I did my first deep freeze bushcraft when I was 12 in boy scouts. We were up in the forest in the Finger lakes. It was 10 below all weekend in early January. Our scout master taught us well on surviving outside in sub zero weather with a tarp tent. We heated stones for our beds. Spent hours for wood and pine branches to make our bedding. I've been camping for 50 years since then. Learned a lot.
I always enjoy your videos..im 70 yr old and have never been in snow before. I live in the USA and it never snow in my state. But i do get a kick outta watching others do things in the snow. When i was younger i use to wanna go somewhere that got real snow but i never got the chance..i don't even own a heavy coat or boats, gloves, hat or scarf because it doesn't get that kinda cold. Our city is not equip to handle snow. Back in 1989 we got ice on the bridges and the Mayor locked down the city. No public transportation nor bridges open. But i admire you for making these videos. Stay warm and be safe.
Should have cut up and stockpiled lots of wood. Evidently no experience. Struggling to survive. What is your sleeping bag temperature? It's evident you didn't prepare for this enough. This trip will teach you.
Last December I did a 5 night trip in the Arizona high country. Camped at 7,000+ feet elevation with overnight temps that got down to 8° fahrenheit. We built a long fire against a rock bluff and that helped but honestly, good ground pads and army bags kept us toasty. Sleeping on top of snow is a trip.
Your videos regulate my nervous system! Which I appreciate so much. Especially when your warm by a fire! I love your pacing and way you edit the videos. Looking forward to seeing if you can make tiles sometime. I wish you safe travels, cosy sleeps and delicious food (sent from New Zealand)
l enjoy your many different ways of building shelters. We can tell when you are pleased because a smile comes across your face. Keep doing what you're doing. It keeps us guessing what you will build next.
@@katekobylarz3447 I watch what pops up on my algorithm instead of watching content of my Viking friend all day. Mostly I scroll to conservative channels. We have an important election coming in the US and have to decide between a leader or a babbling idiot. So loved your shelter finally something warmer and protective. Hope it really worked for you.❤❤ love your video ,its the only time I get way out doors now.🥴👵

I think that camping in snow is so danger.☃️ However, you have a high technique.🏕️ Thank you for being able to show splendid camping!✨ Your video became the good hint.🇯🇵
Hello again I love watching your videos. Please get two sleep ing bag it is so cold and don’t get ill.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏See you again Iam from London.
Put your gloves in your sleeping bag when you sleep, then you don’t have to put on hard, icy gloves. To be honest I’m very surprised there weren’t ice crystals all over those gloves 🧐
Might be time for a portable wood stove, i think it would be a great addition to your winter camping gear and a wise investment as to prevent any damage to your other gear from open fires. Not to mention being able to set it up in almost any type of structure you build for your camping adventures... Just a thought...
Hello, very good video. Living in the forest. Building a complete survival shelter is very interesting and useful. I liked your video. Wishing you good health and continue to fight.❤🎉🎉😊
Well, it's nice to watch you do this. But I don't freeze for anybody. May I suggest that you also bring a pot and kettle with you, gather clean snow bring it to a boil and hard boil the frozen eggs. And make hot tea to drink, this would help you to stay a bit warmer maybe. A tent that excepts a small stove so a fire could be inside with you also would be nice. Just saying. ❤
Would a Thicker or heavier weight of fabric provide Coverage in that camouflage tarp that you use? ❤if it was a denser weight of 'fabric' it might block more of the ambient moisture out (before application of roofing insulation).
my thermometer says -13 C is 8 degrees F not 23 why difference. I have done some pretty cold camping on the Appalachian trial in the winter it was interesting but not fun Enjoy all your videos keep them coming

Every second showing adjustments to even a simple log platform highlights a truly unrivaled survival methodology. Well done.

Good afternoon everyone hope you are having a good day. Greetings from the USA. Good job stay safe. Rainy and warm here.
always watching from the philippines
In the Phillipines? You should be shooting pool.
43:00 I was thinking maybe the snow would not go into the shelter as much if you stood up some pine boughs against the poles.
I think that camping in snow is so danger.☃️
However, you have a high technique.🏕️
Thank you for being able to show splendid camping!✨
Your video became the good hint.🇯🇵
Maybe up grading your sleeping bag and mats may help with cold. Extra wool blankets. Stay warm

A small shovel would be a useful addition on future trips.

Hello there!
I needed this video, in the heart of the heatwave here in Greece 😅😅
So, this is where you've got all that bark! It all makes sense now!
Mix a few grand limbs in with it as you go up the Pine Green limbs will help the snow stay in place
hell yeah man. another sweet vid. it was -9 in the mtns down south here in Australia the other day. not much snow but def very chilly also!
🤙
I thought Australia was warm? Crocodiles, snakes and shiznit.
Not in winter
@robjenno21 oh really? In Florida or other warm states here it never snows. I thought it was warm like that there. I guess not.
@tyarnold4088 yeah up north is 30C and down south is snowing and -10C sometimes
Priority one, start and maintain a good hot fire throughout the night at all costs......
Awesome video as usual
My Sami brothers and sisters, I love you so much. Greetings from Maine. ❄💚🌲

To get some fire woods 😁 and stay warm

FREEZING WINTER
Wow..
Good bro, from indonesia.
You didn't put branches before the snow & the snow kept going in but your camps are the best 😊
Bom domingo para você Lukas seja bem vindo meu amigo 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🤠 OK obrigado
Nice 👍
You're learning but you could take a survival class. Tie those logs with rope or natural ivy vine. Even fresh pine branches will tie.

Great Mr amazing 👍👌🙏❤
May i ask what rating your sleeping bag is. Your snow shield with your tarp looked good!
Its for -8 Celcius
I am sssooooooo e n vious!!!!!
More logs and a heat deflector wall
Plus a double-walled tent
Question why no green boughs between the cracks '''' b4 ''' you put snow against the tarp and windbreak wall
A kife-long experiebce !
I have seen videos where they use pine tree limbs for wind barriers. Is snow better?
❤❤❤❤❤GOD WITH AND FOR YOU IN JESUS NAME

I won’t say it looks cozy but it’s survival and doable, though, I think I would’ve gathered enough wood to keep the fire burning all night.
Even in -37c I was never cold, I guess I’m hot blooded with a couple of reindeer skins, a decent mat and a Canada jay sleeping bag by ray mears.
good luck
Where is your wood supply you must have loads of it to add to the 🔥 to stay warm logs
Being from Africa it is difficult to try and fathom that type of cold.
just a tarp and snow everywhere
Pantanal Sul do Mato Grosso do Sul Brasil
Maybe eating some carbs for a change would help you stay warm.
MUITO BOM THE MOVIE
Why not use pine boughs on your bed, and a better fire to stay warmer?
