I live in Jacksonville. Speaking from experience. I've been to a lot of jaguars games and events at the stadium. Sitting in that sun is brutal. It is very hot. Having that roof will be awesome. Jacksonville, get ready for a lot of events to come to Jacksonville. Wwe's WrestleMania, super bowl, monster jam, (Well monster jam already comes to Jacksonville every year anyway), and plenty more
@@brandensimmons653 I do agree since AEW is based in Jacksonville, but I also disagree because WrestleMania is wwe's biggest event of the year. The amount of people that would come to a WrestleMania is huge no matter where it is. Think about it. WrestleMania this year was in the Philadelphia Eagles stadium. We all know how cold it was. People will show up no matter where WrestleMania is located
I'm a dolphins fan living in Miami and I'm super hyped for this....go Jaguars 🐆 I will always root for Tampa and Jacksonville. But not against my dolphins..lol I love hardrock stadium but definitely jealous of this renovation. Good job and good luck 👍
The outside entertainment is going to remind us all and bring us back to the Jacksonville landing strip mall! That would be awesome good times cant wait !
What alot of people don't know about JAXs stadium is that the roof will be highly advanced; it will be made from Viewscape (by Madico). Viewscape is considered to be transparent and four times stronger than ETFE, which is translucent like the roofs of current modern stadiums (SoFi, US Bank and Allegiant)
They need to build some hotels. I've been there for a couple UFC fights and there aren't enough. I heard that's why they didn't get another super bowl too.
A four seasons has already been approved. But you’re correct, there are no nice hotels here. None….So I’m sure more are planned. I know a couple of the downtown hotels are being renovated, but they need more rooms period.
They need to fix the downtown area The homeless in that area is wild and alot of abandoned buildings. We moved up here 2 years ago and I was stunned at how many buildings were rundown in the dt area
@@thenameisyosh i agree with you there's a lot of empty office space area in downtown they need to turn those area into a outdoor shopping mall like Denver has their downtown area.
I hope they are smart, and run the Jacksonville Skyway monorail to the new stadium, I was there long time ago to see the Titans play them, this new stadium is going to be impressive. Just staying downtown was a long walk.
I now live in Jacksonville, but I worked at that church pictured at 10:49 of the video in Chicago. My worlds were completely blown. Where did you find that picture??
I see the small stadium size as being a huge hindrance on the teams in the future. Is the NFL trying to play on their cost needs and just emphasize hype?
I am AGAINST every team having a super MEGA Stadium but .... I am not as against this one ... I think that stadium does need an upgrade. ... issue is when it's (any team) it gets to a point where ONLY the mega-rich can avoid to go to games in these mega-stadiums
I was born in Jax. The city’s downtown has lackluster amenities for a SuperBowl crowd. It was a tragedy in 2004. Honestly, Jacksonville is pretty lame and I live in New Orleans as a bartender whereas everything is centered downtown. This renovation is also being fueled by the city’s $$. Instead of helping house the many homeless in downtown Jax (why many ppl complain on why they don’t go downtown), the city would rathef give the Jaguars tax breaks and money, despite the team’s losing record and the Jags never being in the Super Bowl!!!
I would say in my opinion that in 1995 the Jaguars should have been in San Antonio, but I understand they couldn’t because of Jerry Jones smh. I really wish that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved here in 1995 instead.
I think every states that need renovates or build a stadium for NFL I fully supports it . I really don’t care if the Gator Bowl gets rebuilt. What I do care about is that the Tax Money I pay, will be used for something I will never use. The $1.4 billion needs to be used on roads! Let the sports fans and the team owner pay for the renovations out of their pockets!
I hate to be the 'Debby Downer' on all this. But I lived in Jacksonville and you know what they need more than a 1.4B upgrade to the stadium? A better school system with better paid teachers. A downtown revitalization. Better public transportation. Better health care. You all can rave about this new makeover - but I consider it a enormous waste of money (as most pro stadiums are) when the City could better spend that money on becoming a better CITY. (and btw, will someone teach this guy how to say Jaguars - please !!!)
I’m from Jacksonville and lived here off and on my entire life. A lot of things have changed but a lot of things have not. As far as what the region NEEDS, I wouldn’t say that this is it for that price tag. Probably 90% of the Jacksonville population can’t even afford to go to a Jags game. Let someone else pay for it. It’s nice! But not needed. Our mayor is a total flake btw. She loves the money.
All this money for a stadium upgrade, which we have already foot the bill for previous other renovations to include a pool and "the largest screens ever" but the crime is running rampant and out of control along with the homeless and you can't get JSO to pick up the phone.... but hey, let's make sure football fans are in the shade... smh
