Man it seems so 'easy' over in us. Here in Sweden we have to come down between 20-27 inches and lay ground cloth and gravel before even thinking about pooring the good stuff in. Like your videos alot, thx
The beauty of living in warm southern california. Lots of areas with good soils and no frost to worry about. He does a great job with his work but he would definitely do things a little bit different in other areas of the US because of frost/soil differences and challenges.
I noticed that you didn't add rebar, or I didn't see it if you did, vertically every other block. When is it necessary to add them? Is it a height requirement? I'm working on building a wall about the same height as this one, maybe one row higher, I'm not certain yet.
If I build 2 ft high and 70 ft long retaining wall (against the slope), using 8x8x16 concrete block , what is the footing size (width and depth) should be? Thank you!.
Mr. Odell you're videos are outstanding, been watching them as a matter of fact I set my phone to alert me when you have a new video out. Keep up the great work, I'll be doing a 10foot retaining wall soon ay my home . Once again outstanding sir!
Just did my first block job. Not too extensive. Just blocked in a door way. When you're leveling block how perfect does it need to be? Does the bubble have to be in the middle or is within the lines good enough?
i've been looking through your vids all night trying to find the one best describing what i'm trying to do. This was it. I would really appreciate some more basic details on materials used. Mix used for footing? block type was bonbean? You said you can stack without grouting between?
Thank you, Mr. Odell. This short and sweet video helped me to understand how to do a short 'garden wall' in my back yard. I have watched MANY you-tube videos on this subject, but, it works or it doesn't.
This is another great video man. I need to replace the worn out railroad tie wall we have out front eventually but when I replace it I need to replace the side walls and the steps at the same time. Does your company provide consultations to folks who are doing DIY projects? I’d gladly pay to be able to speak to one of your people about the projects I want to complete here in PA. Thanks for the informative video again man. Take care!
Hi David, Henry here, am a fan of your videos. Question, I made a 4ft x3ft concrete countertop 3 1/2 inch thick, is it okay to build 8x8x16 cinder blocks 5 high for this concrete countertop?
This is not so simple of a job up in the north east where it gets very cold. In order to not have frost heaving you need to dig the footer down to the frost line, which can be as deep as 3-4 feet!

Sounds rough! but Thank you!

I believe it was the cordless Milwaukee 9" cut off saw

With that cement or mortar over bricks, is it water proof? My bricks are starting to look weird from water. Could be my sprinklers too.
Greate video. Do you have any videos on how to put up an interior wall on a concrete floor?
What did you use on the face of the wall? is it type s mortar?
Man. I wish this video was done in more detail so I could follow and copy you. Wish I could hire you but I’m in Colorado

I'm not familiar with the building codes there.
Try the local building department for free.
Odell Complete Concrete Thanks for the information. I’ll try that this week. Take care.
You would be a hell of a refractory guy Odell. Have you ever done any gunite?
No but once you can trowel concrete, gunite, drywall, stucco are all the same, only difference is vertical
Hi David, Henry here, am a fan of your videos. Question, I made a 4ft x3ft concrete countertop 3 1/2 inch thick, is it okay to build 8x8x16 cinder blocks 5 high for this concrete countertop?
You'll need some big footings and framing to hold that up
Great video. What is the name of the song you used for this video?
Layla by Derek and the Dominos.
Thanks
Welcome
why do you run rebar horizontally at the base?
Keeps it from moving
Is it cheaper to do blocks and render?
