I’ve been trying to get a better box so the fox is better I’ve heard that too but it’s just the cubes that you have to work with… it limits your subwoofers so much I’m trying to figure this out but I’m not sure if I should just buy anything it gets a tad bit expensive I’ve already got thousands invested… it’s sounds great in the cab but it’s just not performing it’s maximum potential.. with the equipment I’ve got I should be shaking the ground dude
thanks for the vid! hard to find anything on youtube for the atrend vented 10 box. the model number for it is very similar to the sealed box, which I currently have, but the footprint is remarkably different. looking forward to getting mine installed. how does the single vented 10 sound compared to the single sealed 10 that you reviewed in your first video?
I think the sealed version had a little bit better quality and was able to hit lower tones better. The vented one hits a little harder. All depends on the sub too. If you have trouble fitting the vented you might need to get a few large washers and raise the seat up a little.

I was hoping the vent and more volume would result in a deeper note than my sealed box. I hope i can tune it to be a clean hit if it does hit harder. some of my old vented and ported boxes were sorta sloppy
If you have the 10 speaker with sub alpine system what sub do you recommend to swap out the stock sub? Also this will stay on the stock amp and stock system. Would you also recommend stuffing the stock box with the poly fill? Crutchfield recommended a focal p 20 fse flax evo series shallow mount 8". But that was with an upgraded Rockford amp which means I have to buy a bunch of other stuff to bypass the alpine system.
If you're not upgrading the amplifier, I would line the factory enclosure with sound deadening and polyfill and sound deaden the truck. Something like this ua-cam.com/video/IHUmEEM9ze4/v-deo.html

I had this sub, amp and power cap in my Silverado in a different box and it hit very hard. This one doesn’t hit no where near as hard and I noticed my sub gets hit very quickly and has a funky smell so I believe it is just to small volume for this sub. I could use some help on this one because I don’t want to hurt my sub or void the warranty

I just wish someone would commercially sell a box for these trucks that would allow you to maintain the fold flat floor. I am going to have to build my own out of glass I guess. There is more than enough room to do two shallow 10's and keep the fold flat flooring. I just want two 8's. I am not all about the boom boom. Just nice tight bass and quality for rock and metal.

Ricky Martinez if your talking in this application where air space is extremely constrained, smaller is better. like i said, i have to massive audio 6.5 on a rockford 500w amp. for what it is, it is amazing. if you just want a little bump behind you and are not going for spl, smaller is definitely better for sound quality.

I have a 2015 ram quad cab with the upgraded Alpine junk stereo, I pulled the Alpine sub and ran signal wires from the rear door speakers to an LC2i lock and it sounds pretty good, bassworx ram10 box (I sprayed leak seal coating in the box, polyfill, and used one sided tape to seal the subs), Audiomobile GT2110 subs, and a Pulse Audio 1500 RMS 2ohm amp, it pounds
Almost any factory system can be run with aftermarket subs off the speaker wires using line out converters. Great if you want to keep the rest of the system stock.
You can do a half enclosure on the passenger side and maintain the other half. Otherwise you'll have to go custom if you want that cargo tray. It can be done.
I was thinking the same thing and the only way I believe to be able to keep your cargo bench is going under seat subwoofers. Won’t get the same power from one of these subwoofers but an upgrade. Me personally thanks to this video I might just do one woofer on the passenger side and keep the other.
If you want quality, a JL W1 (needs very little air space) or if you want it to hit harder the Alpine S Series. Rams don't have much air space to work with, so more effiecient subs are the way to go.
Honestly man, when working with a small airspace upward firing sub box you lose a lot of sound quality. It’s hard to get the bass you want out of these boxes. I know that a lot of people really like Fox Acoustics LLC so if you’re still trying to get better bass I’d try their Dodge Ram fox box
Fly Maub Custom sounds the best to me. Or go JL Audio Stealth enclosure comes with a sub or Atrend's fiberglass enclosure if you want to do prefab and load another sub.
That I'm not sure. It will have to be a model with a smaller basket. It's best to contact Atrend directly. We don't carry Rockford at my shop so I'm not sure.
MrRanvic See if JL Audio makes anything from their StealthBox line up. Or you could do a simple custom wood box that goes over the drivetrain tunnel in the middle. There's no room under the rear seats in those truck from what I remember.

Ya for those subs, going custom is the best choice for fitment and audio quality. You don't have to go crazy, but we do a fair share of Rams at the shop and for subs that size it's the way to go.

The bigger the woofer magnet does not mean better sound. It only means you have to buy a bigger amp to move them, which means your just wasting money. A 8 ohms sub will take less power to move but, the quality bass that your looking for will blow you away . hard thumping ,back pounding, bass that will rattle your teeth.
I have 2 boss 4ohm dvc 12' i hooked a folsgate r1200-1d to them at 1ohm for max power but cant turn amp up speakers sound distorted and pop and crack like its to much power but subs says rated for 2300w a piece i dont belive bc they sound ready to blow do i meed new subs or am i hooked up wrong
Fox acoustics is the best for these trucks. Mine rocks with 2 type R’s, makes the mirrors dance and the roof bow! 2017 Ram 3500 is the truck I have.

I have that same ported box for my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. I am looking at JL W3 but also looking at the W6. Will the W6 working it takes 2 12"
W6 might not fit. The W3 is a more efficient sub.

Items like that are awesome value. Will hit better than a factory setup but will have limitations with the plastic enclosure and smaller amplifier.

Turn down the gain a little and try stuffing the box with polyfill and sound deaden the inside of the box.

Wouldn’t it be better to put a subwoofer that matches the air space in the enclose instead of putting the biggest woofer that fits?
Go big or go home! But yes you're right. You can compensate by adding polyfill to make the enclosure "bigger" up to 25% roughly.
A 10inch woofer will sound better than a 12 without enough air space.

Lack of knowledge, you have to raise the back seat 5/8 of an inch for proper clearance of the larger box.
Shouldn't have to on a prefab box built for standard subs. I build custom enclosures for 2002-2018 Rams regularly.
