  • Horry County real estate property taxes are going up. If you own a property in Horry County, you most likely received a notice recently from the county assessor's office. The assessor's office determines the assessed value of your property, which effects how much you pay in taxes.
In this video, I explain what to look for in the notice, particularly the taxable value and market value, and how to compare them to previous values. If the new taxable value doesn't seem reasonable to you, you might want to contest it. You have 90 days from the notice date to appeal. I also provide guidance on how to contest the value and include a link to the county's online form for appeals.
If you need help determining the value of your home or have any questions, please reach out to me. I can be reached at (843) 360-2145 or asafa@c21harrelson.com. My website is www.abesafa.com
HERE IS THE LINK TO APPEAL THE VALUE: www.horrycount...
    Then click on Property appeal.

Yes, taxes have increased, all the more reason that prospective home buyers need to think "outside the box" and realize just how smart a MH purchase is.
North Myrtle has some wonderful, waterfront communities where people just may be able to buy a small home larger than a higher priced condo, for LESS than $125,000! That is an AMAZING price, especially if you come from up North!
Best part: NO taxes paid on the land!! Quite frankly, Zillow shouldn't have ANY inventory in this price range in North Myrtle, and the Realtors should be aggressively marketing these homes to the condo buyer sector!
