A lot of you guys have asked me through comments of many videos about perches in your parrot's cage, and whether they are safe or not.
I haven't seen a video about this topic so I decided to create one, instead of us all just visiting forums to check on that.
This entire list isn't just for budgies but for all birds.
Make sure to choose perches without splinters or sharp points or textures that could hurt your birds.

I would be careful with a bamboo perch that I’m absolutely sure it’s thick enough to hold the birds weight. Bamboo is known for particularly dangerous splinters.
Can you advise a good way to clean bamboo for making a playpen?

Hi i kind of have a problem, i am making toys for my budgie and i wanted to use the small wood pieces but idk if they are safe. The wood is light brown/skin color that has few small brown lines and when i made a smal hole it was kind of soft. The wood pieces are from a canvas for painting, and i have a lot of them, and idk if they are safe.
Hello - I see that you have a pothos plant in the background which is considered toxic to these parrots. I'm getting my budgie in the following week and my room is decorated with pothos as long as 15 feet long. Have you had any bad experiences as far as your bird's health is concerned?

Has anyone heard of pepper wood perches? I received some as a bundle on Amazon, but I can't find anything about them being safe for my budgies. The wood smelled very earthy, woodsy, I washed it with water and it helped a bit with the smell, but I'm still hesitant to use them in my bird cage. Help please!

Hey, this is what I found on Google
Cedar occasionally appears on safe lists. If Cedar is to be used, Red cedar should be avoided for the same reasons as redwood. Yellow and Sitka Cedar may be safe though. Mediterranean Laurel is safe.

@@3stars359 oh yes I searched on google some people think that neem is toxic and some people think that neem is very good for health.
Then I was little confused 🤷♀️.then I saw some video they were giving advantages of neem and my dad also said that neem is the safest tree they can never harm 🦅 budgies or any bird.

@@ryuuuie you need to cut it to the size you need and then you have a couple of options.
1. To squeeze the bars on the tip of the perch from both sides
2. Use rope or zip ties

Hey, if your budgie shows any signs of vomiting/dirreah or other unusual things, you should take it to the vet, if not, it's still better to take it to the vet if you have the option as Oleander is a very toxic tree, even for humans.
