Honestly never shout at any animal :(( they all get so weird, plus they all have the mentality of a toddler in my eyes.. they’re just babies. No child should be yelled at, animals are like children
This is wrong though. Many birds don't even recognize shouting as something bad and will find it fun instead, that's why it's notorious that shouting at birds doesn't work and you should instead reward positive behavior. You should not be aggressive toward a bird, and if you see that shouting stresses them out then you should stop, but many birds won't even recognize it as bad and will instead see it as a fun burst of energy. They're not dogs or cats. They pluck when they are bored, stressed out, or not receiving enough attention. Playful shouting counts as attention.
Yeah, depression in animals is really bad, since suicide can occur and usually in horrible wars, birds rip themselves appart, other animals will claw away until they bleed to death or bite, they put their bodies in positions that can suffocate them, its all horrible, some drown themselves, its especially likely in social animals in which you need to get two of so that they have a friend and dont get depressed and lonely, like hamsters, bunnies, ferrets, foxes, different types of dogs and birds, and many other things, separation anxiety is also an issue in which you need to be around them at all times or else they can panic and go into an anxiety frenzy of sorts, this can happen in all animals usually in ones you get from the pound or shelters since no one usually actually plays with them except for visitors coming to pick an animal, so when you get one from there and give it all that love and playfulness they missed out on for such a long time it makes them dangerously emotionally dependant on you. Mental illness comes in all sorts of animals, even fish who will band their bodies on the walls of their tank and snakes, who will refuse to eat and starve themselves to death. Its really baaaad. Also bonus everyone, dont pet/scratch your birds head, back, wings, or chest, their beaks are ok and just let them sorta perch on you because petting them on those spots can seriously sexually frustrate them and mess with their hormones, do dont do those.
