    Love this piece! The first movement is also great. It's definitely better as a simple quartet though; the full chamber orchestra is muddying it a bit.

    Borodin dedicated this quartet to his wife. Especially this movement, that music were the memories about their first acquaintance and meetings in Europe.

      In this quartet, the first violin represents his wife, and the cello (which was his main instrument) represents himself.

    This melody was the basis for a famous song in the 40's, I believe. "This is my beloved" or something,
