I have a cintiq 22", but decided to buy this one even though I had the worst experience and association with huion until now (a few years ago wacom was really the best and huion was really total crap, with a fraying screen, worse colors and brightness). Now it is a much cooler tablet, much lighter, thinner than the cintiq, both in terms of features and in practice. It is nicer in every way, from the materials of the body to the speed of action. I am very glad I bought it. My friend listened to my surprise and decided to buy a pro 24", it's a little older, but so far the coolest of the line of display tablets. For me 16" is the best!
I've been review hopping for a while now about this tablet, and this was by far the most detailed and comprehensive review I've found. All of the information presented was very helpful and seems very honest. Thank you so much for making this.
ive had a kamvas pro 13 for 5 years now, almost 6, and have been looking to upgrade since my old one has begun having some issues with misclicking and me dropping it a few more times than i should. this review was incredibly helpful for helping me decide which one to get! thank you for the very high quality review!
Really good in-depth review, it even covered my concern about the left handed option and how it will affect the cable attached to the tablet. Well done! Thank you for the video :)
Teoh, thank you so much for this incredibly detailed review. It was so helpful to me in deciding whether or not to buy it (which I did). I so appreciate the side-by-side comparison of different resolutions, and the info about color profiles. I'm still learning, and you're teaching me a lot. Thank you!
I bought the Huion Kamvas 22 Plus thanks to your review and as a left handed user I had to recalibrate the cursor because the pen would be missplaced by quite some pixels. Not an issue really, I just had to recalibrate it :)
That's a terrific picture you have created! (I am not knowledgeable, though, either in terms of art or technology ). This seems like a great device to have a lot of fun on . Fantastic really. Excellent review , thank you.
thank you so so so much for this review, I had been looking for a review of the newer pro's but couldn't find anyone talking about them only the older models. Thank you for this I feel more confident getting his now, little afraid of the driver issues but the price model is so much easier to swallow than Wacom's tablets.
They shouldve flip the orientation of the cable so that the longside is pointing inwards. I think that looks neater idk, otherwise this seem like a fantastiic looking new product from them. It looks premium. My own 13" still new - looking foward where this line will end, they seem to have listened to some of the user feedbacks.
Ohh thats good to know, how long have you using your 13" for? Do the nibs rly wear very quick, or the screen get usage marks quickly? If you dont mind me asking :D
@@SeaSerpentLevi about 10months now of heavy usage. When I'm not drawing I use it as screen and carry it around everyday with my laptop. So it has withstand that. I use USB-C [not huion] Scratches are expected for screen protector, nib doesn't wear out that much but may vary depending on how hard you draw. I notice plastic nibs scratches the screen alot. Its annoying TBH. Since switching to felt that has reduce, I honestly has not seen a major scratch using felt [but it wears faster than plastic] On 10mo. I have only replaced 1 plastic nib, has just recently replaced the felt nib. My friend who draw heavier had replaced her felt nibs at a faster rate than I do. [I draw light]
I really need help immediately plss Didi u feel 13 inch enough, or rather i shud say perfect with or without ui And do u suggest 16inch 1080p over 13inch 2k res
@@NNG_yt i think 2,5 k at 13 is overkill you'll just end up zooming it back to 1080 because at that size icon will be so small, but 2.5 would be perfect for 16 in. 13 is pretty enough space for my arm for me if i have my app in fullscreen mostly canvas mode with only few tools visible when needed. Now this is personal - i myself favor larger screen [20"+ and lots of visible tools and toolbox] so the 13 is good for me but i compromise with the tools i view. Again thats because i favor having lots of tools visible and smaller screen just make icons so small hahahaa.
The colors in this display was phenomenal, almost in the ballpark of those retina displays from Apple imacs though I kinda wish Huion would also give the same treatment to the 22 inch variants. The 16 inch segment even got the 4k treatment, so why not the 22 ones.
@@peterdejong5456 what I mean is they should also make a 1440p variant of the 22s at least. I have the 22 plus and the colors are great although I kinda wished the resolution was a notched more higher.
@@Chonkeeartist9001 I see. You already have the colour upgrade. If you require higher res then choose the 24 Plus. That offers 1440p QHD (pixel size appr 0.20 mm vs 0.25 mm on the 22 Plus). Keep in mind Apple's Retina resolution on the iPad is only slightly less than 4K on this 16 inch (pixel size appr 0.10 mm). Everyone notices FHD pixelation on pen displays at first but many get used to it. 2.5K seems to be the sweet spot as 4K introduces scaling issues and is far more costly.
@@Chonkeeartist9001 I've been saying the same thing. The 24 2k is slightly too big for me and if I'm getting a screen that big I'd want it to be 4k. The 22 is the perfect size for me which would still look great in 2k but for whatever reason they seem to be leaving that size in the dust. I'd love to get something bigger than my Ipad Pro but Huion basically only offers really big or small options.
Have you ever got to compare the colors between this 16" 2.5K tablet with the 16" 4K Plus model? I have the 4K plus and the reds are more like magentas than red, so I wonder if this one has this issue too
Was about to pick one up but then I saw the shipping price of 80 euros :'D(I live in Lithuania I don't know why it's so expensive to ship here...) I guess i'll have to wait till it comes to retail stores nearby. BTW great detailed review just what I was looking for!
It's going to have the same performance, but look sharper since it's the same amount of pixels squeezed into a smaller display. 1080P scaling is probably needed for the 13.3 inch.
I love my Huion tablets, but their driver software is so irritatingly buggy. Things like having to go back in and reassign the working area because the pen has decided to jump to another display (and I don't have the Change Display set at all), or it crashes in the background, making the buttons to my display and KD100 non-responsive until I restart the driver software. Things like that. But, boy, for me, the pens are so dead-on perfect. And I love the feel of their matte surfaces, especially when using a flat nib. Just wish they'd fix that software. (Intel Mac, Big Sur)
Thanks for the review! I have a Huion tablet (older model, kamvas pro 16) but I'm having a hard time calibrating my colors :( The tablet makes them too saturated and red-ish, did you have the same problem? How do you calibrate your tablets? Thanks!!
ery cool video, i liked all the details you pointed out!Could you make a video about the scaling also? to se how small can photoshop and clip studio paint be(for the 16 inch) in maximum resolution with smallest interface like 100%?
Hello Teoh, may I ask your opinion on the quality of the screen? I bought and returned a Huion Kanvas Pro 16 (4K) because the screen's matte layer made it look like there was very distracting color noise. Does the Kanvas Pro 16 (2.5K) have the same problem? Thanks!
Yes there's colour noise introduced by the matte surface too. It's the compromise between matte surface for the textured drawing experience. The only pen display I know that has less colour noise due to the matte surface is the XP Pen 16TP which has touchscreen but the touchscreen doesn't work that well with Windows.
Bought and used this for 2 months now. Its a bit of hassle if your left-handed but I ended up using it as portrait mode. However be careful with using the stand with portrait mode. Leaning on it too much will push the tablet out. I would consider the 13" for portrait setup and 16" for landscape.
@@HappyKatze I already have an ipad pro but I wanted to use adobe for creating professional art because it’s the industry’s standard thanks for recommending. also why not kamvas 22? cause you recommend 24 and 13 😊
@@AwjayTV Kamvas 22 uses 1920x1080p, its terrible resolution, perhaps I am spoiled. But If you are using iPad pro now and going over to 22, then you will immediately see the pixels and bad color. I am using multiple 1440p monitors, ultrawide and such. And just dread to go think about the 1080p ones. So 22 kamvas is absolute no go for me. However, the reason I recommend the 24" is because I am been using the 16" which is 1440p and feel its not enough. Also 16" is so wide and weird. for my use. Thats why I would recommend 13" for the flexibility to go portrait mode or just go all out and get the 24" which gives you a lot more screen space and focus. Huion has both 1440p 24" and 4k 24". If budget isn't the issue, then I would go for the 24" 4k resolution one. However the 24" 1440p is more value for the price.
I'm intrigued by the performance of this newer tablet compared to the Xp Pen Artist Pro 16 2021 which claims it has a new technology that reduces initial activation force and in general offers a better drawing experience. In your experience, is there a noticeable difference? I've been eyeing the XpPen 16 Artist Pro 16 ever since it came out, but now I'm doubting myself! Which one would you pick? (I'm not picky about the screen resolution)
Both pen displays have minimal initial activation force. It's difficult to differentiate them as their performance are quite similar. Generally speaking, my recommendation is to go with the display that has higher brightness, the ports you need. If prices are not too difference, go with 1440P resolution, but otherwise 1080P are more worth the money simply because they are cheaper.
Budget aside, would you go for the Kamvas Pro 16 (2.5K) or the Kamvas Pro 16 (4K)? Somehow the 4K version feels like a bit of an overkill for a display this size.
The visual upgrade from 1080P to 1440P is more noticeable than 1440P to 4K. In terms of pricing, 1440P is also better since it's significantly cheaper.
I wonder if you can compare the drawing experience between this and the GAOMON PD1610. I commented on your other video saying that I'm 99% sure about buying this and apparently there's a sale coming soon. But then by chance I've found out about the GAOMON PD1610 and your video on it. I'm not a big fan on paper texture and would rather have a glossier screen, and more workspace the merrier. The PD1610 is about 40 USD more expensive given the Huion 16 (2.5K) goes on sale very soon. Am conflicted again but still leaning towards the Huion due to faster shipment, and I managed to try the RDS160 and 220 and felt pretty good, couldn't find physical samples for the 2.5K and any Gaomon products to test on.
Hi Teoh, thanks for this detailed review. I just wanted to know if you could clarify something - you mention that the tilt function follows the direction of the pen. Does this mean you can use a tilt-enabled brush to altnernate between thin and thick strokes (like barrell rotation)? I really appreciate all your reviews and I hope you will be able to respond to this!
Barrel rotation is more flexible to use. Eg you can draw thin or thick strokes with a flat brush without changing your hand’s position. With normal tilt, you have to change your hand position (pen direction) to control the stroke.
@@teohontech7141 Thanks! I don't mind changing my hand position -- I think it would be roughly the same experience as using a pencil with a long point sharpened with sandpaper. Thanks a lot for the quick reply!
Really good review thank you do much! As for me, it is the best! Can't decide between 16 (2.5k) and 22 Plus. Is this there photoshop-pressure problems in both models? Thank you!
Not sure about Photoshop pressure but it's quite uncommon to happen. Between the two, I would say choose based on you table size. 22 is good if you want to use it as a main display too.
Thanks so much for this review! Just want to ask your opinion if the 4k is worth it for a 16 inch or is it better to get 4k for screens bigger than a 16 inch?
Do you know if this works well with Affinity products ? Looks a great product but finding it difficult to find out if Huion and Affinity work well together - thanks in advance.
4:46 This tablet really wasn't designed for the left hand. Thanks for commenting on. Do you know if it is possible to use a DisplayPort to Usbc adapter on a gaphic card to use the single cable option?
Hi Teoh, Do you think this tablet (Kamvas Pro 16 2.5k) is worth getting over the Kamvas RDS-160 (upgraded Kamvas 16 2021 with etched glass and 140% sRGB)? Main difference is 1440p vs 1080p and 14ms vs 25ms response time. Price difference is around $200 USD more for the 2.5k ($350 vs $550 USD). Is the higher resolution and response time worth the price difference? My main use will be Clip Studio on Windows, and this will be my first pen display (been using regular pen tablet for years). Both seem like a good deal. Very hard to decide 😵💫! Thanks!
Both are worth the money. So it really depends on how much you want to spend. Both displays are going to be used with 1080P workspace, but the 2.5K will have noticeably sharper image. In terms of value for money, the 1080P model provides more value simply because it's cheaper.
@@teohontech7141 Thanks for the reply! The 1080p is definitely better value and I'm leaning a bit more towards it. The one big thing drawing me to the 2.5k is that my main desktop monitor is 1440p as well, and I wonder if I could mirror my main monitor with the tablet and work that way? I have more monitors as secondary screens (for reference art). Use the tablet when I need to draw, and look back at my main monitor for any keyboard/mouse tasks. Might help change posture often too? I am worried about posture and eyestrain from staring too close at a screen. Is that a setup that might work or not really? (haven't used pen display before)
@@teohontech7141 Thanks! I think I'll be going with the RDS-160 as my first pen display. Can always upgrade to something more high-end in the future if it works out. Awesome reviews, all the best!
Hello Teoh, I really love your review. They are very informative and they are one of the most unbiased review I've seen on UA-cam. I'm currently hesitating between this tablet (Kamvas pro 16 (2.5k)) and the Kamvas 22 plus. I didn't find much about comparison review between both. Plus, it seems as if Huion and others are starting to make more of those 2.5K, and I'm wondering if there wouldn't be any 22'' display coming soon with 2.5k... or if one company does it already. I never used pen display before, I always drew on graphic displays. So this would be a new experience to me. I feel like the 22'' would be great for the extra drawing area but I'm concerned about the full HD, versus the 2.5K of the 16'' counterpart. Do you think the 22'' is really better than the 16'' for drawing in terms of drawing area, given the difference in resolution? Do you have any opinions on these topics? It would be of great help in figuring out my final choice. Plus, I'm sure I'm not the only one in this 2.5k (small screen) vs full HD (big screen) boat. Thank you!
16 inch is a nice size to work with. I don't consider this to be small, but of course 22 will be larger. 1080P resolution still works alright on 22-inch just that you will see noticeable pixelation that's all.
Thank you for the reply Teoh. It is really appreciated. I decided to go with the 22. I think the larger size will be better and I've heard the pixelation is pretty easy to get used to. I'm gonna use it as a monitor when not drawing.
A question, is one USB type C cable enough to provide the power and transfer data? because in their website it shows you need USB C + another Cable to provide power. Thanks A lot.
I’ve had worse issue with the old huion kamvas 16, the cursor offset always occur and always a big offset on different areas, I had to calibrate every time I use it and sometimes when I use it for a long time , I noticed the offset is getting bigger again, I wonder if this is still an issue in this display
Hi Teoh! I wonder is this kamvas pro 16 better for drawing compared to the Ipad pro 12.9 5th gen?. Thinking about the pens sensitivity/responsiviness/exactness on the screen. Which one would a professional choose and why? And your choice? thx!
Pen displays such as the Huion Kamvas Pro will have slightly better sensitivity and accuracy. Apple Pencil performance close. You can get either. I recommend choosing based on the apps you want to use, and whether you need portability.
hi Teoh i just love your reviews i want to buy a pen display tablet and i wonder wich one do you recommande this one or pro 16 (2021) wich one does really worth ? is there a really big differance between the two for me as an illustrator and 3 D ARTIST (BEGINNER)
The main difference is 1080P vs 1440P resolution. 1440P is noticeably sharper so if you have the budget, 1440P resolution is the one I recommend. All other differences are minor. Both 1080P and 1440P are worth the money. It comes down to how much you want to spend.
The cheaper models are always going to provide more value for money simply because they are noticeably cheaper. I would say all the three models are worth the money so ultimately it depends on how much you're willing to spend. 1440P resolution is really nice and to me it's a huge step up from 1080P, but the price is also a huge step up. lol.
@@teohontech7141 on official store yes, in my country I can buy it cheaper than official, LOL. i guess i will get the newer version then. Thank you for your reponse, keep up the good work :)
I am so tempted to upgrade from my cintiq 13HD, but everyone keeps telling me an upgrade to 16 isn't worthwhile, it doesn't look like it would make much difference to extra height I would gain on screen ( maybe about 2cm ) but I am tempted. Do you know if you can turn this vertically and it stay balance on the stand? or would that be unrealistic. Many thanks
What did you end up with? I'm in the exact same situation now, considering moving from 13HD, but 13" kinda feels fine already except for its 1080p resolution, and all the stories about rainbow coating scare me.
@@Lishtenbird hey I bought and reviewed the huion 16. So that will probably give my thoughts better than I can type it. I'm still using it and haven't gone back to the 13, it's not perfect but it's good especially for the price
hi teoh! im on the verge on buyin either this or the samsung ultra s8. which do you recommend for a stationary drawing device? money or software isnt the main issues here. drawing experience is. thx!
My serious question is how accurate for colors? I always struggle how dull it looks on display than the monitor, I know it's not always accurate but it's annoying how I can see the saturation between them 😥 I've tried so many ways to calibrate no matter how many times. If this tablet is better than previous kamvas then I might get an upgrade
I measured 99% sRGB, 97% AdobeRGB and 158 nits brightness. Colour accuracy is fantastic but brightness is kinda lacking compared to desktop monitors so perhaps that's why the colours don't look as vibrant.
I was ready to buy the Huion Kamvas Pro 16 tablet when I read a more recent review that said that this tablet paired with a new M1 Mac and the Adobe Suite didn't play well together. Do you have experience with this trio? What are your thoughts? I know perfect is impossible but I'm new to this game and would like to get the best tablet I can afford for the two products I already have invested in. Thank you.
It’s because MacOS does not work well with 16 inch displays with 2.5K resolution. Either go 1080P or 4K for 16 inch. If you have budget 2.5K resolution is good on 24 inch
Hi!! sorry if i might bother you for this question but do the 2,5k huion kamvas works on a normal 1080 screen laptop or it needs to be updated? thank you so much again!
I know I'm a bit late but how would the Huion Kamvas Pro 16 2.5K (that's a mouthful) compare to the regular Cintiq 16? I feel like its a fair comparison and think the Huion is a somewhat improved version of it for a cheaper price. Can't seem to find many direct comparisons, I appreciate you responding to most of the comments by the way :) Super helpful
Unfortunately I've not tested Wacom Cintiq for a long time now so I can't say much about that. All I can say is the drawing performance of Huion is good, with or without comparison.
I'm thinking of learning digital art. Researched much and ended up confused about buying which one huion Kamvas pro 16 or huion Kamvas pro 16 2.5k. Please could you suggest which one is better for me?
I just purchased this and the screen has an almost oily look when it's turned on. I'm not sure how else to describe it. Is that the lamination or did I get a bad one? This is my first Drawing tablet so I'm not sure if it's supposed to look this way.
Hello ! At the moment there are several interesting promotions and I wonder which tablet to choose between the innovator 16 / artist pro 16 / kamvas pro 16 2.5k. I can go up to 600€ max so it's not a problem for these 3 models. I can't decide!? I have a regular use for digital painting and animation.
@@teohontech7141 oO! Thanks for the quick response :) Could I have a little explanation? There's something I'm having trouble understanding. Is it such a big difference to paint on 1920x1080 or 2560x1440?
@@sylv20w The main difference between the two is, the UI elements (toolbars, icons, palettes) will be similar in size, but the 2.5K resolution will make the UI elements appear sharper and more detailed. The 2nd advantage of the 2.5K is you have more options for scaling the UI size as there are more pixels. But drawing performance is similar.
Quick question: I have multiple screens, does this will support them, and not limit me with only mirroring option. I have 2 2 exterior screens and including them on my workflow will be ideal.
Hello, the best graphics tablet reviewer on UA-cam! Please advise what to buy. Xp-pen artist 16 pro, or this tablet. How is the new huion better than the Xp-pen 16 pro, except for the resolution. I've been drawing with a wacom cintiq 16 for two years, and decided to try other popular tablets, they say they are now even a little better than wacom. 🤔
The drawing performance of both brands is actually quite similar so just choose based on other features you like, e.g. design, buttons, goodies included. In terms of value for money, the cheaper one will provide more value for money. I would actually recommend XP-Pen Artist 16 (2nd gen) over the Artist 16 Pro because I don't like how the cable sticks out from that one, and also from the Huion. If you have more budget, the Huion Kamvas Pro 16 (2.5K) is good. The increase in resolution does make it more satisfying for work as all the visuals are noticeably sharper. But this is also way more expensive. www.parkablogs.com/content/review-xp-pen-artist-16-2nd-gen
It's just default settings with Krita which usually just works with most pen tablets and pen displays I've tested before. Not sure what it's not working here. Could be software or driver. The settings clearly shows pressure is enabled but it's just not working.
I wonder why they call it 2.5k if it's actually 1.4k? Seems like false advertisement or am I missing something? Edit: ok so I just looked it up and 1440 is the vertical pixels, 2.5k is the horizontal. I'm probably the only one who was confused by this, but you learn something new every day so at least I got my something learned early in the day 😅
I wonder which is the best display tablet... the XP Pen 16TP 4k, or this Huion Kamvas 16 2.5k. Any thoughts? Here in Brazil the XP Pen is cheaper... but its not QLED. I use mac, so.. I wont use touch sreen, on xp pen.
I recently bought this tablet but the usbc cable is too short (1m) what cable would you recommend me to get? Or should I buy the $69 dollar one huion is offering? Thank you!
Just get a female USB-C to female USB-C adapter and a USB C video cable. OR get a female to male USB-C video cable. Extension cables can be used. Either way will be cheaper than buying from Huion
Theres a noticable lag , is it better on clip studio? I heard Photoshop have more lag in comparison to other apps. Im intreseted in byuing this, but i would like to lag be closer to ipads.

@@teohontech7141 Thank you for the response! As this is my first display tablet, I can’t figure what to invest in. They both are similar in price range and I’ll be able to manage the table space.
Thank you for the amazing review, as always. I really appreciate that you mentioned that not all the computers can run a 4k display at 60hrz. This point is often missing in videos about pen displays. (I have an RTX 2060, so I guess I should be able to run the 4K model easily) Did you find any problems with clip studio paint on windows? Also, looking forward for the more in-depth review and an eventual comparison with the kamvas pro 16 4K
RTX 2060 is very powerful and will have no issues with 4K. I no longer have that 4K model so I can't compare. But to me the main differentiating factor is price. 4K is significantly more expensive.
@@teohontech7141 I agree but I only had the chance to use a cintiq pro 16 in bic-camera for only around 30 minutes. So I cannot be completely sure, eventually someone will do a comparison. Also, hoping to see a review of the new cintiq pro 16 from you
I don't know why they make so many 16 inch tablets. Due to the aspect ratio, they have less vertical space than an A4-sheet of paper by roughly an inch. I also don't wanna buy a 24, that is way too big and takes up too much desk space. I'd like a screen that can fit an A4, with just a moderate amount of extra space for the art program interfaces.
I agree, if anything they should be upgrading more options in the 22inch display line like higher resolution and other things. I have the Kamvas 22 plus and while I’ve liked it a bump in screen resolution would be appreciated
Hi, do you know how long a pen and display tablet should last in the long term? I have the kamvas pro 16 and it has major calibration issues and it just started to have screen flashing when I open the screen. I mostly have huge issues in calibration when I put my windows setting on extended but not as much when it's on duplicate screen. I can still see the off center cursor when I draw on duplicate screen. I only had the 2018 model for 2 years (2020-2022). I was hoping to keep the one I actually have for 2 more years before getting the kamvas pro 16 2.5k at 799,99$ CAD. The 16 pro 2.5k isn't 599,99$ for me.
Difficult to say. These should last until they physically break down. But there may be other faults also. For your situation, what happens if it’s not duplicated but just the pen display as the only display?
@@teohontech7141 If it's only on the pen display tablet, it would still ve off center. And today, my kamvas pro 13 decided to do screen flashing. I had a high suspicion that it was my tablet the problem and the screen flashing just confirmed my suspicions. I'd say that the hardware of the tablet can also break down and that's without any physical break down.

Drawing performance to me is very similar. The Huion can get 100% brightness with just one cable. XP-Pen has to connect to additional power for 100% brightness. Other than that, it comes down to which design you like better.

What tablet did you end up getting? I’m also left-handed is still undecided.

Not an issue really, I just had to recalibrate it :)

thank you so so so much for this review, I had been looking for a review of the newer pro's but couldn't find anyone talking about them only the older models. Thank you for this I feel more confident getting his now, little afraid of the driver issues but the price model is so much easier to swallow than Wacom's tablets.
Looks good! I watched the launch trailer on huion's Instagram and I've been waiting for a review... Thank you so much.

A fantastic review, thank you very much. Just what I wanted to know and more.. I will be getting one of these as soon as I can afford one!
The best PEN DISPLAY of all time. Believe me.. 😍
Thank you very much for taking about left handed usage.
Love your reviews! Very in-depth and informative.
Better yet, they should've keep the cable port centered for left and right users.
I use USB-C [not huion]
Scratches are expected for screen protector, nib doesn't wear out that much but may vary depending on how hard you draw. I notice plastic nibs scratches the screen alot. Its annoying TBH. Since switching to felt that has reduce, I honestly has not seen a major scratch using felt [but it wears faster than plastic]
On 10mo. I have only replaced 1 plastic nib, has just recently replaced the felt nib. My friend who draw heavier had replaced her felt nibs at a faster rate than I do. [I draw light]

Didi u feel 13 inch enough, or rather i shud say perfect with or without ui
And do u suggest 16inch 1080p over 13inch 2k res
Thanks for the video, super useful
The colors in this display was phenomenal, almost in the ballpark of those retina displays from Apple imacs though I kinda wish Huion would also give the same treatment to the 22 inch variants. The 16 inch segment even got the 4k treatment, so why not the 22 ones.
They do. Just order the 22 Plus version and you get the same specs.
I have the 4K plus and the reds are more like magentas than red, so I wonder if this one has this issue too
Thanks for this review !
Amazing review thank you! Extremely helpful, easy decision definitely going to make the purchase.
Was about to pick one up but then I saw the shipping price of 80 euros :'D(I live in Lithuania I don't know why it's so expensive to ship here...) I guess i'll have to wait till it comes to retail stores nearby. BTW great detailed review just what I was looking for!
Try it now from huion europe. I just got one with free shipping :)
Thank you very much for the review. It would be great if you can get your hands on the 13in. as well.
Thanks!!
I calibrate it with Spyder5pro colour calibrator. It's tedious to calibrate by eye. There's some tutorial on UA-cam.
ery cool video, i liked all the details you pointed out!Could you make a video about the scaling also? to se how small can photoshop and clip studio paint be(for the 16 inch) in maximum resolution with smallest interface like 100%?
Good idea. Anyway, 100% scaling (no scaling) will result in very small text and icons.
The only pen display I know that has less colour noise due to the matte surface is the XP Pen 16TP which has touchscreen but the touchscreen doesn't work that well with Windows.
great review, I have targeted this device for a next future.
Bought and used this for 2 months now. Its a bit of hassle if your left-handed but I ended up using it as portrait mode. However be careful with using the stand with portrait mode. Leaning on it too much will push the tablet out. I would consider the 13" for portrait setup and 16" for landscape.
what model do you recommend for Left handed people like me😅❤
If I were to buy today then I would go for either Ipad pro, 24 huion, or 13 huion. Depending on your budget@@AwjayTV
@@teohontech7141 thank you so much for answering!!
Great review as always, would you recommend this for the higher pixel density over the xp pen artist 22r pro tha tis 1080p?

Hey Teoh. Love your tablet reviews. What screen tablet up to $700 is #1 for you so far? Thank you!
Right now maybe this Huion or XP Pen artist pro 16. I've not tested Wacom
@@teohontech7141 since you mention it. this one or the xp pen? Huion is a bit more expensive but I’ve heard the colors and resolution are better
Main problem with this screen size occurs when you animate due to the timeline less room is left for drawing
I animate with this too. If you animate in photoshop you can undock the timeline and put it on the other monitor
@@teohontech7141 Ok, I see, thank you! :)
Thanks so much for this review! Just want to ask your opinion if the 4k is worth it for a 16 inch or is it better to get 4k for screens bigger than a 16 inch?
4K is better on larger displays. The upgrade in visual experience from 1080P to 1440P is more significant, to me, compared to 1440P to 4K.
Do you know if this works well with Affinity products ? Looks a great product but finding it difficult to find out if Huion and Affinity work well together - thanks in advance.

Hi Teoh,
Do you think this tablet (Kamvas Pro 16 2.5k) is worth getting over the Kamvas RDS-160 (upgraded Kamvas 16 2021 with etched glass and 140% sRGB)?
(haven't used pen display before)
@@sinfia9775 It usually doesn't make sense to mirror screens when using dual displays because dual display productivity is huge

The main difference is 1080P vs 1440P resolution. 1440P is noticeably sharper so if you have the budget, 1440P resolution is the one I recommend. All other differences are minor. Both 1080P and 1440P are worth the money. It comes down to how much you want to spend.

hi, compared to huion 16 (2021) and 16 pro, how is this new version better and worth higher cost? which of the three would you recommend most?
The cheaper models are always going to provide more value for money simply because they are noticeably cheaper. I would say all the three models are worth the money so ultimately it depends on how much you're willing to spend. 1440P resolution is really nice and to me it's a huge step up from 1080P, but the price is also a huge step up. lol.

Many thanks
The size difference is noticeable. You can cut out some pieces of paper to size and compare. Not sure about using it vertically on a stand though
What did you end up with? I'm in the exact same situation now, considering moving from 13HD, but 13" kinda feels fine already except for its 1080p resolution, and all the stories about rainbow coating scare me.

My serious question is how accurate for colors? I always struggle how dull it looks on display than the monitor, I know it's not always accurate but it's annoying how I can see the saturation between them 😥
I've tried so many ways to calibrate no matter how many times.

1440P resolution is good enough. No need for 4K and no point getting a touchscreen if you are not using finger gestures
@@teohontech7141 even if the XP Pen being cheaper? Thanks for the reply! Great videos!
can you review Huion kamvas rds-160 too?
I recently bought this tablet but the usbc cable is too short (1m) what cable would you recommend me to get? Or should I buy the $69 dollar one huion is offering? Thank you!
Just get a female USB-C to female USB-C adapter and a USB C video cable. OR get a female to male USB-C video cable.
Extension cables can be used.
Either way will be cheaper than buying from Huion
Theres a noticable lag , is it better on clip studio? I heard Photoshop have more lag in comparison to other apps.
Im intreseted in byuing this, but i would like to lag be closer to ipads.
The lag looks similar to me on CSP and Photoshop. It's the usual lag that has been there since there has been pen displays around. Even iPads have latency too with certain drawing apps.
Hello Teoh. I just recieved may kamvas 13 pro 2.5K. My issue right now is my pen cursor is not really on point especially when Im pointing my pen further away from the center of the screen. Do know how can I calibrate this?
There should be calibration button somewhere in the driver.
Can go in more in depth on how to customize the buttons, like undo and erase?
It’s pretty straightforward actually. Just click on the hotkey in the driver app, then enter the shortcut key
Hi, do you have a Display Screen Protector?
No. This is matte glass, not the removable screen protector
@@teohontech7141 but do they sell screen protector for that model?
@@luisdiegoav7474 Huion sells screen protectors for selected models. Check out their web store
Its Black friday so i want to buy a huion .. im a beginner (for using pen displays ..) I will use it only for drawing and painting my llustrations . This one seems to be the best so
far ..?
This is one of their better models
@@teohontech7141 yes, thank you😊
how does it compare to the Wacom Cintiq 16"?
Hi, is it a problem if I use my left hand? Is there a difference in using the left or right hand of this huion kamvas?
Should not be any problem with left hand. You have to turn the unit upside down so that the buttons are on the other side. L shape Cable will have to face up.
The touch strip is gone on this version :(
That's what I noticed and makes me sad as well.
Between this and Kamvas 22 Plus, which would you recommend?
Since I don’t have table space, i go with the smaller one
@@teohontech7141 Thank you for the response! As this is my first display tablet, I can’t figure what to invest in. They both are similar in price range and I’ll be able to manage the table space.
Thank you for the amazing review, as always. I really appreciate that you mentioned that not all the computers can run a 4k display at 60hrz. This point is often missing in videos about pen displays. (I have an RTX 2060, so I guess I should be able to run the 4K model easily)
Did you find any problems with clip studio paint on windows?
Also, looking forward for the more in-depth review and an eventual comparison with the kamvas pro 16 4K
RTX 2060 is very powerful and will have no issues with 4K. I no longer have that 4K model so I can't compare. But to me the main differentiating factor is price. 4K is significantly more expensive.
@@teohontech7141 I agree but I only had the chance to use a cintiq pro 16 in bic-camera for only around 30 minutes. So I cannot be completely sure, eventually someone will do a comparison.
Also, hoping to see a review of the new cintiq pro 16 from you
This or the xp pen artist pro 16 Gen 2?
Is his work it for a newer digital art drawer
Is Huion Kamvas 13 Pro(1.9K) still a good buy?
Yes
@@teohontech7141 thank you. do you prefer to use photoshop or clip studio paint?

Hi, If I order this tablet in US, can I choose a different plugar, the one for Europe on their own website?
They should ship the correct plug if you order from the European online store
I don't know why they make so many 16 inch tablets. Due to the aspect ratio, they have less vertical space than an A4-sheet of paper by roughly an inch. I also don't wanna buy a 24, that is way too big and takes up too much desk space. I'd like a screen that can fit an A4, with just a moderate amount of extra space for the art program interfaces.
I agree, if anything they should be upgrading more options in the 22inch display line like higher resolution and other things. I have the Kamvas 22 plus and while I’ve liked it a bump in screen resolution would be appreciated
@@snoozyA113 exactly
@@snoozyA113 how is your experience with 22 Plus? Sitting on the edge between this 16 Pro and 22 Plus. Wonder if the update 22 soonish.
It isnt $599 for you because that’s USD pricing. If you convert $799 CAD to USD, that’s about $640USD~
@@我-b2t I can't convert by myself the money currency. It'd be fun if they could say the price in other currency or at least have a screen saying all the other prices in the other currency.
Is there any way to fix the pressure sensitivity not working in illustrator on Mac OS?
Has anyone else experienced it not working?
Why doesn't anyone talk about the new 300 report rate this model has, when all others (beside Kamvas Pro 24 (4K)) have only 200 to 220?
Dumb question but how did you zoom at 19:36? Did you use a keydial?
Press Ctrl Spacebar and click
Would it be better to by this 2.5k or is it worth the extra cost to get the 4k (16")?
2.5K is more worth the money. The image quality improvement from 1080P to 1440P is more noticeable compared to 1440P to 4K.
@@teohontech7141 Great info. Thankyou. :)
Off-topic, but hoping someone will know the answer.. How did he fill a shape with paint bucket so perfectly, without white lines appearing around it?
You can use the magic wand selection tool instead of fill bucket. Then with the selection, use the Expand command to add 2px to the selection, then Fill
Is this still worth getting and hows the driver now?

Gracias
Please do the new huion kamvas pro 19
Have anyone seen any kamvas pro 13 (2.5k) review? I'm looking and looking and cannot find any yet :/ I would like to see it before buying it cuz I heard the previous pro 13 had a lot of wobbling and I wonder if it is so major with that new pro 13 as well.
How do you find it compared to newer XP-Pen?
Drawing performance to me is very similar. The Huion can get 100% brightness with just one cable. XP-Pen has to connect to additional power for 100% brightness. Other than that, it comes down to which design you like better.
@@teohontech7141 thank you for elaboration!
@@teohontech7141 please allow me one other question. How do you think this model compares with 22 Plus drawing-wise? I’m in between these two models now. Better resolution is probably not my biggest goal atm. I wonder which one has a “better” lamination.
