What I heard is that when she showed up for this recording she was jet lagged and had a cold and didn't even want to try, the founder of PMJ (pianist Scott Bradlee) suggested they just try one take and then try it again at a later date if it didn't work. This is that one take...perfection.

Ya she hits different. PMJ spins modern songs back into 20's -60's styles and they use many different vocalists...but...Haley is the Queen. Her vocal tool kit is untouchable. If she were born 80 years ago we would still be talking about her legacy. An amazing anachronism.

subbed for more Haley 💗- Have you ever heard of Angelina Jordan? If not, you must her rendition of "I Put A Spell On You" - it's also in b/w and always comes to my mind when I watch this performance of Haley (and the other way round, for me these two have some inner connection, maybe because it's jazz/blues again and both are killer performers who just slay it...
Btw. Haley has a new video out "Lovesick" - original song, footage from an award winning short film "Americana" (great movie on a sinister topic: human trafficking... Haley features in the film as well...) - awesome song that's got stuck in my head for days now...

Totally agree with these recommendations! Haley should be recognized for her great vocal ability and talent. Angelina Jordan is something very special as well. She's actually 9 years old in the recommended video and she kills it! She's currently 16 years old and her vocals are incredible!
That cover of Creep sung by Haley Reinhart stayed on the Billboard Digital Jazz Chart for 58 straight weeks in a row. As Haley Reinhart is easily the best vocalist to have ever performed with PMJ by a long shot.
In fact, prior to the arrival of Haley Reinhart, all PMJ ever played were tiny venues and cheap dives. Then after Haley arrived on the scene and quickly recorded several music videos with them that all went viral, suddenly PMJ found itself filling coliseums and arenas.

My visit to you channel, but whenever I see a reaction to Haley and Creep I have to check it out. I’d like you to check out a young band from Ireland called Dea Matrona. They are a young classic rock band whose covers of Cream’s Crossroads, Van Morrison GLORIA, Peter Green’s Oh Well, Rory Gallagher’s Cradle Rock, Simon and Garfunkel Homeward Bound, CSN Helplessly Hoping as well as others are terrific. Originals So Damn Dangerous, Glory Glory (I Am Free) Stamp on It (live session is my fave version) and latest single Red Button (audio only) are my recommendations. You can see the diversity of acoustic and electric talent they show. Cool if you can check them out.
