wonder is fabulous.
I look forward to State of Wonder.
I enjoy the length of your videos.
I appreciate that!
The Dutch House was so good! I need to reread that book again.
I'm looking forward to it!
I love your videos & the length of your discussions about books, they feel like a lovely long catch up with a friend & with the rise of short form content that is increasingly rare🥹📚
That's the vibe I go for, so I'm glad it works!
The longer the better, as far as I'm concerned. Bonus points when we get a glimpse of Teddy. Quick question: Did you enjoy Wolf Hall? I have it on my TBR.
I found Wolf Hall to be incredibly frustrating during the reading process because it's so dense and there are so many characters with the same or similar names. But I've appreciated it so much more since I finished, if that makes sense. It definitely stayed with me. And Bring Up the Bodies (my favorite in the series) benefits from all the foundation you get in Wolf Hall.
On Independent Bookstore Day, Hubby and I visited a queer-owned used book store I found out about in a nearby town. The literal moment we walked in the door, our son called from a trampoline arcade we’d dropped him off at saying he’d sprained his ankle. So I did a 5-min whirlwind tour of the shelves (torture!) and picked up One Hundred Years of Solitude before paying, wishing the owner a happy bookstore day, and rushing out the door. I’ll definitely go back soon so I can take my time (son is just fine, just a light sprain).
Thanks for another book chat. Hi to Joel, and scritches to Teddy. 📚♥️
I'm glad your son is okay! If nothing else, I'm glad you got to have a quick visit. I loved One Hundred Years of Solitude, so I hope you do as well.
❤ your videos. ❤The Dutch House!
I enjoy your videos just as they are!
I appreciate that!
For what’s it’s worth I really liked Little Eyes and Fever Dreams I think Little Eyes is creepy in that you can really see it happen. Well worth the read
Ooh, that's good to know. Thanks for sharing.
Personally, I like the length of your videos.
Dutch House is my favorite Patchett (and that’s saying a lot!) and Tom Hank’s’ narration is fantastic. Commonwealth is number two for me so you can’t go wrong doing that one first either.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on them!
I really enjoyed The Dutch House. Although I read it in physical form and not audio so I can’t speak on Tom Hanks narration.
Part of me feels curious to see what I would think of the Hanks narration, but I'll probably do it in print when the time comes.
The Dutch House is the only Ann Patchett book I’ve read (so far), and I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it (unsure why I was skeptical going in)!
I really loved Tom Lake.
👍❤️
📚 🥂
sorry someone wanted shorter videos - that's what "shorts" are for 🙂. i much prefer your longer videos!
I am totally here for Tom Lake winning, but is Heaven and Earth Grocery Store eligible? 🧐
Heaven and Earth is eligible, and I think safe money would be on either it or North Woods. I would be happy with either a McBride or Patchett win.
That anyone would comment on the length of your videos strikes me as quite rude. They are so lucky they did not have my mother for a parent. They'd still be mucking out stalls for saying such a thing. I enjoy your videos just as they are.
Thank you. They are a fan of the channel and didn't mean it in a negative way. I just thought it was funny that the next video I filmed happened to be at the length they prefer!
What's a "cilantro sentiment"?
No shorter videos
Thanks! No plans to make any changes anytime soon so all will be good.
Where's teddy
He was hanging out with Joel while I filmed this and didn't want to come back to the library.
No, to shorter videos please
My thinking is anyone who doesn't want to watch a whole video is free to skip parts they aren't interested in, so I don't plan on changing anything right now.
exactly 😇
Videos too long? Ridiculous! Who asks for less book content 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
