Let's only talk about damage Values, and not his Zoning, mixups etc .
he was nerfed at launch, he is historically speaking on of the fastest mk characters, he is slo mo in mk1
@@Synical02they also messed up his hit box when doing combos on your opponents making it harder to connect some moves and the timing being a bit more strict now.
So yeah it’s not just a damage nerf, overall them nerfing Reptile was completely unnecessary compared to other characters on the roster.
@synical What mixup? He is bottom 5 still, I promise you. Gaps and no mix and at high levels don't do anything and gets flawless punished. Made it to Elder God every season not with reptile and its night/day. Reptile is sooooo punishable, Cyrax helps.

Yeah for a couple reasons:
1. You can't ban Cyrax outright because some players have been training with him before the update
2. The coders at NetherRealm are not that good tbh. They are slow to make changes because in the past they broke the game with an update xD

@IbukiClean he got a lot of hate, but it doesn't mean he wasn't overall loved. But to be honest, every tip 3 players in the FGC for different games get hate from those below. The more mainstream the game, the more that hate gets noticed.
JWong got most of his hate prior to UA-cam videos and Twitch broad asted big competitions.
But I promise you go look at the tip 3 players of Tekken, SF, MK, DBZ, and more. You will find people hating hands down. There is a while group of people hating the chilain twins, Soo-hoon and Sang get hate, it just happens.
No one understands cause they aren't LTG or 6ARAKIN where it is easy to pin point why. We all speculate with silly statements like

I find it very easy to believe it was an accident. Surely if you work at NRS you can't enter tournaments, that would be a conflict of interest. So the patches aren't gonna be tested by top-level players. Of course they miss stuff.
So the timing may seem suspicious but that's actually proof that they didn't do it because of him.
Updates and patches like this have to go through a lot of people and can take weeks even months to approve and go through. It requires play testing, coding, confirmation and permission from higher-ups, bug fixing, it's not something they can have up in a couple days. Now I understand that especially with popular fighting games these patches come out a little more quickly but that's because they're working on them basically 24/7.

His popularity as a pro player may be deserved but he does not deserve any respect due to any issues he causes like this one and mainly for the fact he shows up to
a game awards a few years ago and rather than being humble and accepting of all who celebrated his achievements, he turned his speech there into a political one.

The fact that these are kameo players and not playable show how much of a joke and shit show this game is. Technology on systems can hold a load of players but since these people are greedy we lose out on an even more awesomeness of a game. Just my opinion as an old head who has seeing gaming become just a money grab when they should focus on fun

Sonicfox has been winning most MK1 tournaments so far. Not sure what you mean by “Hasn’t won in years” plus the devs openly said the Cyrax buff was an accident and they are reverting it. If Sonic could change the game like that, then he would just do it privately on the DMs so that nobody would notice. Plus he would have used Cyrax at Final Kombat but was one of the only players not using him at all. So I do not believe he caused the buffs. At least, that makes the most sense.

More views = more money; with that being said, I do believe NRS made the changes to benefit sonic to some extent. They are aware that this man is heavily popular in the community, so by buffing cyrax it will result in “heated” matches between the pros. Therefore, bringing more viewers. Also, most of these pro players are big cry babies and are always complaining about nerfs/buffs/etc.. in the past I’ve seen videos of other pros complaining and coincidently, buffs/nerfs happen weeks later. It can’t be a coincidence…
Cryax helps Smoke,Reptile,Sub, Scopion, Havik ect. Most of the characters with the most gaps and lower tier. Keep the Cyrax maybe less chip. In my opinion.

I wouldn’t mind Cyrax staying the way he is now even if it’s a mistake however it should deal less chip damage and have 1 more frame of start up. We have plenty of options for kameo partners but a lot of them need to be buffed and some, like Khameleon and Janet, need to be nerfed. I also think a majority of the base roster should have 1 or 2 new moves to get more players interested, how can you call Reiko a grappler if he has less command grabs than Geras or Reptile a tricky player when Smoke has more mix up options?
