    *Smart Jack- 1:47
    *Lithium bat 3:20
    *Propane 4:22 there is no gauge!... 38-40 lbs = 1 5 gallon tank (fill up/don’t exchange... it’s cheaper!)

    *Front end through storage 7:00 (we declined the slider option for now)

    *Care free awning on slide out 21:05 (this is an option, but really a must!)

    *Back up camera 22:48 (this is an option but again, also a MUST!)
    *Operating slide out 23:59
    *Black tank/Gray tank outlets 25:05 (we personally empty black first, then gray, then flush to get all the extra stink out!)
    *Black tank flush 25:35 (not the greatest location and difficult to connect)
    *Tank discussion 26:45 (tell us how you conserve water and waste with such small holding tanks... we really could use some tips)
    *Moving to interior 27:36
    *Accessing front end storage from the inside 29:15 (we wish this had a larger access!)
    *RV front door 30:44 (we love the window... we really don’t love that it can’t be shaded in any way... see at the end of the video what we did to resolve this issue!)

    *Vent windows but keep them locked 34:09
    *Adjustable reading/night lights 35:00

    We have lived on a sailboat for years, often months away from fresh water. We learned/invented some water-saving methods. 1. Use less soap. 2. Use a collapsible basin smaller than your sink to wash dishes - you will \use less water. For rinsing, fill a liquid squirt bottle with fresh water and use sparingly. 3. For showering, get a showerhead with an on/off switch, so you can turn off the water while lathering up, and just use the shower for rinsing. (Uses less than 1 minute of water per person.) 4. Buy a few solar showers for rinsing doggies outside.
    We could live on 75 gallons of fresh water for 6 weeks. (Of course, we had salt water toilet flushing.) You can do it!

    Awesome video! I'm planning to buy my first RV within the next few months and this is the one. (I have Chevrolet Trax and can pull a maximum of 3500 lbs. I'm still studying up on that!)
    My 8 small dogs and I will be living in it full time so I very much appreciate your detailed walk-through! (I've downloaded it for future reference!)
    So much still to learn but my new, adopted UA-cam family is a great teacher!
    Thank you!

      We travel with our big chocolate lab and small shih tzu mix dog. We will admit that once there is a dog bed on the floor for the big dog and a small crate for the pup (we don't quite trust her out of it yet), there isn't much walking space, and we have to climb over them. When doing your research, make sure you calculate the dry weight of the trailer and also to account for anything you add to the RV as extra weight; we found it adds up quickly! Happy adventuring!

      @@AdventuresofFlashandMookie All 9 of us currently sleep in a twin bed...actually only half of me gets some mattress. The queen size will be a luxury! I am trying to officially retire so no crates-yay! I have watched so many videos on RV-ing I had to stop til I saw y'all. As a hands-on person I'm thinking I'll just have to jump in feet first and learn as a I go along...having knowledge before hand will definitely help!

    THNAK YOU for taking the time! Try this - locktite on the screws, and an weather durable piece of rubber/foam attached to the door with doublestick tape to soften the impact with the awning.

    • @AdventuresofFlashandMookie
      @AdventuresofFlashandMookie  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the tip! We bought some locktite after hearing this works, but haven't used it yet! Our next trip is planned the first week of April, so we'll definitely be applying before we travel. We have yet to fix the door banging into the awning, but plan to take care of that too!

    Just a thought...I would add two solar shower bags to have a longer shower. They heat up fairly quickly so two people could share the bags if they are already living together. You guys are so entertaining because you are authentic. You remind of my own family members...Great Show!!!!

    Also we have “go power” solar on the side solar panels and it really helps when boondocking. You can park in the shade and have the panels in the sun.

      It is a great use of space. We have played with the Truma combi system more since owning the camper, and have found the boost mode to be very efficient in heating up the water fairly quickly. While it's not "instant," it does the job. Thanks for watching and happy adventuring!

    Nice Presentation! I own a Lance 1685, so I relate to a lot of what you have discussed.
    One thing that I don't remember if you mentioned............check the torque of the wheel lug nuts. I like to check them before each trip, more often if the wheels have been off. As the aluminum wheels center and seat while you drive I have noticed it is necessary to retorque the lug nuts as the manufacturer states as I have found they can and do loosen.
    Enjoy your new trailer!

      YES! Thanks for watching. I don't think we mentioned it in this video, but we have some footage for an upcoming video reminding everyone to check tire pressure as well as the torque of the lug nuts. Definitely a must for us before every road trip!

    Great in depth video, congrats on your new trailer! We love Lance...such a quality product. Question: It looks like with the slide in (travel mode), you don’t have access to the bathroom. Is this an issue?

    • @AdventuresofFlashandMookie
      @AdventuresofFlashandMookie  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you! You are correct. With the slide in for travel, you cannot get to the bathroom. But with our battery, it is zero problem to pull over or into a gas station or parking lot, slide out the slide just enough, and utilize whatever we need to within the trailer.

    The door is not supposed to touch the awning and if it does its because the awning is not adjusted correctly, you need to adjust it with a 5 mm allen wrench. Contact your dealer for additional info.

      @AdventuresofFlashandMookie  Рік тому

      Thanks for the info. We have since traded in our 1575 for a larger model, and the door does not touch the awning. We noticed too, that they did angle the awning slightly to one side when installing it to allow for water run off.

My wife & I are also interested in 1575 Lance & it was nice to know how others like you who have had it think about it. We would really appreciate it if would help us with some of the questions we have.
    1. what is the best way to get one pricewise, RV shows or direct order? Thank you for your time in advance.

    • @AdventuresofFlashandMookie
      @AdventuresofFlashandMookie  3 роки тому

      That's a great question... we've been to RV shows before, and have noted that they do offer significant discounts. When we were ready to buy, though, we researched RV's online (COVID was among us), decided what we thought would be best for us (never saw the Lance 1575 in person), and then direct ordered through a local RV dealership. There were incentives and discounts offered to us at that time. What we would recommend is decide on your RV budget, and then go from there regardless of where you decide to purchase.

    Hi Folks, thanks for the detailed overview. I've been thinking about getting this trailer.
    1. Loctite for the screw threads - one time and you're done.
    2. You can use your A/C with a generator (if you don't mind a little noise - though you may disturb neighbors).
    3. With a portable water purifying system, you can take water from lakes, streams, ponds, etc.
    (not from mining runoff though). And rig up your gutters to capture rainwater in a collapsible, portable container.
    Then purify and add to your onboard tank. Thanks again, Jim Leute

      Thanks for the tip! We almost always carry an extra tank with us as a just in case. Most of our appliances are ran on shore power, however, we use the propane always for our Blackstone griddle. We are loving learning the in's and out's so that one day, we can make longer trips, and be able to sustain at least overnight if needed without electric hook up. Thanks for watching and happy adventuring!

    • @AdventuresofFlashandMookie
      @AdventuresofFlashandMookie  3 роки тому

      Now that you've mentioned this, we looked them up on Amazon, and this is a great tip! We thought perhaps the RV's had a shade already built in. It was a win/win, we guess, to have our mom come into town to make one for us. It probably cost about the same.

    • @AdventuresofFlashandMookie
      @AdventuresofFlashandMookie  3 роки тому

      Yes! Thanks to Mom!! To be honest, we don't recall the cost of each added option, but we do know different dealerships will offer different incentives. Even with our options added, we did not pay MSRP for this travel trailer. Our biggest factor in determining travel trailer was weight. This particular Lance fit our needs at the time, however, we are already dreaming of something a little larger, like the Lance 2445 or an Airstream.

    Thanks for doing such a detailed video! What a great little trailer! Question: What is the depth of the dinette? We're trying to figure out if our two small children (3 and 5) could sleep on the side benches without putting it into bed form. Obviously they'll eventually grow... but just curious. They need separation at this age. LOL

    • @AdventuresofFlashandMookie
      @AdventuresofFlashandMookie  3 роки тому

      We totally understand! We will have to measure the depth the next time we are at the RV; we would say for a 3 year old, it would probably work, but the 5 year old may hang off the end depending on their height. The back bench is obviously the longest, and one of us will often sit in the corner with our feet up on the bench to watch TV from the dinette area.

      The Schwintek slide recommends fully extending the slide or fully retracting the slide when operating. The manual does not indicate what could happen if you don't, however, other RV forums have stated it could affect the slide track, etc. I would recommend researching more information on the Swchintek slide rooms. We, at times, did not fully extend or retract for your exact same reasons and never had a problem.

    Ahhooorah! Once...Always... GREAT video. Oh, you can get replacement windows for that front door. They are clear but have a similar shade to your windows as a blackout.
    My wife wants a travel trailer for her Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk that has the six cylinder with the trailer package. We have a 28 footer with slide trailer and truck but she wants a weekender and has her own money so... It would sure be a lot fewer logistics and we can get more places here in Montana with this. I heard you can flip the axle on this to get a few inches more height. I did that once on a 22 footer.
    Anyway, she has her Cherokee limits for payload (1000 lbs/surpisingly good) and weight 4500 lbs towing, AND she has her "requirements" and hates single aisle units with the dogs having to back up to move and most important is a "DRY" bath. This is about the ONLY unit I have found that meets her minimum requirements and the Cherokee's weight limits. IMHO, this is the best use of space I have ever seen in a travel trailer. It packs a lot in a small space and Lance's are made well also. A dealer that replaces a fridge in a few days? You are lucky. She runs through water like a fish (get it) so that will be an issue, but I warned her...
    Thanks for a great and certainly in depth vid on this unit. Very good hitting all of her points for sure. Good decision on the weight distribution hitch. People do NOT realize how they can reduce stress on a driver because ONCE the trailer attempts to drive the vehicle like with a wind gust, the driver ever after has to up their level of awareness when driving and it will wear on you after a long day driving. I had to get a bigger truck to address that with the big trailer. We do long trips as I'm retired and she is partially. But, we have a lot of "secret" places here in MT that the big trailer can't get to and this would for weekends, three days trips.
    Once recommendation for you is to get the smallest portable gray tank (GET RHINO ONLY/Orange and black ones) and that will extend your time out as it will drain two thirds of your gray water and still be manageable by two people. They can also store (empty) on the back of the trailer with an adaptation. Gray water is always the weak point in trailer water systems. But not having a truck could be an issue, but the RHINO ones are very well designed (As in do not leak), can even tow at slow speeds on the hitch of your car to get to a close dump station in an RV park or go in the back of an SUV if a bit further to dump. GRAY WATER ONLY. I've been camping my whole life.

    Awesome video!! We also made a velcro/cloth cover for our door window, but it has an foil insulation cloth in the center, since we camp in thr interior west where the temperature swings 30 degrees daily. We use a Dollar Tree plastic bowl in our sink to conserve water and put the rinse water in a home depot bucket for putting out our campfire, since we usually have no hookups. We have extra storage space by putting two flexible laundry baskets from Walmart in the shower. It only takes a moment to move for showering. I recommend waxing the trailer twice a yera with New Finish. Out trailer looks like new and is stored in the desert sun. I also reccomend using 303 rubber seal protectant on all the window and hatch weather seals. We had several leak problens on the roof skylights, vents and windows, so check after ir rains and inspect the roof and windows yearly. Caulking the winows with flexible caulk is easy. Check below winow at bed for moisture after the rain. We had black mold grow under bed after an undetected winow leak. Lance is made an hour and a half away, so at least we did not pay to ship a matress.

If you add in a couple of tanks worth of fluids plus a modest amount of cargo, you exceed the 1575's 3,700 pound GVWR quickly. We found there were many things that we had taken with us that we found we didn't use or didn't need, so we slimmed down the next time around and all trips thereafter. As far as tanks of fluid goes, we usually head out with about 2/3 full of fresh water and empty gray and black tanks. We have found that we still exceed our weight limit by about 180 lbs. even in our slimmed down RV! In the grand scheme of things, this isn't all that bad. On that note, we would only utilize this feature if we were present in or around the RV. God help the person who tried to get in that way while we were there. We did, one time only, utilize this feature when we were in a heavily trafficked area, and we weren't around. Hi! Unfortunately, the slide has to go out in this model to get to the bathroom. It has not really been an inconvenience for us, though. We stop in places where we can slide it out, do what we need to do, and slide it back in.

      We did start turning water off while lathering and washing, and turn it back on to quickly rinse.

    A couple hooks a curtain rod and some blackout curtains across that door window will solve your to much light coming through issue. Not sure your husband realizes how many times he interrupts you otherwise a good review.

      Unfortunately the screen door is too snug against the trailer door for any kind of hooks or rod, but if you fast forward to the end of the video, you can see our innovative window cover. Flash and Mookie are both “interactive” communicators. 😂 We’ll try to work on that!

    Can you get to the bathroom with the slide in?

      Unfortunately, you cannot, but that isn't a problem for us at all. We put the slide out when we stop for gas or when we stop to make food, etc, and use the bathroom at those times. If necessary, you could pretty much pull over anywhere that is safe to put the slide out.
