  • We took a trip down to Bristol to chat to Emily ahead of the launch of her new book, Where There's a Will. Emily was fantastically open to all the questions we fired at her, including talking about the Transcontinental, her days as a courier, mental health, and how the death of Mike Hall impacted her and her life on the bike.
Thank you so much to Emily for letting us invade her home, and to Ben Davies who we also interviewed for a different episode and is featured in this episode.

And we definitely have a plan for a mental health episode in future - we might have to talk to you for it, if you’re up for it?!

Great interview - lots to think about!
Apart from that obvious feeling of confidence cycling gives me, it IS kind of a drug. My escape from the world when I'm out on my bike, whether it's just a short ride down to the mill, or an all day ride going 'nowhere and everywhere', simply makes me capable of dealing with all the other aspects of my life.
My 'invisible peleton' though, is a different kind of feeling - where especially one persons lack of support and confidence in me, makes me just keep on going, determined to show that I am more than that! That I can do anything I want - and be good at it!
When it's just me and the bike, I feel at home.
Through cycling I've met a lot of inspiring and amazing people - cycling with Kajsa in 2016 was definitely contributing to the way I now approach life, keeping my dreams alive instead of burying them!
Love your episodes Jane and Kajsa, makes me giggle each and every time :)

It's wonderful. Emily’s superpower seems to be writing incredibly intense purple passages and getting away with it 😍
