- Volkswagen T-Roc Upgraded With The Genuine VW Electric Tailgate Retrofit For Power Open & Close. Original Controls & Remote KeyFob
Today's upgrade was to help out a Main Dealer. A customer purchased a brand new VW T-Roc but was unable to close the tailgate / boot when open due to a shoulder issue so it needed to be upgraded.
In this video we show the before and after of the retrofit. As part of the installation all new Power Struts, Soft Close Latching, Motors, Control Modules, Buttons and Wiring were installed. Once completed it's exactly like factory.
This retrofit is suitable for the following VW Vehicles:
✔️ Arteon (3H)
✔️ Passat (B7)
✔️ Passat (B8)
✔️ Sharan (7N)
✔️ Tiguan (AD1)
✔️ Tiguan Allspace (BW2)
✔️ Touareg (CR)
✔️ Touran (5T)
✔️ T-Roc (A11)
There are also systems available for the Audi, SEAT and Skoda Range which work similarly to this video.

Excellent stuff there guys. I'm looking to purchase a new VW Arteon SEL R-Line but doesn't come with the automated close feature of the hatchback so I'm hopeful this can be done on the new car when I get it, it will be cheaper than spending an extra $4K on the next trim up.

where do you get the parts from? In America, would love to add to my Tiguan.
Can you please publish the parts list for this? I live in Canada and have a 2019 Golf Sportwagen (Estate) and even if the option was never available from the factory, the sheer fact that it’s on the MQB platform should make it possible.

How much to retro fit a mk5 Mondeo 180 Titanium Estate
I have the same this T roc and I have already Electric Tailgate. I can open it from remote but I can not close it. I have to press the buttome to close it. Would you please tell me how can I program it.
It can’t be programmed on every vehicle unfortunately. Some can and some can’t. Majority can’t in which case you will need to fit a module to allow for this function.

Electric Tailgate was never a factory option on this vehicle I'm afraid.
Nice job, but you don’t say what the cost is. I have noticed this omission on other jobs I have seen you do, please give us a price even if you say it’s around £whenever.
It’s very difficult to just give a price on a lot of the work we do. This is all due to compatibility and what parts are required and times involved.
It’s not professional to just drop a price when it could be higher or lower. We’d rather research, check and then quote.
Advanced In-Car Technologies yes you did one on reverse camera on a t-roc . Got a quote for £500 thought not too bad then found out the original was £179 but others wanted £1200 so just did not bother in the end.

I’m afraid not! Sorry :(
I don't know if anyone done it yet, but MK7 is based on MQB platform and it shares a lot of parts with Skoda Octavia 3 (5E), Seat Leon (5F), Audi A3 (8V). There's an electric tailgate option for Octavia (and a kit available to retrofit), so I can only hope that: electronic is compatible; electric struts are the same size and would fit on a MK7.
I know that in the drivers door module there's an "tailgate button" option in coding. Most likely BCM is also ready for this option.
