I just adore your videos. They are my comfort entertainment. You was the first cos-tuber I ever started watching. I also use your videos to figure out how much sewing knowledge I have gained over time. When I first started watching I understood very little but I kept watching because....pretty pictures. 😊 However I am happy to report that after a few years watching you and others, I now understand most of what you are talking about. Even if I have never put my theoretical knowledge into physical practices. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Matching period pieces to your hair is a style move I never thought I needed. This is so pretty. Love the new hair color, it's so flattering, but I will miss the green.
Something about the color choice and the bows on this dress remind me of the dress that Cinderella originally wanted to wear to the ball before her stepsisters destroyed it.
"[...] and knowing me, probably make a matching hat." Me, a hat lover still in the beret-fedora-boater-hat-gateway-stage of hat-wearing: Yessss, this is some quality content right here.
Who ever thought I’d need a “boning roll” and even be jealous of yours … “nice and full” and even contemplate making my own. How did I make it to 67years of age as a sewer and haven’t needed to do boning in any garment I’ve made. Only ever noticed you use it and mastered it I might add, such an amazing young designer you are dear girl! If you ever feel the urge to show us how you made your boning roll …. Please do. Thank you so much for all you do and the amazing creative crazy that you are with your sewing. Kind regards and much support as a subscriber from the beginning, from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺.
If you ever want to do more boning there are other sewing UA-camrs who also make period fashions (one young seamstress actually made a historically accurate Edwardian dress for Mary Poppins day out dress)
I feel the difficulty of this bulky gathered skirt! I just finished my 1890's walking skirt. I made the thing out of cotton flannel and fully lined it with cotton sateen. It's so gorgeous, but oh my heck getting the gathering/pleating mostly symmetrical mess of a situation done was a chore and my fingers were so sore at the end!
Looove your new hair color - so so pretty. Pink is definitely my favorite color, the strong deep pinks, like that gorgeous silk taffeta. I love this latest project - good for you for pushing through the initial disappointment. I think the new colors are so so pretty and luxurious. Thank you, as always, for sharing. I so enjoy your videos and I have learned so much from you over the years. It’s because of you that I have started to make my own clothes - using vintage patterns!
There are more than one stroke of genius in this video: applying just enough amount of effort, and also cutting the video off and making two, for example. Mindfully creative, that is.
Hi Angela!! Your hair is absolutely beautiful.. Can’t believed you said bedspread.. Think I’d pick up some quilts or bedspreads from garage sales…. 💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
This is coming along so beautifully! Looking forward to seeing the end result. Love love love that gathered puff portion of the bodice and skirt for sure, it adds so much pizazz and flair to an other wise beautiful but elegantly simple in it's color scheme ensemble.
Yay happy squealing jumping up and down clapping a new video! I’ve been watching and Rewatching all your videos( especially your Lancaster vlogs and your Barbie re-creations) to keep me sewing and finish UFO sewing projects before i start a new project ! Love the new hair color !
After a very long but happy day, I get to sit with my hand sewing and watch you work. I hope you have a fabulous week ahead! Thank you for sharing this video as well as your time and talent.
Love it...love it...LOVE IT! This is absolutely stunning. I have a question. If you find you might come up short on fabric, would using a smaller seam allowance over the entire garment help? Looking forward to Part Two, xoxo's Sandie
I am wanting to make myself a VAD British or Canadian Nurses' Uniform (WW1) and an American Red Cross Nurse uniform also WW1. Do you have a pattern for those? I love your designs.
A leather thimble will help protect your sore fingers and make hand sewing go faster! I like them better than metal thimbles because you can custom fit it to your own finger. I am so excited to see how this project turns out!
I have often wondered why Angela doesn't wear a thimble? Is it vanity or, the long nails? Though hands can hurt too with all the manipulations they have to make. Soak in as cold of water you can for relief...or just rest them lol
I have revisted so many of your videos. I admire what you have accomplished being self taught.. You tackle anything and everything. Just want to let you know. .. I am a former seamstress. No match to you. I'll keep waiting and watching for the next creation. Thank you Angela.
I'm so ashamed. I've been watching your videos for years, and all of a sudden you stopped appearing in my homepage... apparently I wasn't subscribed!!!!
This looks wonderful already, too bad the dark fabric didn't make the cut since it is really beautiful but the lighter fabric shows off the pleats so well. Also, the bunny pattern on your blouse and the ghosts on your jumper(?) are adorable. The new hair colour suits you really well :D
I LOVE this video! It’s really helpful for me to see your problem solving solutions and all the info you teach! The dress is already gorgeous! I’m ready curious to see the final video!
I didn't see this when it came out! I don't know how I missed it, but anyway, it is gorgeous! I can relate about finger pain and I hope you were able to heal up quickly. I will look for the part 2 of this. I can't even imagine how much time and effort went into making this, but it was worth it for sure. Thanks so much.
I don't follow you anywhere else, so the pink hair was a surprise XD you look nice in so many colors and it's fun when you choose to use your natural hair with an older project instead of a wig. Brings a bit of fantasy (along with the normal Clayton Fantasy Aesthetic)
I love the pink hair on you! It’s so flattering, and any chance to coordinate with the gown MUST be taken 😍 And Minnie!! She is the sweetest little menace ☺️
The way this magenta part sits on the back of the torso/shoulder gave me an idea of like what if i did this but stopped there 19:20 and then i would attach this to a skin colored suit as kind of a commentary on the s*xualization of human anatomy. I'm a drag performer just for context. Also, do you remember what color is on your nails?
For the gathering issue of the skirt-since you were going to add to the waistband anyway to reduce the bulk could you have just added a bit extra up top? I’m going to remember that trick for the future!
i'm watching this video one month to the day after i first watched it, which was when you first posted it, and i am looking forward to seeing the rest of the project just as much today as i was a month ago--actually, maybe more. it is just breathtaking! :)
I just love your gowns. I had to take a picture of it and text it to my mother gushing over your creation. She is always stymied how I can like these outfits and have always gravitated to them ever since I was small. I tell her that the nurses gave hr the wrong baby at the ward of the military hospital where I was born.
Love the hair. Something I’ve wondered over the years is what you do with all these beautiful dresses. Do you sell them? If you’ve answered this at some point in the past, I must have missed it. I so enjoy your videos.
I think it’s so neat that you used a quilt to make the majority of a dress. It automatically gives it the sort of “old timey” look without much effort.
First, your hair is my dream color, and I highly suggest making dog jackets that make the dress- I promise it would be with it! But I digress, I love the dress you end up doing but I think if you do something like this in dark that you should (if you have the patience and time) outline the pleats folded edge with binding or piping. I know that’s not period accurate but it would be hella cool.
Was the dress heavy at all? I know quilts can feel heavy and the fabric looks like it. But the dress looks gorgeous!! I absolutely love the gaint Bow detail! It flows beautifully. I can wait to see it done.
angela, it's beautiful!! and i love your hair!!! and thanks for the link to birch living--i need a soft mattress topper for my guest room because my friend says the mattress there is too hard. :}
Visit birchliving.com/clayton to get $400 off your Birch Luxe mattress plus two free pillows! I think next to sewing, sleeping is one of my greatest passions, so I was so pleased to have them sponsor today’s video!
What made you to eventually order the topper later on? I am wanting a new mattress but want a really mushy soft one. Is this one like that? Thanks
HOW do you get them to sponsor someone on here? what does a matress have to do with sewing?
I just adore your videos. They are my comfort entertainment. You was the first cos-tuber I ever started watching. Omg this outfit is EVERYTHING! I’ve wanted this jacket forever!!
Can't believe you used your bedspread, but it's perfect so why not? Also, the raspberry silk is so pretty. (And looks good with your hair😃💕).
Something about the color choice and the bows on this dress remind me of the dress that Cinderella originally wanted to wear to the ball before her stepsisters destroyed it.

I misread the title as 'Pierrot' and was expecting a black and white clown costume 😅 My bad! What a tough project to tackle
I misread the title multiple times and your comment made me realise that I still can't read properly:D
New hair + bunny pattern in your top = fantastic, even by your standards
I like the purple nails 💅 💜 even if one got chipped in battle 😉
WOW, this project is a ton of work. That's why I am the spectator and you are the sewer. Plenty of patience for you too.
I feel the difficulty of this bulky gathered skirt! I just finished my 1890's walking skirt. I made the thing out of cotton flannel and fully lined it with cotton sateen. New video? Hell yeah. Btw the new hair suits you a lot. I really the trim on the top, it looks like it has cups almost like a corset.
I'm currently on my break and i really can't wait for work to finish so I can continue watching. The start looked so amazing already!!!
Hi Angela!! Your hair is absolutely beautiful.. Can’t believed you said bedspread.. Think I’d pick up some quilts or bedspreads from garage sales….

Love the new hair colour! This dress is really cool! I love the effect of all the pleat’s, can’t wait to see how you finish it!
I can't wait to see the finished costume. I'm fascinated with how you become inspired to make these costumes. It really is beautiful!
Yay happy squealing jumping up and down clapping a new video! I’ve been watching and Rewatching all your videos( especially your Lancaster vlogs and your Barbie re-creations) to keep me sewing and finish UFO sewing projects before i start a new project ! Love the new hair color !

I have a question: with all the hand sewing you do, why don't you use a thimble?
When i saw the finished product i thought it was a Cinderella inspired dress. The one mice helped her make! Love the dress
Love it...love it...LOVE IT! This is absolutely stunning. I have a question. If you find you might come up short on fabric, would using a smaller seam allowance over the entire garment help?
Looking forward to Part Two,
xoxo's Sandie
Oh my gosh, it's so cute! I can't wait to see the finished dress.❤
About to actually watch the video but wanted to say this: your hair looks freaking awesome!!! You are so beautiful in pink
Literally here to say this!
Same +2
I am wanting to make myself a VAD British or Canadian Nurses' Uniform (WW1) and an American Red Cross Nurse uniform also WW1. Do you have a pattern for those? I love your designs.
This is coming out so pretty! For my 2 cents worth i much prefer this fabric combo to the original. Much more elegant!
Oh my goodness.. it looks so beautiful already it reminds me of the first dress in Cinderella, the one her sisters tear up 💕
Love the new hair color! I love listening to you describe your work and am always In awe of your work
This is so pretty. Your projects are always so interesting. I am glad that I follow you on youtube.
I am fairly drooling over the fact that you have enough boning to have a boning roll 🥵😍 it’s so super cute!
Fighting pleats, I feel the pain. This would be a great use for garage sale quilts.
I feel that the explanation about what you are making is not there so I feel like I am missing part of the story.
Yay top 806 and top 64 likes and comments. Love this channel.
I love this dress, can’t wait to see the finished product!
It's beautiful! I can't wait to see the rest of it!
Oh Angela I'm grateful for this video! Thank you💗
Love this project so much so far!
ALSO! That hair color looks so flattering on you! Loved the green before and love the pink now! :D
A leather thimble will help protect your sore fingers and make hand sewing go faster! I like them better than metal thimbles because you can custom fit it to your own finger. I am so excited to see how this project turns out!

I was wondering about this too! I’d never make it through all that hand sewing without a thimble
I love this dress - the jacket !amazing! I can’t wait to see what it looks like on.
So do you have a spare room as your closet? 😉
I love the applique ribbon and bow on the skirt.
I LOVE the way this is turning out. The other fabric was gorgeous, too.
I've been wanting to make one of these for a while, this is so helpful!
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! You are so smart, talented and patient! Thank you for sharing.
You look gorgeous. This dress and ultra pleated jacket are so amazing. Beyond amazing!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Saw your thumbnail and immediately said 'Yayy!? It's Angela!!'. Thanks sooo much for this video.

This is a lovely project and I applaud both the restart and the expending of just the perfect effort to get the look you want. Radical self care!!
Odd that people freak out about the sharpies... I actually thought it was brilliant and have started using them when I make stuff.
I havent finishes the video but from the pictures it looks like its going to be absolutely stunning. You are an amazing talented seamstresses.
I just love your gowns. I had to take a picture of it and text it to my mother gushing over your creation. so . . . this is a ridiculously cute dress. when i saw the thumbnail with the bow applique . . . my heart skipped a beat!🩷🩷🩷
I couldn't agree more. Great Video 💎!! Become an online boss > Promo>SM!
I know it's in your FAQ but there is no link (under all the videos I checked) what books do you recommend?
Ah! Love the hair!
I was gonna make it black...
but then... pink!
I love it. beautiful as always
I hope you're taking care of yourself and the pups. I know the last few years have been really hard but I hope you can find a way to be happy.
I think it’s so neat that you used a quilt to make the majority of a dress. It automatically gives it the sort of “old timey” look without much effort.
Did the patern specify the order of construction? I wonder if the centre back seam could have been done before the pleats?
Hi! I always wonder, do you have every closet in your house filled or do you sell your projects after some time or keep some sell some?
Im amused Birch Living likes you cutting up their products
Ha, you are using upholstery thread to gather, I have to use three strands of embroidery thread.
Looking forward to part 2🤩
I love your pink hair.
I love the new hair!
Aaah, noooo! I was SO invested in seeing the final finished photo shoot!!!😭
It is so amazing. What is your over time and money investment in this project
As a Civil War living historian, this is stunning.
Ibelieve this fashion is from the Revolutionary War Era.
I love it.. Absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful sharing
does anyone else think it looks like a stylized version of cinderella's moms dress?
I love the pink of that silk and your hair! Stunning.
First, your hair is my dream color, and I highly suggest making dog jackets that make the dress- I promise it would be with it!

When you first unrolled t, it looked like a giant block of tofu!
Oh love your hair this color! Love this project too!

Looks like Birch has a new canine spokesdog. :)
beautiful piece. you are so skilled. i have enjoyed watching your videos for a number of years.
The real ness of trying to do a thing 🍻✌️❤️
The whole dress looks terrific and I think you have done a great job a d it's an enormous amount of work involved well done
I love your new hair! It's such a fun color!
Wow. That dress. Is. Beautiful!
Pink is not my favorite color but this dress is coming our splendidly! ❤️❤️
Your hair looks amazing! I also love the colour scheme of the ensemble, the white quilt fits it really well
