There is another permanent XXL called The Beast exists in Myrtle Beach with two inside and two outside facing seats. Rode it last summer and got some on ride videos of it. Iconic Midway Rides/Wade Shows XXL called Kraken debuted in San Antonio last month.
I got to ride one of these today at the South Florida Fair, I was terrified of the thing all day but once I rode it, it was the most safe I felt in any of the rides that day, the restraints feel so secure, and the entire ride structure doesn't move at all even while the pendulum is swinging at max speed
I rode The Beast at the Gold Coast show and the Brisbane Ekka. Any pendulum ride scares the hell out of me but I’m drawn to ride them like a moth to a flame.
Ah yes the XXL, something I would call a modern classic on the German fairgrounds. I swear the way you talk about KMG and Huss rides, you gotta come to Germany or the Netherlands and experience, what an operator controlled, european built portable thrill ride is all about.
@@CoasterCollege Glad to hear. Btw: Your episode 8 is named incorrectly. The video is about the MoonDance/Heavy Rotation and the title is the same as the 7th episode; Sky Roller/Sky Fly. You might wanna fix that ^^
We have one at Playland in Vancouver and it's the world's best flat ride. There are MANY programs of setting the parks/operators can use depending on crowds too. The "extreme" setting is max swings forever (at least it feels like forever); which happened to me once on an empty day in 2018.
Kraken popped up in Corpus Christi back in May as well as State Fair of Texas right now, it always seems to be accompanied by a Larson loop called "Infinity" and a LED decorated spinning mouse
A little disclaimer here to those HIGHLY sensitive to motion sickness. This would be better listened to audio wise than watching it due to a lot of first person type of spinning imagery. You will have an increased risk of motion sickness being triggered. Note: coming from someone who falls into this category themselves but still enjoys the content.
You have one thing wrong. Kroon, the owner of KMG, travelled with the prototype XXL. The owners of KMG are showmans theirself, and have taken their prototype rides to the fairs themselves to proof their concept. Also a new KMG XXL is going to Germany and one to The Netherlands-Germany in 2025.
I just got to ride an XXL at the California State Fair and I have to say that ride is absolutely crazy. Was it scary knowing it’s portable yes. But it was absolutely worth it. The first time we went our cycle was about 6 minutes. Our second cycle was pretty short but that was probably for the better with how burnt out we were after a bunch of rides. If you get the chance to ride one I highly recommend it.
The Beast in Myrtle Beach is the only one of this pendulum flat ride I’ve ridden and it’s actually quite terrifying riding it at night it’s amazing though my favorite at the Pavilion Park at Broadway at the Beach
I wanted to ride it a few years ago, but I think they wanted $20 per person for one ride on it, I, unfortunately had to pass on it as it was a little too expensive for me at the time.
Ever since the XXL models are on our german fairs, I think the smaller pendelum rides like the Freak Outs or Afterburners. The sustained airtime is just so nice. I've ridden every german one right now, and I love all of them. Probably one of my favorite rides to film and to ride. Btw if you need any footage from my channel (german fair flat rides) just let me know under the vid. I'm happy to share if it helps you.
This is definitely an example of a ride that doesn't look very impressive because the vehicle is smaller, but hasn't forgotten that small things accelerate faster which tends to make them more intense; which I gotta be honest, I wasn't expecting from the outset for some reason ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
they are fun, but don't really do much. i like the positives and speed, however the hangtime is not that good, especially after riding a kmg inversion xxl
Many mistakes in this video 🤔 there are a lot more than 7 examples (somebody else already entered a list as a comment) and at least 2 park models both with 2 outward facing seats. Both named The Beast and one looks a lot like the australian one because it has the same paintings. Also there are several ordered the last few years. KMG existed from the early 90's (the first tropical trip was build in 1987 and ishe kroon founded kmg not long after that because there was a huge demand for tropical trip rides.) The first xxl was in 2006 so the company already had a 15+ year lifespan at that point. The first xxl was first run by the kroon family themselves as several of the prototypes did. 2:33 That footage is taken in Ballarat at the Ballarat Showgrounds. Sadly the showgrounds have since been closed, despite being heritage.
I'm glad your using THE BEAST footage from Australia....I love that ride, everytime I got on it is see at least 1 to 3 people pass out on it.
As far as I know there are these:
1 XXL Best Exclusive 🇩🇪

6 The Beast 🇦🇺

I've done 2 of these rides and they are awesome. Very intense and some good Airtime.
The video of the assembly is very cool! I'd love a video about ride transport and assembly if that's something you'd be interested in doing someday.

Best travelling ride I’ve ever been in on
There is an XXL in the uk
Clayton mannings I believe
we also have an XXL in the UK, owned by Thurstons (used to be owned by mannings too) it goes to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park

I thought that The Kraken XXL was traveling with RCS (Ray Cammack Shows)?
RCS has a new break dance ride called overdrive
I wasnt able to ride Kraken when it came to the San Diego County Fair because it has like body size limit 😭

I saw one at the Del Mar Fair this year. I wanted to ride it but the line was way too long.
i dont believe this is the most intense ride in the world.
The only time i see these crazy rides are in Neede at KMG
Manning and Thurston's UK owned XXL which is currently at the Hoppings should be mentioned
