I got an AirTag and I think it has unlimited range because the Signal bounces of other iPhones in the area like piggy backing to constantly track your AirTag
Any reason the Test didn’t use the Chipolo One Spot rather than the ‘One’? The Spot uses apples ‘find my’ network and thus has the similar benefit of long range location (except for the directions in the last 8ft)
Huh? Based on those tests, why would she go with the Tile Pro? User base? Chipolo had much further range in your test but it's unusual for the Tile Pro to perform so poorly in distance. so I wonder if something was wrong with it. The missing test is being out of range and then walking back to find your missing tag. Will it connect fast enough that you don't walk on past it?
Once the new Google "find my device" network is up and running they should redo the test, as both Tile & Chipolo will use the passive network of android devices (like how airtags work).
Yesterday I have lost my wallet with an Airtag on it, on a restaurant in Madrid and, as I was reaching the airport, I noticed it was missing. Went back to the city center and found it no problem! That is to the huge network of Apple devices. It is not even a contest.
No mention of the Samsung SmartTag? I own 6 because as I did my own research & they were the best & yet they are missing from this comparison. If you did that then in this test I wonder what other tests you're leaving out worthy competition?
I noticed that, the Samsung SmartTag is one of the big players in this market on par with Apple's and yet they completely didn't mention it. A very poor test indeed.
I wish Android phones could work together to build a big network like iPhones and Galaxies do, so that Chipolo and others would be viable options for out of range finding. I like Chipolo, but without a big network of users a big feature will be completely useless.
sound in order to find it on the ball pits? Well…, the Apple AirTag has precision finding. You had the ability to use it and you didn’t so it is not fair!!
(1) Precision finding isn't available on all apple devices. You need a newer device (perhaps the M1 chip). (2) It was a sound test. (3) Does the precision location work at under 1 m? That would be good to know.
Hm, the range test is interesting. But wouldn't it be actually good to have a short range here? Because the phone then would warn you sooner that you left something behind.
None of these are good. by the time you log on to a website your item is gone. also who cares if the signal is 140 ft or 500ft. you need something that will alert you if you walk 3ft away from the item. This would be the best type of item tracker.
why the hell she is suggesting Tile where range suck and sound is same loud as chipolo? and battery life is 1 vs 2 years. The F..? its sad there is no such thing as apple have, because then android users would be very very happy.
That's funny because I have an Android phone & have something similar to an Airtag but since The Gadget Show didn't include or even mention it then you don't know what that is. Something fishy going on with this test.
Agree the Chipolo offers the best value for Android, especially when you consider that some features on the Tile are behind a paywall (something that really pissed me off about tile and now I refuse to buy their products)
So if someone passes your airtag and when it’s out of Bluetooth range then the air tag will lock onto other phones so you can find your lost item and let you know where it is?
air tags are frustrating , i couldn't find my cat one day and the apple air tag told me he was in the middle of the street, then it told me my air tag was with me. so frustration.

Tile hides their most useful features behind a subscription. Nope. Pass.
Companies need to fook off with their paywalls!
That’s the issue. £30 a year or £36 on a monthly subscription - to do something that the others do for free. Really frustrating.

Why would you recommend the Tile Pro if it's only a little louder? The Chipolo has a decent sound and an amazing range.
The Chipolo can now work with Apples Find My app system, so the exact same as the Air Tag. That makes it the best to me.
Also as an android user?
@@joshm6944 Unfortunately no. You also need the "Chipolo One Spot" and not the "Chipolo One"
does the Chipolo alert the (thief?) person being tracked on their iphone like the air tag?

plus tile have a new device
Did this update already happen?
The chipolo one uses findmy as well
Thanks for the info! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Yup. Like I thought. Thanks 😊
Is that lister?
This is what Lister is up to these days? Did they have Airtags on Red Dwarf?

Maybe it depends on who's willing to pay to be included.
Many thanks

Chipolo One Point which uses the Find my Android network is being released this July!
😮LETS GOOO ANDROID!!!! 🤯
Idk what happened with your AirTag but it has a loud sound, check the settings and try again…
Big up from Scotland gadget show
Google, take notice. Plenty androids out there
I wonder why you didn't test the chipolo on the find my Apple network
Looking at Atuvos tracker too
My Chipolo stops connecting after 60 meter
What about Samsung smart tag. They are also great
The other two require you to constantly "refresh" its location...
Why is it all of your reviews seem to miss out one of the big players, making these pointless. Where is the samsung tag?
Fit a chippolo or even an apple air tag Bluetooth chip before take off …

Precision finding only starts working at around 4-5m, right?

Chipolo sripolo where is samsnung tag ?

The tile at least offers this feature but it's behind a £3 a month subscription
...and the winner is: Samsung smart tag2 :)

Bluetooth range? That's only part of their abilities. Apple uses iPhones around it to provide locations, so bluetooth range is rather pointless.
So if someone passes your airtag and when it’s out of Bluetooth range then the air tag will lock onto other phones so you can find your lost item and let you know where it is?
So disappointing both Tile and Apple
Air tags are best. Tiles are fine in you in the and room.
