When you started talking about charge out rates in swear it sounded like you were kicking yourself for not charging more and venting the frustration 😂

I don't know it you did it doing editing, but you showed that you removed the transformer then you showed cutting the power off. Just things i notice. Good video and good catch on the bad wire

So what sort of corrosion mitigation is present on the boat unit? Look how we have to use anode rods in water heaters to slow corrosion. The coaxial has got to be copper. So I guess the boats zinc must be kept clean and fresh or that coil will become the next sacrificial metal.

Good Video. i've worked on hundreds of boats in my 40+ years of refrigeration. water cooled refrigeration mostly. Engine driven refrigeration. think car compressors with cupra-nickel condensers.
Big Fishing boats - with cold storage lockers. Definitely not boring & can eat up the hours.
    Tips for Working on boats:
    1) i use 2 Moving blankets & thrown them down to crawl on saves the knees a bit.
    take care of your knees.
You can wear knee pads too. depending on situation.
    allways protect your knees !
they also make pants that have built in knee pads. you can wear those.
    2) Lucky find on that h. p. safety. 😎
    3) Sometimes those transformers have glass fuses under the covers on the transformer ends. no use checking if you smell burned smell.
    4) The Outlet of that txv needs insulated. going to drip water in cooling mode. create mold on wood.
    5) Need to insulate other piping going to compressor a bit. keep the water dripping to a minimum.

Do you have to adjust water flow in boats just like you do in a residential closed system to get the loop temp correct. Have you seen the issue from a few years ago where Florida h/p units had bad indoor coils. I bet those are impossible almost to change in a boat

Wow, wonder what the cost benefit is to running one type of system vs another. Especially in areas where you dont get a hard winter freeze.

No benefits whatsoever there very expensive 2 to 3x what a heatpump costs to install this is including repairs and not worth the cost for what little money it saves you over a heatpump litterly nothing you won't save any electricity the only difference is geothermal uses water and glycol instead of refrigerant and still uses a scroll compressor just like a heatpump where most of the electricity drain comes from and unlike a heatpump it also has a water pump that runs constantly which is why you save no money over a heatpump.....
Also not a lot of contractors know how to install these systems correctly and very few in my area will even work on them there hard to get parts for sometimes not to mention your gonna excavate your whole back yard to install a closed loop which is the better system over a open loop. They say oh you will save 80 percent on your heat and cooling bill trust me this is a lie to try and sell you a system iv installed several of these for a few home builders in our area they love the system but agree that it didn't save them any where near what they thought and loved that I was up front and honest about that part even tho they love the Install and system.... If your rich and like fancy toys go for it but don't think it's gonna save you money on the electric bill I promise you it won't.....
