- Playing the piano was more than just a job for Anthony Burger. It was a way of life, as well as a blessing, privilege, and a direct gift from God.
Anthony died suddenly during a piano performance on Wednesday evening, February 22, 2006, aboard a Caribbean cruise as it sailed in the Atlantic Ocean.

My husband died-at 42 years old the exact same way. He was at the airport boarding a flight and just dropped over dead. He had just had a physical and had passed it with flying colors. The doctors told me if he had been on the operating table with his chest open they could not have saved him. I will never forget that day the rest of my life.
Anthony Burger was a talent straight from God’s heart. I love Southern Gospel music and have CDs of his music that I have listened to for years. You could tell my watching him play, he loved what he did. I know his death was a shock to his family but at least they must know he died doing what he loved. I believe he is making beautiful music in heaven right now.

This film is terrible for blind people because, there’s nothing but piano! 😂 Anthony always went out of his way to be really nice to me. Starting at about the age of 13 I saw him quite regularly for quite a while and even played his piano.
