Magnets for Magneto... nothing else would make sense 🤓👍
@Leanja Neodymium my friend :)
This is so epic. Can't wait to see the painting
Haha I will just be happy to get through all of the printing and see it fully standing
@@UncleJessy fair enough. Keep up the great work dude!
@@UncleJessy cmon dude you have to paint it and finish it fully!
@@UncleJessy What would be cool is for me to come to New York to help you paint it, since I already painted one. :)
I normally like models painted to match as closely as possible, but I'm kind of loving the mix match color. It's going to be epic when it's finished
Will there be a part 3 to this? I Hope so!
She’s looking amazing already. Can’t wait to see the final product.
Super excited to get it up!
SHE! Look at the size of the arms, it's not Serena Williams.
@@evilutionltd I dunno Williams is a big woman! 😂
@@arghjayem Could be Leah Thomas.
This is fantastic! Magneto meets the partridge family bus. You vould have him floating from the wall as an explosion of steel girders splayed out in a sunburst, instead of a floor base. If not too late. CA t wait for the finale.
Elegoo has 10kg of their black filament on sale for $100 USD right now. Perhaps the cheapest filament you can get and I've had nothing but luck with it.
Now only if I had a dozen printers I could print at this scale.
Heavy-duty velcro will work to hold the arms on. I use it for prints when magnets are not strong enough to hold the weight of a part.
Love it! Upscaling fascinates me the most with 3d print.
Oh sweet mother of everything that its printable at home!!! Man, you're pushing 3d printing to the MAX!!! Its looking sooo sweet already, my dear amigo
The patchwork on this makes me think of the superhero "Combo Man". If that sounds like a gimmick superhero, it is. It was a promo for the snacks Combos and Marvel. Can't wait to see it all built but before painting.
i am waitng for the 3rd part and see how it turns
Thats looking so awesome so far!
I wonder if a large delta would have been a better choice for them limbs? One day, when I'm all grown up, I want to print one of these like you ! This is awesome!
I love seeing all the different coloured parts come together. I really hope after all of this it does actually fit and isn't too tall!
That is too cool! I can’t wait to see it finished! Magneto is the best X-Men character too
Add extra wall in tree support
Everything looks great so far I love X-men so I am so excited to see the finished piece Jessy.
Looking incredible so far Uncle Jessy. I look forward to seeing it finished!
That's just pure awesome.
I'm really excited for part 3
Considering the scale and the potential instability while assembling this model, I might have started with the base if there is one. You know, a house cannot be built without a firm foundation.
So huge!
Part 3?
Amazing project. Looks great!
This is why you need those 5kg spools...
Would totally have done this back in the 90's if,
1. We had 3D printers back then.
2. I had the room for a life size statue in my room.
3. I knew my parents where fine with their teenage son having a life size replica of She-Hulk.
The de burring tool really is a pro tip 👌🏼we learned that from you! We have them at all of our post production stations.
Cool project! Magneto is 6’2 so your scaling is quite a bit off but if that doesn’t bug you then shouldn’t bug others
😂🤣 yeah more like 7ft magneto 😂🤘 will be awesome
My fav character outside of Deadpool and spidy. Super fun to watch…
I have one idea. Transparent resin/filament. Hollow it out, weigh it down with sand or something
Magnets all the way! Or maybe a shelf or brackets the wall that you can hide in the wall if its small enough to be hidden but strong enough to support the arm and legs might work
LOVE IT!!
Really enjoying this series.
Incredible! Uncle Jessy you are a huge inspiration and this build just has me giddy with excitement. I love what you are doing!
I can’t wait for part 3
What about a metal bar through the body that goes into the arm joints? that way the body takes the weight and the arms could potentially slide off later if needed.
Run a wire trough the torso and attach at each arm (for safety) and use clip to attach it to wire. You'd need giant Rare Earth magnets and that means $$$ EXPENSIVE too
Jessie….we need part 3…..you have 957 3d printers, LET’S GO!!!
DANG this thing is THICCCCCC. Great project. I need to use Luban more! I wonder, now with PS2.6 and its cutting features, is Luban still needed or beneficial on its own vs. just using Prusaslicer?
The one thing Luban does (in addition to its 100 other functions) that PrusaSlicer doesn’t do is hollow out the file…
Without Luban, all the limbs would have infill.. and be much much heavier and take much more time to print
@@ericnalian4859 AH, okay, interesting. I bought Luban YEARSSSSSSS ago and never really used it.. Maybe one day soon!
I want to do a wolverine version of this the one with him crouching so it even then it’s only like now 4 1/2 feet tall Mike 20 feet tall. You’re lucky that you’re doing this at your shop because I bet you there’s no way your family will let you have that at home. Great video is always be well be you
Kudos on diving on this huge project .
Bro we are here waiting and uncle jessy is printing I am sure its going to be huge and greate
You're a BIG kid. It's wonderful!! But I agree, really strong magnets 🧲
Need to print an Arnold Schwarzenegger head to swap in and out, that thing looks like a Mr Olympia for sure
"Life-Sized". Magneto, canonically 12-feet tall.
Gravity held steel latches would work. Kind of like a French cleat. Search for Rockler Adjustable Flush Mount Brackets.
I doubt that magnets would be enough to hold the pieces together on their own. You probably want to incorporate some PVC pipe as an internal skeleton which you can build the pieces around. Then some strong magnets to keep them connected. Velcro might be another option for connection.
I've seen that happen with failing supports, too. One time I had a support that wasn't sticking to the bed, so I stuck a clod of painter's tape in its place, so the supports could build on that.
That deserves an official "Mein Gott in Himmel!!!" 😁 And, dude, inquiring minds want to know what printer that was that showed up in the giant wooden crate! [from your TikTok account]
Customer: “Can I order a life-sized 3D-printed Magneto?”
Seller: “Would you like a second mortgage as well?”
Awesome project, can't wait to see it complete!
For 3dgloop I use Luer lock syringes with blunt tip Luer lock needles. You can get different size syringes and needles to fit the size of the part(s) you're 3dglooping. I keep a variety of 1ml through 20ml syringes on hand and 14ga-16ga blunt needles. 3dgloop is too thick to flow well through anything much smaller than that.
Try using Fidlock magnet snaps with the M5 long male magnet stems. Each magnet set holds up to 45kg, and could be inserted into each section with a little bit of work. That's what I'm going to try and do when I get around to printing the statue I'm going to be auctioning off for charity (hopefully) later this year.
Awesome project and I wonder what the end result will look like.❤🔥The only thing that I would different is the print direction of the pegs to make them stronger, because layers are the weakest point in a 3D print. It might not be an issue, but in a worst case scenario where the statue will fall over some pegs might break on you right in the middle giving you a hard time with repairing it again.
Me: I love miniatures
Also me (after watching your videos): but I also love 3 meters tall miniatures
this is so cool. I love the possibility's of 3d printing. someday your going to be 3d printing a house.
Magnets will probably not hold up that arm. I would look at the steel rods you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot.
Also, I'm very disappointed that you didn't add holes into the outstretched palm of the model so you embed magnets for holding tools and such. It is Magneto, after all! :)
Yea, earth magnets for Mangeto should work well.
So you need to start again and reduce the size! Lol.
Awesome bro I started on mine last year, I'm printing life size Michael Myers for Halloween then printing Jason and freddy krueger next .
There are disc magnets that can come down to the size of a half dollar. Which are pretty strong. Also super thin so won't cause issues with space
For magnets you will need to glue them on the inside with at least 5mm of resin covering it. otherwise the force required to tear strong magnets apart by pulling /required due to pegs) will likely also tear out the glue.
I'm thinking you are going to need some metal conduit to build a frame on the inside. If you thread them you can have joints that will allow for easier disassembly down the line. Whatever you use it needs to be super sturdy.
That fart at 3:05 caught me by surprise 😂😂😂😂
magnets in Magnito is meta
For the arms maybe some rare earth magnets glued down with epoxy?
I kinda wanna see you print more props like Loki’s mask or something
Even after the resize I think you still made it too big, he’s gonna be huge! 😂
One day, I too want to give life-size statue printing a go...
...I want a full life-sized, 144cm tall figure of Shuten Douji.
if you want really strong and cheap magnets - buy some old dead HDDs and deassemble those
they will be big enough and strong to hold those arms... mb 2-3 HDDs per arm will be fine
also you can use epoxy to keep them in some small pits
Please tell me you'll be painting him, when his done! 😊 fantastic!
Use i-hooks a fishing line from the ceiling to make it appear he's actually floating.
Such an awesome project. Can you print me a mandalorian statue next. 😂
still patiently waiting for this finished lol
You never cease to bring amazing content! Wow! One of these days I'd live to 3D model something like this and put it together! I've started modeling my ball jointed dolls! Will post soon
Can't wait to see how tall he will be!
It is really nice that we cant buy this printers for months and you are advertising them lol
Hmm, I like the foam idea but just as a heads up the best way to go about that would be mixing two part expanding foam /however/ much like 2 part resin it generates a lot of heat so you would run the risk of warping/deformation of the pla.
Instead of scaling the dowels there is a setting for tolerance in Luban3D and it will fix that problem for you. Best way I found was to do a couple of test prints and input the tolerance I found that gave me the best fit. -0.2 was what I ended up with but different materials and printers may be different, and a negative number means smaller positive number will make the dowels larger.
This is going to be one massive and awesome project btw. Love it.
Would be nice to know if this was scrapped or not
congrats on making half way throguh it.. maybe you can use hot glue to hold them in place for now and then get some rare earth magnagets {{but not sure why you would want that other then to detached to move and re attached back together}} either way happy that it's coming along for you well and we will be waiting for the next vid to come out
That is impressive.
I spy a galaxy 1 in the background in a crate
No idea what you are talking about 🙃
Reminds me of my lifesize xenomorph i started a while ago...i never finished it...ended up with a head and a Torso 😂
please tell me you're gonna finish that project and didn't just add 25 + pounds of plastic to the environment for no reason :D
Right
This is so epic, you spend so much time doing this
Realy nice.
if the seams are recessed in shoulders and legs you could use velcro.. is stronger than magnets due to the large surface
it will add some thickness so keep in mind that
It looks like you didn't used enough wall and that is why you dented couple of parts xD
Yeah know.. $264 so far is already a killer deal compared to a normal marble statue. And yeah, they make strong magnets, question is is there enough structure to hold the magnets. Are you thinking of finishing the piece or like half finished, half filament?
Check out the Galactic Armory's videos on the life-size Master Chief and Arbiter for some tips on how to attach the arms.
Hey please post an update on this project. Can't wait to see the end result
This is very cool! An inspiring project.
This is really awesome! I'm no expert when it comes to this but what about twist turn interlocking. Might cut down on glue.
I love this series Jessy! Please keep up the fantastic job and videos!
Epic project, love it
EDIT: Is there a 3D gloop "equivalent" for resin 3D prints? Or what adhesive would you recommend for someone following along but using resin 3D printers? I'm doing a similar but smaller scale project on my Elegoo Jupiter and Saturn
just use the liquid resin itself to join the parts together
Looking Fantastic so far! any plans to incorporate any kind of lighting for display or effects purposes in the finished project??
Velcro? Cheaper than magnets but might have needed to build in clearance?
Elegoo, Please Provide Purple PLA!
I guess this project was just no profitable 😂 no update 😂
How about using the 3doodler create pro filament pen to fill your seams?
