FTL Cosmos Remix on the Novation Circuit

I made a remix of FTL's Cosmos on Novation's portable standalone groove box Circuit. Cosmos Battle is arguably the most dance-able piece in FTL, so it made sense to make it a full dance party on the Circuit.

So, the entire song heard in this video is produced just with that gadget? Pretty cool. I kinda want to get into music making myself specifically to remix my favorite songs; maybe this would be a good place to start :)

If you want to remix, you'd probably be better off with something that also handles samples. And probably something that's actually a bit less limited, because when you're starting out you might find that too limiting and frustrating :)

Yes! Definitely Ableton. It's really intuitive and easy to get to grips with (although these days there's a million tutorials on UA-cam for everything anyway). It's great if you just want to do production, but also great if you want to get into some live stuff as well. And there's heaps of controllers and stuff for it, so if you wanted to try something like Ben is doing in this video it's easy to set that up with Ableton. You can even use it DJ if you're so inclined.

Interesting. Thanks a lot for this; I've had a desire for a long time to get into this, but never the impetus to make the leap. I think I'll give that a shot now--there's definitely 2 or 3 songs I've had in mind to create since childhood.

This reminds me of the Extra Credits Episode on Video Game Music and why the classic era tends to be more memorable than modern game soundtracks. Simplicity is a great feature and fits perfectly in retro graphic games like FTL.
