Get one. You won't regret it. I can't speak for the Gen 2 or 3 cars, but the Gen 1 Vs are great cars. Def not perfect, but def fun and quirky. The car has the spirit of that one friend that's intimidatingly built like a tank, but silly and giggly enough to always put a smile on your face.
      All the best,

@@luisbalderrama8145 Do you think the 06 or 07's are better in any way i want one of these for my 20th birthday im 18 at the moment apparently they fixed the diff issues on the 06 and 07 models according to TheSmokingTire channel.

@@yungpepereacts5674 Do it! Its a great car. I miss mine dearly. To answer your questions though, I wouldn't say one is better than the other. If you can get a later one I would due to ease, but if you can get a decent earlier model with some extra bucks to spend on reliability mods, I would do that as well.
The 06-07 models have the LS2 and an upgraded diff. That being said, the LS6 is a great engine and I had no complaints about it. I never drove the LS2 version to compare, but from what I see, the only difference is the torque curve, but about the same power output.
For the diff, the previous owner for my car replaced the diff with an 07 model when it blew on him, so it was no worries in that sense. He said it wasn't too much of a job, but I don't know. I never had to touch the diff though. There are differential kits as well to a Ford 8.8. Solid, but pricey. If you do get an 04-05, I would make sure to check if its been done already, and if not, save up for a used 06-07 diff. If you do get an earlier one with the early diff, just know that a lot of the blowouts were due to hard usage / launching and the wheel hop that came with it. I am not sure if the older unit could handle the torque, so if you are racing it, I would replace it sooner rather than later, but if you aren't, you might be able to get away with it for a bit.
In terms of ownership, one of the complaints I had with the car, and I am sure you will notice this when shopping around, is that the paint on the radio / info screen buttons, in particular the top right button, wears off very easily. It always looked just...meh. That and the cigarette lighter outlet location was odd when shifting into 5th and Reverse. If you don't use it, it shouldn't be a problem. Minor things when you consider how much car you are getting for the price, atleast for now.
When you do get one, I would make sure you check for a couple things: The engine mounts and driveshaft carrier bushings. I got mine without a PPI and ended up needing to get new engine mounts ( they are fluid filled and were ruptured) and a new driveshaft (the bushings can't be removed, so I replaced the entire thing).
I recommend getting a creative steel bushing kit for the shifter. It makes a pretty big difference in shifter feel. Its very rubbery stock. Also an LS7 clutch set up should you need a new clutch. I hated the clunking that the stock dual mass FW made when the car shut off.
I hope this was somewhat helpful. They are great cars and I certainly hope you enjoy it when you get it.
      Stay safe out there,
      -Luis

@@luisbalderrama8145 I know you made your comment a year ago, but I’m considering getting a 1st gen as my second car. I’ve found I love Manuel muscle sedans and it seems like a great fit, however I have reservations about having it as a daily. How’s the reliability for day to day, and how do you think it would do in the snow, as I live in Nebraska.
