- Central Band of the RAF, the Band of The RAF Regiment and the Queens Colour Squadron, Changing The Guard at Buckingham Palace on a very windy first day of February. Thankfully not as cold as the day before but still just as windy, so again apologies for some of the audio sound.
The all RAF Changing the Guard took place in front of the Duke of Kent and was to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the RAF Regiment.
The video again features Holyrood played as a slow march and more counter marching up at St. James Palace.
FANTASTIC! I’m waiting on my RAF summer uniform to get delivered. I love to let people know I absolutely LOVE the British armed forces so much I’ve been to rememberance Sunday ever since I was born in 2014! Thanks for a super beautiful video
Good for you I wish you all the very best in everything you do in life we need people like you 🏴👍
Excellent selection of marches played. Voice of the Guns, The Liberators, Bond of Friendship, Imperial Echoes, Standard of St George, all among my favourites and well played by these two RAF Bands. As others have mentioned, Happy 80th RAF Regt. Very smart, well done!
Very impressive video with unexpected scenes! Love the new slow march 'Saeculum' and i'm glad they played a favorite of mine, ' Imperial Echoes '. Great work you did MrBaton!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Drill is smarter than the guards!
A very popular event and wish I would had been back in London to see it all again on bright sunny day.
lovely to see a female drum major,so smart and correct, well done
The way RAF march while carrying sword is much smarter than the Army.
I was wondering why there were so many Colours on parade, but I guess that was because of the 80th Anniversary?
Another terrific video thanks 😊. And just putting it out there, the female police officer on the grey horse I'm sure is the same lady we got talking to a few weeks ago at Horse Guards and what a lovely lady really friendly and helpful. Something nice to say about the police after all the bad press lately.ps the horse was gorgeous aswell.
Very impressive , I especially like the way that they avoided the horse s**t on the road . Standards - Proud to Serve!
Lizard
Like the idea of the Counter march at the end. Being 6 wide gives less manoeuvre room for the Guard .
The duke of kent so like queen mary, his grandmother
Well done the Rocks and well done the bands. Pity about the beards though. not a good look in uniform.
In the war they called the air forces the brill cream boys my dad was in the Lancters force at least today we have something to be proud of
I love watching the changing of the guards. I'm from the Philippines and I hope someday I will get to watch it first hand. Thanks, nice video
Gracias. También quería saber los nombres de los temas.🤩😍 🎼
Happy Birthday, Rocks! Excellent playing by the bands. I especially liked Imperial Echoes. QCS, as usual, better drill than the Guards.
🚁⛵🚂Hi Royal Airforce Very Manly Very Charming Very Handsome Very Respectful Very Intelligent Coolest Uniform Ever Mightiest Defense Always Ready to Roll Rockstar & Overachiever 🍇🍓🥝
WOW RAF!
Wow Raf Regiment
Very smart and slick the woman drum major well done 👍
Nice images, very impressive. Greetings from Brazil. Long live Great Britain.
Band without music, carrying their instruments along the streets - always curious …
When carrying the instruments the band have no guard detachment with them or are on their way to collect the old guard or returning to barracks after taking the new guard to St James Palace, m
Fantastic video! Happy 80th Birthday/Anniversary to the RAF Regiment! 🥳🎉
The marches played were,
1) Blue Devils
2) Voice of the Guns
3) The Liberators
4) Wellington
5) Bond of Friendship
6) Holyrood (In Slow Time)
7) Holyrood
8) Saeculum

Thank you Delvin, like Anubis I like Imperial Echoes, sounded good on the march. We had a little bit of Crown Imperial as well from the Central Band on the courtyard, but I've no idea what the tune was before that, just after Holyrood for the second time.
@@MrBaton74 You're very welcome! The RAF has done a fantastic job!
Thank you Delvin. And do you know the name of the composition that the band performs at 18:15 in the little concert, after Holyrood? The band then performs Sir William Walton's Spitfair. Greetings from Spain.
@@ciatro Sorry sadly I don't! Maybe someone who knows can help! I always have difficulty identifying the static music, since most of the time they aren't military marches. So that's why I don't name them! Again Sorry!
@@delvinrodriguez3341 Don't worry! Greetings from Spain!
this is beautiful video, and looks fantastic.i lived in london but never witnessed such an event .can you let me know when this will happen again may be i witness live
When I see the good old air force I think of my wounderfull dad Imy dad was in the RAF you know today I think the air forces uiieformis the best I still have all my dads photos in the second war my daddy was a bome dictator as there was a lot on the beeches
God Save the Queen 😎❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Excellent marching. Always lovely to WATCH a band March.
An improvement then!
One thing always amazes me watching events like this and that is the precision marching with all in time to the part of a second. Why can't other military services - and I'm not specifying any because the one my hubby served in are no better when they march - manage to do this. It may sound petty but marching in time like this shows the measure of the military and, according to friends in the UK military, makes long distance marching much easier (one UA-camr quotes writings showing that the Roman armies marched in time like this and they attributed this to the fact that they could do long marches at a fairly rapid rate of knots whereas other forces then and now have problems with matching this) but it also makes watching them a huge pleasure. I watch some other countries marching - and that includes more than one commonwealth country - and I find myself having to look away because they are marching OUT OF TIME WITH EACH OTHER, and even aa 30sec delay shows up horribly. Something that's annoyed me since I was a child and used to watch the army of the country I lived in marching in the annual Christmas Parade - latesf 60ss early 70s - , and they were always slightly out of time/step with each other. Dad always commented on it (ex REME) and it's been something I can't help but notice ever since.
The Royal Navy bimbles, the joy of being the Senior Service since 1545, we will turn up do what is required then depart
Excelente vídeo. Muito lindo.
Nice to see female Drum Major.
Is it, why? What happened to tradition.
So there is no way to avoid marching through horse poo 😂
Sure this is changing of the guard??
Very smart
STUPID POLICE WOMEN, did they want the cars and taxi's to brake the law and go through a RED Light.
That must be rare for an all RAF (or any regiment to do a full changing) changing of the guard, never send it before
Perhaps Queens Guard Army preparing for duty elsewhere. Let's hope not.
@@richarddower9134 This is because it is to mark the RAF Regiment's 80th anniversary, not because of what you suggest, and yes hopefully our service people are not going to have to go to war again. When they do it will be with all three services, elements of all three services.
It´s rare but it happened before...
Damned fine band.
Very good drill, so smart ,!
The RAF bands always have impeccable drill
🎶👏🇬🇧
Ok no❤
Differences between the 2 RAF-bands?
The one with the female drum major (I believe) is the Central band of the RAF and the second band (that performs the slow March) is the RAF Regiment band
@@MilitaryBandsSouthWestUK actually, the slow-march band is the Central Band which will be the mounting guard. Band of the RAF Regiment are the dismount, hence their earlier arrival at Buckingham Palace.
I guess I have not seen a lady drum major before. Well done
Imperial Echoes used to be the call sign of the BBC World Service until the woke brigade spoilt everything.
It’s what QCS does
Was this a special Event? why was so many Colours brought in?
@@matthewplant2603 does the Grenadiers get to do this as well?
@@matthewplant2603 So do the RAF Regt have a colour per sqn?
@@norman6595 The RAF Regt has one Queens Colour, each RAF Sqn (Regt or otherwise) has a Sqn Standard
@@norman6595yes after 25 years continuous service if my memory serves me well
I love the clued in motorists who know whats happening honking at Satans minions on their final retreat..
The Duke of Kent looks like a goldfish in a bowl with his mouth opening and closing like that. Why oh why do they wheel out old nobodies like that for these occasions.Plus he was a Pongo, nothing to do with the crabfats!
Why were there so many RAF Standards on parade, apart from the Queen's Colour?
@@matthewplant2603 Having spent three years at Catterick in the Band of the RAF Regiment, I should have known that. 🤒 Thank you.
Change the royal family
I was on the edge of my seat for a while... Will they wont they kick the horse shit.... Phew the tension..
