really interesting what she said about mood boards. it's true, it's a tricky thing. i feel like some people in my class put more time and work in to their process books and mood boards than in the actual shoots and there is no authenticity to see in their images. I think it's more important to develop your own ideas instead of making perfect moodboards!
What a sweet story. It's awesome that a female photographer captures womans sensibility, sexuality and as she sed is interested in different personalities of woman
Love Ellen! Nice interview but visually boring, this could have just been an audio podcast. You're interviewing a photographer.. It sure would have been nice to cut away to shots of her work while she was talking about specific subjects and projects.
Great interviewer: intelligent, attentive, focused, prepared and alive. Asks all the right questions, interesting questions, about photographers' background and first jobs, briefing the models, empowering vs. objectifying, shooting styles, point of view... See Lou's interview with Peter Lindbergh.
Love Ellen; she is awesome in all ways. But the interviewer sucks a little bit (sorry)... An interviewer's supposed to be neutral/unbiased in order to be able to get the most real from the interviewee. She tends to be manipulative (in her own way) and didactic. Doesn't feel right !
love ellen and her photography, she is an amazing photographer, I admire her styles and what she says about potography, but this interviewer realy sucks, and her english sucks too, couldnt nearly understand her questions, but thanks god the answers of ellen.
I love Ellen. She is very inspiring both as a person and as a photographer. The philosophy behind her work is great.
Brilliant Ellen! But also can’t hold myself back from commenting on how great the interviewer is🔥

"Do you feel like you do have a style?" (33:20) Ooh la la... what a question to ask.
the interviewer sucks, but Ellen is one of the best out there, have all her books, her work is fabulous

An evil person who laughs all the time- that is Hollywood. That is her as well. Stop thinking that these people are celebs.
