This would be the first time I got to see Eddie VanHalen. Was 3rd row,and was totally numb. Though my memory must be playin tricks on me,I swear he had light blue sweats when he ran out and started playing Summer Nights. Age playing ticks on my I guess. I almost got fired from my job that weekend though. I asked for time off, they said ok,then a few days before the gig someone "got sick" they said I couldn't go. I was 20 and VanHalen were my life in those days, hell they still are, forever a fan. I went anyways, and I saw God that day. Seriously I have never felt that numb in my life,I was around 10-12 feet away from the man and you could feel his aura when he was playing, total out of body experience for me. Oh and when I got back I still had my job. Win/Win
Thank you for posting 14 yo me was at this show! My first concert I could attend by myself (well with friends). Lost my ride dad had to pick me up all the way from Naoto. Metallica absolutely slayed (my fave band at the time). Funny though this many years later totally burned out on Metallica but still love me some Van Halen and Scorpions. Still have my stub, hat, Metallica shirt And VH MOR bandanna. Hot as hell day, sun poisoning on nose. Would definitely do it all over again. RIP Ed you are greatly missed 😢
It was a Sunday and I was completely buzzed to say the least! But I'll never forget that fantastic day and night! All of the bands were awesome! Dokken and the Scorps kicked ass too! Rest in peace Eddie and Candlestick, I'll never forget it.♥️🎸
I was there. Remember it all so well too. Didn't know it at the time that would be my last time being at candlestick park. I remember getting home in gilroy thinking:WOW!!!! That was great. Next day when I went to work at burger king... I was telling some of my co workers about this concert. I was 18 at the time. GREAT MEMORYS. We're all going to miss you eddie. 🙁😣😫😥😥😥
I was there too. You remember when Dokken was on stage? It was blistering hot, so Don Dokken told the stage crew to hose us all down with a fire hose up front. He even threw out a few beers but quickly stopped after that since he didn't wanna get in anymore trouble than he was already in. Dokken were awesome,as were VanHalen that day. I will never forget this show, just amazing.
Yeah, true. Pretty sad. Buddy and I use to drive up there to see the Giants and Mets play there, fun times. VanHalen there was the pinnacle though, pretty special. Hate to see Candlestick gone, lots of memories. @@roguenews7898
